Meat: They do look good.......... but I cant ride anything plain... To fully understand...... Ever since my first vehicle I've had to do something to it to make it "different" from everything else. Except for my dodge I drive now, every vehicle I've ever owned has been custom painted. (VW bug - black w/ pearl flames) (toyota pickup - 10" of lift and custom painted) (89 toyota 4-runner - 3" lift and custom painted) (90 4-runner- 6" lift custom painted 13 colors) I could go on... but I think you get the point. It's gotta be different from the rest

Thats what I got.... too bad they wont be silver for very long....

Evil: heheh I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I did I was part of the team over at atvsource.com when they first started out. As a mod in their chat room and in their BBS. There is no way to make everyone happy. After a short period of time many of the origional mods were "relieved" of their command for turning things into a downward spiral. That is a natural feeling, but you have to remember your now someone that people will look up too for guidance and support. There is a great deal of info found here within a select few people that truely enjoy supporting this site as if it was theirs. You dont have to have all the answers, so dont think that you have too. Blue_Duece: Not that we have always seen eye to eye, but your 100% correct. The identities of the mods should have been kept hidden. Let them do their jobs in secret. I know I look at things I post a little different, but I have always been known to "push the envelope" thus my post in the images. Everyone needs to know what their limits are. Im not sure if anyone else has noticed, but I have... This site has become very quiet so to speak. I hope the site doesnt lose that warm cozy feeling

OOoops Sorry I forgot to reply to this the other day. I got them used for 300.00 but they were basicly brand new. I think he had 3 dune rides on them. I wish I could get more for that price.... I know he has another set.. I should see if he would sell them too.

hehe I've worn out that google link I did re-read that post and checked that site once before. Depending on the size container I use to ship my shee will depend on extra room. I also have to ship all my gear and some for the wife since she is coming out too. (our 10 year anniversary) hehe. Thanks for the offer for tires... If you can make it.... I'll even let ya ride my old heap Thanks for the info.

I'll be bringing my fuel w/ us from Vegas. A friend of mine lives in Henderson so we will be coming out w/ him. He has a 42' 5th wheel toy house he will be towing, and I will be pulling his small trailer w/ the motorhome. I can only run race fuel or AV gas. I kinda miss the days of pump gas! I think we should kill all tree huggers

Duece: Thanks for the reply Is there a place in Baker that has a dump station? How is the riding around the dunes? Is it worth it? Since I'm shipping my shee out, I wasnt planning on shipping my spare wheels/tires. I would if its worth it. As of now it looks like there will be at least 20 in our group coming from all over the west coast. Your more than welcome to join in.... Hows the elevation there compared to Glamis? Jetting close to the same? Anyone up for a BHQ ride at Dumont????
-
Ahhhhhhhhh dont believe Banchetta.. The hill isnt vertical! The bottom 15' has a ramp to it The remaining 75' is vertical, and possibly the top 10-20' is almost inverted. At the bottom of the hills are only hard packed gravel w/ sharp rocks. I find is very odd how he rides w/ a pair of nuts the size of watermelons.
-
You mean to tell me NO one knows anything about Dumont? I can understand that Blue_Deuce wouldnt reply to this msg... but no one else has any info? No one else from the west coast wants to get together for a dune trip in March? Anyone???
-
I cant that I got as good a deal as "theNewGuy" But I paid 300.00 for my set..... (front and rear)
-
Ive run Av gas for the last 5+ years. I have #225 compression in each cyl w/ my timing at +4 to +6. Ive had NO problems what so ever. It burns clean and to me it seems a little easier to dial in (jetting) Its half the cost of race gas and gives you the same performance. Your going to get 100 people telling you not to and another 100 people telling you its fine. If someone tells you their bike grenaded from running AV gas... then they didnt have it jetted correctly, or it was on its way out to begin with. My suggesting... Try it. Just check your jetting.

