  1. Mike: Is one cyl lean/dead? If that one cyl is dead and dry then you have a carb problem. I had a similar problem and took the carb apart 50 friggin times....... I ended up having to soak the carbs in a cleaner, taking them completely apart and using an air gun on everything. Sometimes if the carbs sit long enough they will gum up and nothing will clean it out. (easily at least) How long was the bike apart? What is the bike doing now? Just running on one cyl? Any pops from the dead side? Does it feel like it wants to fire? I was at K&K yesterday and they were working on a blaster (bleh). It had all the symptoms of a lean condition. While poking around it, the carb top was leaking air and was partially the problem. The base gasket sucked in and caused the real problem..... So yes carb tops can be an issue. Give me some more info and I'm sure we could figure this out.
  2. Again I will agree here... There is NO seal between the cank halves. Check this link to see http://216.37.204.202/Yamaha_OEM/YamahaATV...pe=13&A=138&B=3 First off do a compression check and a leak down test. What carbs are you running? Stock? What happened that caused you to split the cases? Crank go bad? Lose a piston? Give us a lil more info. Did you verify that your not having an ignition/electrical problem?
  3. coolhead: Those power lines are directly behind my house... and way off limits... Yes you can ride back there but expect the police all over ya if there is more than 1 bike. My brother in law is an enfield cop and he calls me all the time to make sure Im not out there when they are chasing someone. Also.... That trail will lead you to Hall Hill rd in Somers. You can cross over and get out to Rt83 but the new housing development blocks the main trail. Making you have to cross private property. I used to be able to get out to Monson Mass from my back yard.... but new houses everywhere has put a stop to that
  4. eehsnab2; If I could get ahold of the domain password I would have it up and running. I have my site back up, but I cant get it over to the new server until I change the DNS. Guess its time I just take complete control of the site anyways....
  5. I know this isnt the jetting forum but Im trying to help out a friend. I need to know what jetting reccomendations are for a brand enw banshee w/ rocket pipes. The only mods to the bike is +4 advance timing, V-force2 reeds, Uni filter w/ no lid. Stock carbs. Can anyone give me a baseline to start with for jetting? Thanks in advance *Edit* Approximatly sea level to 1000' above w/ temps from high 70's to low-mid 90's
  6. Godd Bless..... RIP.. He will be missed. I was told that around 3:30am this morning he was taken off life support. I dont know if that was a chioce made by doctors or his wife. Knowing how Larry lived his life... I'm sure it was one of his wishes, not to be kept on life supposrt. Anyone who ever had the chance to meet Larry in person can attest to the way he lived his life and how much energy surrounded him............. He will be missed. Truely a sad day for many. God bless
  7. I read elsewhere on the net this morning that Indian Larry was in a bike accident and was thought to be dead... When he is actually in a coma.... Here is what I know I called my customer today (Larry's painter) and asked him how Larry was doing. From what I was told Larry was on his bike doing another stunt as usual. They think that Larry wasnt drinking enough fluids as he should have. While standing on the bike, the bike slowed and bobbled twice. (Paul Cox was riding right beside Larry as usual) Larry hit the ground/pavement head first or the side of his head. The emergency medical team rushed him to the local hospital. According to my customer,,,, Larry may have lost his balance due to heat exhaustion or dehydration. From what I was told when Paul and Larry's wife went to get him at the hospital,, Larry was coherent and awake during the trip to the hospital. He was very upset that he crashed and couldnt understand how or why it happened. Larry's wife and Paul waited a long time at the hospital and couldnt understand what was taking so long. When the Dr came out they had told them that Larry was now in a coma and that they were going to have to operate to on a blood vessel to his brain. If I get anymore info I will try to post it here.... As for Larry..... He is one hell of an individual.. And my familys thoughts and prayers are out to him and his family.
  8. J.J: Your very welcome.... It means a lot to me to be compared at the same level as NYUK's banshee Stan: Now ya tell me! Sheesh! I wish you would keep us up-to-date with the stuff your making! I need to send you a photo of some brake line clamps for a swingarm... If anyone could make some for me.. then I'm sure it would be you And dont remind me about 2006...... Why dont you join us at Dumont for Turkey day?? We will be eating well last I knew
  9. BenBB: Well..... Im going back to Dumont for Turkey day..... but I think the next "official" RF will be in 2006. Unless I can talk the wife into letting me get away for a weekend or so Meat: I agree! I just wish he made a water pump cover..... *hint hint* hehe
  10. I have one or two.. make an offer
  11. Tats: What you see are the probes for the EGT......... They need to get mounted 7" from the piston crown.... I get a lot of questions about them sandoz43: I owe tons to Shawn from K&K..... Great people and he well deserves the plug. Thank you again everyone.... I can say it sure feels good
  12. Yes as you can tell Im having some server issues... I am currently moving the site to a new company/server. But unfortunatly I cant get ahold of the other guy I share the site with so swap the DNS over. The site is back up now. I hope to have my chat back up in a week or two.
