Ohh yea your right..... paint wont hold up and will chip/peal. I hate to argue that one but I will first paint job that was 4 years old in this pic. It had been through 3 seasons of trails and 4 dune trips More recent pic clean Dirty Its now seen 6 dune trips, 4 trail rides and several local rides.... and it has 1 chip! As for how to do yours.... Its not cheap nor easy. I suggest if you plan to do it... spend the time and $ to do it right otherwise it will NOT hold up.

the only difference in spindles is where the caliper mounts. The calipers on the 87-90 shees are bigger than the newer ones. All the lower control arms are the same. If all your doing is going to a-arms from j-arms then your fine. Its if you were changing spindles since the calipers are different.

Stan: The heat does not bother me.. its the humidity here that I cant take anymore. When you wake up in the morning, and its 80 deg w/ 98% humidity.... nahh ive had enuf! Thanks guys! I hope once the dust settles I will get a little more time to check in. The next 2-3 months will just be pure hell..... but it will be worth it in the end. Stan: She came to me! I just thought I'd pop in and let the few people I havent had a chance to talk with lately, know that in moving west! I officially gave my notice to my boss and will be moving to Vegas in roughly 2 weeks..... It took me roughly 8 or 9 years to talk my wife into moving (im persistant) and it finally paid off. I'll now be working for PPG as a territory manager in the Las Vegas market. The roughest part is I'll be out there alone for the next 5 months until my boys are out of school in June.(im still hoping that Brooke will come visit me!) Then the rest of the family will join me. Hopefully I'll be able to hook up w/ BenBB, Stan, Wallrat, and a few others to hit some sand in the future! I hope everyone had a happy and safe New Years! I hope I'll be back in the next week or so... maybe I'll vist here a lil more if no one minds....

Well.. your lucky its apart.. and the fact that the outer race is very brittle. You should be able to break it apart easily. good luck! Been there done that.... a few times! I actually enjoy tearing it down from time to time...

That bearing is a huge PITA to take out! The last time I had to do one I had to air chissel it out. I hope your not trying to change this while the motor is together? What happens is the steel liner that holds the needle bearings ends up fusing itself to the aluminum case half. Most pullers like you stated will only make things worse. I replaced one once that I ended up busting it apart with a hammer and screw driver. I doubt you will be able to get it out in one piece.