D34: No problem on the info... Your welcome... As for racing it... hehe No. Ive yet to make it to a TT race.... From everything Ive seen and heard of it... I'd love to but then I'd want to start racing. Too much going on right now to even think about that You get your tranny together yet??

Questions for all the Dumont regulars........ I can see that Baker is the closest town to the dunes. How big of a town is it and what is available there? I'll be renting a motorhome in Vegas and may need a dump station and a place to top off the water tanks. Can you ride from the dunes to the Amargosa River? Should I bring a set of dirt tires? Ive been told that there are NO vendors or shops to buy anything at the dunes. (like at Glamis) Is this true? Any tips or info that I should know? Anyone want to have another BHQ ride at Dumont like the one in Glamis?? The dates have already been set for March 3rd to March 7th 2004. If no one wants to make it a "BHQ" ride your still more than welcome to join us.

Frame Differences Between 87 & 91-04
banshee370 replied to Wallrat's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I run an 88 banshee w/ the conversion kit. It was one of the best things I did to my shee. I purchased my kit from ATV racing in Az, but sometime early next year I think Meat will be selling his kits again. Here is the link to the page on my site w/ a few pics of the conversion kit installed. http://www.roostfest.com/jarm_conversion.htm The only other thing I know of thats different on the new frames is the rear mounts for the factory "nerf bars". The older bikes didnt have them. -
JP performance is now known as Lonestar.. If any of you old school guys remember JP used to be "it" for aftermarket suspension. JD performance has nothing to do w/ LSR. Their products are basicly a better quality Burgard or a Leager copy. Good products just not as well known as the rest.
-
I'll find out the deal today about JP and/or JD performance. LSR ONLY builds their own stuff... while many if not most others have their a-arms built elsewhere. I do know that Fireball does a-arms and other parts for MANY MANY different companies.
-
If you have a friend that does plating then I would contact them.... They have acid tanks that strip metals for paint... You could have them strip it and then you could bring it for powdercoating. If you use paint stripper do not rinse with water until your all done. Water neutralizes the stripper so you would otherwise have to dry the frame before re-applying more stripper... Ive never heard of a powdercoater not wanting a frame sand blasted.....

Last I knew K&K atv had 3 or 4 sets of take offs. They also have a set or 2 from the new YFZ (new radials that hook better than the stock banshee rears) I dont know what they get for them but it wouldnt hurt to make a call. I would say email them but they were experiencing PC problems lastnight. Their # is 1-413-323-7044
-
Didnt some of the guys from LSR create the JD performance? Or am I backwards.. JD became LSR? Or am I REALLY confused and it was JP performance? Someone has to know... As for ASR......... If that place was on fire I wouldnt piss on them to put it out. Kip is a piece of shit in my book. He has flat out lied and screwed TONS of people out of their hard earned $. When he owned Last Rebel Racing he owed LSR 40,000.00$++ and LSR almost went out of business because of it. Kip decided to start ASR to compete against LSR... He "claims" his parts are of the same quality, when they are actually shit. If anyone is up for some reading on ASR.. go to atvconnections's forums and do a search for Last Rebel racing, ASR, or Kip. You read through that and still buy from him.. then you deserve to get screwed.

Bhq Trivia.. Do You Have What It Takes?
banshee370 replied to banshee370's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Stan: Ya know..... ya could have blown off the gym for one night! Sheesh. I cant make things easy... How fun would that be. -
Virtualbat: Thank you! If my brain didnt feal like it was going to explode this week then I would have remembered it was by SEM. I too gave up painting everyday.... Its very tempting to get back into it because the $ can be very good (at the right shop) but my health is worth more Another tip to stripping the plastic is to lightly rough up the finish(paint) with some 180g sand paper. (I normally recommend 80g but I dont want anyone digging too deep and hitting the plastic w/ 80g paper) Make sure you rough it up a little before you apply the paint stripper. This helps the paint stripper to work faster and easier since it has to get under the finish to remove it.

That was the big thing everyone was stumbling on.... The colors on the plastic was a close second. Great job everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed this..