  13. Craig over at CP is good people........... I also wouldnt hesitate to send him my motor.
  14. Stan: If SOMEONE had his water pump covers done... I wouldnt have had that "other" one on there! hehe As for the mag....... Do you remember Mike Lyons that was there at RF? He was riding the new TRX450 and his 330-350pv R? He was 2 or 3 trucks-motor homes down from us on the right (facing us) Well............ I've known him via the net for almost 8-9 years. We met several years ago and have been friends since. (he is one of the www.sandbros.com) Well..... he writes all the atv related articles for sand addiction, and has been part of atvconnection.com too. After he saw the pics of my bike and knew that I was bringing it out for RF... he wanted to use the time he had to get someone out for photos (Ash's raptor, Jeff's 450r, and my banshee) and would write the article(s) later. So there was really nothing "I" had to do. As for sandsports...... I've never heard much about them or the people that write their articles... I could get you in touch w/ mike if you are still interested...
  15. thanx fro.... Best bet is get a subscription right off their site... they accept paypal, or you can buy it from one of the vendors listed on their site.. if your close to one of them
  16. sheebansavage: The only thing the flex will do is maybe aid in chip resistance, but that will be for a very short period since 99% of the "flex agents" on the market dissipate soon after the finish is cured. Also... Flex agents can not be used in "spray can" products which is what they are talking about above. If you do happen to roll your bike,,,,,, flex or not these "spray can" products will NOT hold up. Forumulaspeed: Any Maier plastic is a pain.... I havent had a chance to try the new stuff yet but I'd be willing to bet its the same as the old.
  17. Last I knew this mag was only available via subscription or at one of their vendors... Its still a fairly new magazine, so I doubt you would find one at a B&N. This pics are rather big but at least you will be able to read the article. Thank you again everyone.. sure feels good to see it in print
  18. Thank you very much DUNEDEMON.... My shee was supposed to be in the last issue but was bumped due to too much content. I was told it would be in this (aug-sept) issue, which it has.. Over the weekend my friend Mike told me he would send me a few copys since I normally get my subscription late (dam east coast). Yes it was shot at RF/Dumont at the same time they did the red Raptor and Mike on a TRX450R. Funny thing is... I get a call from the wife telling me the mags came in.... and she wanted to open it up and check it out before me...... I'm so PW'd that I let her hehe ooohhh well Stan: There is a real nice clean shot of your clutch cover! I'll try to scan the pages and post them here later. Thanks again everyone......
  19. Yes Maier plastic can be painted... but with a shit ton of work. It is my site that has all the info on painting plastic. I have withheld posting the info to do maier plastic, due to the amount of time/effort involved. (not worth doing in my opinion) I would post a link but for some reason my site is down.
  20. Adding flex will do NOTHING for adheasion and will NOT stop it from flaking off. Cleaning maier plastic with an acetone will only make things worse. The plastic used to make those fenders has a lot of release agent in it. When you wiped it down w/ the acetone it actually pulls more release agent to the surface. Kinda like trying to paint over oil. It just aint gonna happen. There are chemicals out there to clean and treat the surface, it also aids in adheasion. I stand behind what Bigboybanshee said and state that if you want a quality job that will hold up great and last many years then do the job the right way and NOT will a buzz bomb spray can. I do this for a living and trust me when I say it..... Nothing good ever comes out of a spray can.
  21. With what I have learned and have been told about cut T3's............ An overall stock motor will actually be very "pipey" with them... You will have virtually no low end and then an explosive top. My shee is basicly drag ported w/ tons of compression/timing advance. Its set for alchy and gas. With the way Dave (Dave Moore) set my motor up, I have tons of power all over. I would only recommend the T3's if your going for an agressive port/play bike
  22. I dont know how I missed this post... but then again I was driving back from Tx..... Ahhhhh T3's............ Have to be my favorite pipe to date. (cut that is) Lefty gave a great description of how pipes work. The T3's were quite the agressive pipe when left origional, but by removing the 1.5"-2" from the belly really brings them to life. I dont recommend them (cut) on a stock port motor or one thats mildly built. I dont recommend doing this to just any pipe either. Last I knew Mike Hair is responsible for origionally cutting the T3's and if anyone recognizes the name... He now owns CPI. One of these days I'd like to compare my cut T3's to a pair of cpi in-frames. Last I knew I was told they are very similar, but the cpi's have a little more low end while the T3's had more over-rev. Ask anyone thats ridden my shee, or seen it run.... I'm sure you would be supprised at how well these old pipes perform.
  23. I know K&K atv has at least 2 in stock... Last I knew they were 2001 frames in mint shape. Give em a shout tomorrow and ask for Johnny 413-323-7044
  24. I talked to him friday afternoon and again on saturday. The storm was supposed to hit him directly but went a lil farther north. He said they had heavy rain and lots of wind. My mom and sister/kids are in Daytona and according to him they got hit real hard with what he was supposed to see. NYUK: Isnt he working at a car dealer for now? If I was him, I'd go back into roofing for the next few months and cash in!
  25. Ohhhh great..... the man is gonna think he has to put a padlock on his cabinets now. Im not THAT bad Hell...... I'm only a killer 135lbs soaking wet. hehe Dune; Any pics? I hope you took SOME photos while at the dunes....
