Justin, theres not a nickles worth of difference between those two motors. Piped the same Im sure they would act pretty much the same although they all have their own little personality. That cracking noise is probably just the engine saying "give it up already man, shift the damn gears dude!"...other than that...look real close at the end of the threads you might be a little rich still????...Jim

Rick did you pull that stator completely and ck the wires closely? Man, if I wasnt so swamped I'd drive up there and get you goin..seriously. Hang in there buddy..the good stuff is worth waitin' on...Jim
-
Schizo, even at your weight that motor will pull a 15/41 no problem. Concentrate on the main jet and adjust midrange from there. When jetted correctly it will have an almost seamless powerband from around 3000 rpm clear through the terror zone...Jim

H300F...they hold a ton of power back...like night and day. RebelBanshee, you really should get the 34's when you can, if you do, your motor is going to be unbelievably wicked...trust me on that one, I know the guy that built it. Jinx, those manifolds are opened up for full flow on 36's and work great out of the box with delta's. Blue Duece seems to be pleased with his motor using unmodded ones, but if you want to add the personal touch, Im sure your motor wouldn't mind. As for the calander, seems there is about 8 or 9 of those 12 port strokers out on or around HQ and 4 or 5 new ones being born at the moment...Jim

SDD, I almost tightened that countershaft nut before I shipped the motor but thought Rick might find it easier to install the chain with the sprocket off....tighten that nut RICK! The 795 series pistons only compensate for the long rods, not the stroke. That plate is to compensate for the pistons protruding out the bore and allows for proper squish clearance. And no, those cylinders were unported and one was totally trashed and had to be re-sleeved. Cotton eye Joe, that is a one piece manifold from side to side with a built in crossover unvisible from the outside...really nice piece!!...I just love those manifolds...the best Ive seen and affordable too...with clamps and boots and bolts...$150.00!..Jim

+4 stroker with matched porting, Noss head and a set of CPI's...around $1900.00 and more than a handfull for any situation...Jim

Opinions On Mikuni 34mm Flat Slides
PassionRE replied to 2001 929's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I run 34mm TM carbs. They are awesome. You will not be dissapointed. As for no bottom end. I run 1.5 60 foot times in sand on a 350 stock stroke stock bore. Wow!...those are great times...I imagine your dumping the clutch at or near WOT? -
Opinions On Mikuni 34mm Flat Slides
PassionRE replied to 2001 929's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
34's would be considered all out top-end only on a 350 motor regardless of porting...Jim -
H300F, you will notice huge gains in acceleration and top-end while still having great bottom end over the stockers your running. You'll need a new intake to accomodate them though. I sell these BOSS RACING intakes that are just killer billets with built in crossover...very nice peice and affordable as well...Jim
-
BIgWill, you can expect more top-end normally with the larger carbs but honestly your bike will fall off the pipe at nearly the same point in peak rpm and the difference is so minimal its really not worth the extra cost. Not to mention that the arm jerking ,neck snapping bottom end with the 34's is just to die for. Save the money, haul ass, and try not to grin too much in public...Jim
-
BigWill, my 12 port stroker motors will accept up to 36mm carbs with no problems. I reccomend the 34's in order to insure crisp throttle response. Anyone familiar with Banshee motors will understand the magnitude of what I just said. 34mm carbs are more than 1/2 the piston bore size...."crisp throttle response with 34's"...almost unheard of. You can run the 35's with no problems...Jim

I Owe Banshee Riders An Apology
PassionRE replied to sinkorswim's topic in General Banshee Discussion
BigWill, did you get to fire that thing off yet?...Jim -
So Cal is great, except for all the jerks on the freeway. And the housing cost is through the roof, soon I will need 1 million dollars just to buy a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom house...Hence why I have not moved out, I think ill need around $70,000 a year just to get a condo..I can forget about ever owning a house here, and right now I'm not even sure im in the double digits Oh well graduating this semester... Justin, dont worry too much about it and keep your chin up. When I was your age I thought the same thing about cost of living and such. Just keep your nose clean, work real hard when your young and it will all pay off for you in the end regardless of where your located...JIm

Where Do The Rings Need To Be?
PassionRE replied to FoxBansheeRacing's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
The ring locator pins in the pistons mandate where the end gaps go. The ring end gaps will end up being between the rear boost port and rear transfer ports. Look at the pistons closely before installing rings and any numbers or letters face upwards. Clean the base gasket surfaces and install a slight amount of 2 cycle oil on the sleeves torwards the bottom before installing. Depress ring ends with your fingers as you gently slide the cylinders over the rings one at a time...NO EXCESSIVE PRESSURE. After cylinder is in place with nuts and torqued, wipe more oil evenly throughout the bore surface with the piston all the way down. Turn the motor over a few times by hand and then wipe off any excess oil that may have ended up on the head gasket surface of the cylinder. If not installing the head right away, lay clean dust free rags over the jugs until the head is ready to install....Jim -
Oklahoma ranges from 10 to 115 degrees throught the seasons. Yesterday was about 37 degrees. Riding season here is about 9 months out of the year..Jim

DONT use the Tupperware for drain buckets. DONT wash out greasy parts in the sink and leave the mess. DONT Bake cylinders in the oven with fresh paint on them DONT Rebuild motorcycle engines in the living room DONT use the trashcan for a test tank on the outboard DONT tune the jet-ski's in the swimming pool DONT track in metal shavings through the house DONT run 927 within a block of the house DONT eat cat shit and want a kiss...Duece said that not me! AND BY ALL MEANS...dont do a ground up restoration on a Porsche and take her parking spot in the garage for 2 years...Jim

Proquad101, Ive got my new tig-welder up and running. If you need to bring the bike over for some finishing touches on the frame, let me know...Jim

Got1Banshee has got a guy making my stickers for me and I should have them in the next couple of weeks.....THANKS RICK!!!!!!!! He's making stickers that will work well for use on your bikes and I will have some different ones for my logo and for use on vehicles and such. I'll let you know when I get them and send them out to people running my engines....Jim
-
Cotton eyed Joe, are you sure your game? This little tot is just a bossy little sort that needs flogged quite frequently and has a nasty temper that becomes quite addictive to be around..Jim
-
RebelBanshee2, Ive got a sassy little +4 long rod crank that needs a good home, should I send Santa by the house again?...Jim

The system is inherently arranged to bend you over at anytime for any reason from either party...get used to it....its not going to change. BUT, remember one thing that might just hit home just a tad, VOTE LEFT and eventually the only Banshee you'll see going over the dune will be on video tape. Those bastards on the left will deny you of everything if you give them the power to...Jim

PM D34 or Proquad101 for chassis set-up for flat track, both of those guys are experts....Jim

Stickers, t-shirts, websight....I know, I know man. I'm workin on it guys and I wont forget any of you. Ive had a design guy working on my stickers and he just disappeared in the process and I have to start over I guess. I have the web domain handled just not enough time to compile the text for someone else to put the damn thing together. Ive got engines and cylinders running out my ass which is cool, but my parts suppliers cant keep up with me and Wiseco is just driving me crazy with back orders. Black huh?...I fugured white t-shirts, but now were talking polo's? I suppose belt buckles and gear bags will be next? Honestly this thing has just snowballed guys and I thank all of you for your support....Ill get everything handled eventually....Jim
