  1. True that B. Don't split the cases yet Justintoxicated, or back out just yet, there's still time...but tha clock is tickin'. Walter, is there a list of contacts anywhere? I was just thinkin' it might be a good idea to have some phone numbers in a handy list I could print out just in case...ya know if my tranny drops out of the truck 10 miles from Vegas, who might I be able to call? I dunno if posting cell numbers in a public forum or on the rf page is a no-no, maybe on the email list? Just a thought, and I certainly wouldn't mind if anyone wanted to call me for help or planning how to get there... BenBB: Thats a great idea.. Joining the email list would be a great way for everyone to stay in contact. (I do warn people that everyone currently part of the email list are close friends. Were all from different areas of the US, but stay in close contact via the list. From time to time its just useless banter between friends just as it is here. BUT when a trip is planned.. it's a great tool to stay connected.) A phone # list is a great idea that can be REAL handy in a pinch. It can be handled a few different ways.. I could create a hidden page on my site for ONLY those that are going w/ everyones names/phone #'s/Cell #'s/ addresses. It would also be a VERY good idea to have a contact name incase of an emergency (wife/parents/guardian/friend/relative). I can only hope that we NEVER EVER have to use it... but something that could be good to have. We should also plan a night or two for everyone to join chat to go over what ever anyone has questions on.... Anyone interested? If so please email me your contact info since my inbox here is normally full mp350@roostfest.com
  2. No one is getting off THAT easy.. If you dont want to go just say so.... If its help you need.. then rely on us to help ya (except for $ that is)
  3. Justin: It sounds like just an O-ring. Just because its spitting water from the pipes and head does not mean a bad crank seal. The crank seals are no where near the coolant anyways. If you need some o-rings let me know.. I have a few spare sets... Let me know which ones are bad and I will send some off to ya.
  4. You forget that I know how you drive! I know your capable of it.... but Not only do I care if my shee makes it... but you need to make it too.... AND be able to enjoy yourself once you get there. If it wasnt for all the stops I think you could do it in less.... but we'll see
  5. I'm ALL over those! I may need at least 2 or 3 myself So I best get off my ass and get that PC to ya
  6. Boonman and Fixitrod: Can you please prvt msg me your addresses... I'm trying to help Banchetta w/ maps and directions w/ the program I have. We spent a good amount of time on the phone lastnight trying to plan everything out. With what we figured he will be at my house sunday night (Feb 29) and once he picks my shee up he will then leave for Boonman's (hopefully arriving by around midnight +\-) We both feel that by leaving a day early or even a night early he can beat some of the rush hour traffic in some areas. Also being that its March and who knows what the weather can be especially up in Buffalo and around Chicago. Banchetta: My buddy that has made the trip out to Glamis twice told me that it is possible to make it in 48hrs... If ALL you do is stop for gas/food/shit and nothing else. That is also not in the winter, Or going near Buffalo/Chicago. He does NOT recommend trying to make it in 48hrs.
  7. Chase: get ur shit in gear and lets go! I'll see whats up w/ your shocks today..... Roostfest Dumont March 3rd to March 7th! 48 days, 5 hours, 41 minutes, and 16 seconds left until ROOSTFEST 2004 Dumont Not that I am counting down or anything
  8. 00Banshee: Last I knew they dont make/sell those old banshee kits... They will be making the new flame kits for the banshee very soon.... Not soon enuf if you ask me.. I may even get another set of plastics JUST for the sticker kit
  9. Wallrat: I just dont want anyone to get offended... I know how some people can get offended by the smallest things... and thats NOT my intentions. I dont think it will be a problem for everyone.... but I want to make it as easy as possible for everyone... Some of the guys going will be arriving there on the 2nd. It just gets a lil crazy when I am doing the same here as with our email list. The email list seems to be a little faster for everyone to reply and stay up to date.... Thanks again
  10. Wallrat: Thanks for the map/pic/desription. I posted it to the email list for their comments... My friend I will be going with, will be there this weekend. He said he will try to get some GPS points mapped out for us. Dont take this the wrong way but here is what he posted in return.... (I've never been there so I dont know what is what and where is what Walt, that pic and statement are not really accurate. # 4 outhouse is to the left side of the main dirt road and out about 1/4 mile. we will be about 300 feet (EST) n/w of it. I will draw a map, get some pics and try to get exact GPS for you all and post Monday or Tues. ynot This is what was posted from another friend... I had a cheapass roostfest banner made for New Years that he will have hung by his trailer.. From the looks of that pic our camp will be more down the road and on the other side. Also I will have the RF banner hanging up in plain view from the road. or aimed toward the road anyway. I'll have it hung on my trailer (easy to spot as it has no fender on this side) which will also have this 22' flag pole on it: http://www.sandbros.com/files/mikestrailer/trailer.JPG Speaking of flags I will have a bunch of these forsale at RF. They are telescoping fiberglass poles which compact down to 4'. They come with a 'holder' which is either mounted to the trailer or to a ladder on your trailer.$70 each. They are very strong! Mike Hopefully by early next week I will have a good map for everyone and maybe some pics of trucks/trailers to look for.
  11. Bignasty1: I know not everyone will agree with my opinion here.... so take it for what its worth.... I've been in the automotive business for the last 20 years... I've worked on almost every vehicle made.... First off... The trannys in them are weak. I forget what motor it is... but one of them has had its share of problems too... Another thing to remember is that right around 70k on any vehicle is what I call the breaking point... Its about the time when most things start to go wrong... front suspension (balljoints tie rods, axles wheel bearings) You also need to get a good look at the brakes... I could go on but I dont want anyone to think I am picking on Ford's (they all have their issues.. chevy, ford chry-dodge) If it was me... I would look at a different SUV... I'm not fond of the expeditions
  12. Wallrat Great post w/ GPS Coordinates.... I think that last one will help. Im not sure if this will help but a friend of mine that I will be with posted this from the email list.. Does this sound familiar? Or a decent spot to camp? regarding campspot. I am going this weekend and will take pictures of my regular camping spot. it's g\fairly close to the blm outhouse for any tenters and far enough away from the dunes to keep the rookies from getting stuck. I usually camp northeast of the #4 outhouse but far enough to be away from traffic. I will have to draw a map and figure out how to get it scanned for posting. Now as for desert riding.... I've been thinking about bringing my dirt tires, but that will depend on the size of the container my shee ships in. I doubt my paddles will last very long over those rocks 50 days, 5 hours, 56 minutes, and 59 seconds left until ROOSTFEST 2004 Dumont.................
  13. No they are NOT... They advertise them as being welded but do NOT come that way. Kinda shitty if ya ask me!
  14. I know this is going to sound odd..... But who recorded Dire Straits's music? I've been helping a friend tune his car stereo, and build another system. We have been using a Dire Straits cd and I can not believe how clean and clear the music is... I listen to all kinds of music, but some of what is recorded today sounds like hell.... The recordings are what kills it (my opinion) I would probably buy more cd's if they didnt sound like such shit. btw: great lookin studio Duece
  15. mrmatt: He has no room to talk.... he has been a Zuki rider ever since I've known him..... He used to have a banshee but LOVED his zukis....... He just went to the YFZ. I should post some pics... but I dont know how he would like it.... All of you that will make it..... well........ Lets just say you WILL want to spend a night around the campfire!!
  16. fixitrod: Let me see what I can do in the next few days.... I may be able to get ahold of some paddles... I dont know what they are or sizes... but I'll let ya know.
  17. I dont know about the rest of you........ but this is all I can think about all day long! Anyone here part of the email list on my site? A few of the "honda" guys have been asking where/why are all the banshee's coming from. One guy even stated he was going to mount a windshield to the front of his new YFZ to keep him safe from all the "falling parts" Dont take any offense to it.... They are all GREAT people too! (I think they are all jealous) and I am sure a few of you guys will fit RIGHT in... Especially Stan On a side note............ It's GREAT to see everyone coming together to help each other out. I hope everyone thats trying to make it.... Makes it! I'm sure this will be a very memorable trip for EVERYONE! As for necessary info...... Here is a snip from an email.... As soon as I have more info on a campsite/location I will post the info here 51 days, 15 hours, 42 minutes, and 44 seconds left until ROOSTFEST 2004 Dumont...........................

My 2 boys were in the 20lb range at 3 months too... and I have no idea where it comes from... Especially since we have a mail lady, the UPS dude is into rainbows and other men, and the FedEx guy is just downright nasty.... My wife swears they are mine... (Im 130 lbs soaking wet w/ bricks in my pockets)

  21. Now would I do that??? I'm insulted! I cant believe you would think that I would try to shame you into going to one of THE BEST RIDE TRIPS ever.... The chance to meet some of the best people on the board... A full throttle, eye watering, shot up a dune to twist the bars, showering sand into a perfect roost, to then come back down the hill at blistering speeds..........Ride in some of the best dunes in North America, With one of the best atv's ever made Nahhhh I wouldnt shame ANYONE into that! Nope NOT me!

  23. MrMatt: I need to update my site (roostfest) so as of right now their names are not listed. (they will be soon) As for spark arrestors...... I have not heard of anyone being checked for it. BUT thats not to say they cant. From what I was told... If your caught being a jackass then they can ticket you. Dont be a jackass and I doubt you will have any problems
