  1. happy birthday walter

  3. I cant remember if the 96 or 97 was the cut off for the vortec motor. If its a vortec, then it has a plastic upper plennum (intake manifold) It is very common for the fuel pressure regulator starts leaking. (found under the intake) Or the fuel pump. I had the same problem as you described with my 99 tahoe and it was the fuel filter. Not long after my fuel pump died. The first thing I would recommend you to do would be to check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail/intake. Have you ever checked your intake gasket? How many miles on the truck? It is VERY common on the vortec's to suck the intake gasket at the back. One other thing to check would be the catalytic converter. If its clogged then it could cause the same symptoms as you stated above. When was the last time it was tuned up? (cap, rotor, wires, plugs) check out www.fullsizechevy.com Lots of good info there
  4. Maybe the planets are aligned....... but I completely agree with Denny on this. I too have an LSR and have yet to have a problem with it. But hands down the best axle I've seen, is the RPM Dominator. Remember you get what you pay for. I've seen almost every axle busted or bent, and the RPM has to have the best reputation. They all with give under extreme abuse.
  5. Happy B-day dude!!! As for buying a new R....... cant hate ya for that! We all come to realize that the banshee isnt always the best machine for some terrain. And with these new fangled 4 strokes....... they sure are a blast to ride! Take care and keep the rubber side down
  6. Matt: I've been running an LSR hub on mine for several years now. I have yet to have a problem with it. LSR's have a steel insert for the splines.
  7. I wasnt about to give out this info but for those of you that may get to this before me. 250R frames use square tube..... 400ex uses round tube. Now what would be easier to fab up to a banshee frame? Someone has already been doing these mods so I cant see it being all that hard. I know I'd be taking mad pics during the process. If I wasnt in the middle of a move across country I'd be lookin for an EX frame now. I'm sure I'll be able to find a beater out west, now I just need the time and $,,,,, and time.
  8. Ahhhhhhhhhh the Network 54 days. Brings a tear to my eye. Chozen1; let me know if I can be of anymore help with your move. RZ: I gotta give ya something towards them, I dont care about the time... Hell I've been soo busy too. Its all good. Check ur PM and I'll send you my new addy. THANK YOU! pjw! How the hell you been dude? Long time no talk Jare77: I've talked with Crash a few times over the last year or so, I will see if I can find his email addy when I get back to vegas. He was supposed to come out to Dumont last T-day but was unable to with his motor down. Last I knew he was building another badass motor. We should try and resurrect some of our long lost members. Anyone know how to get ahold of Jethro? Hows school BG? Almost ready to start working? /me heart brooke
  9. My first question is Are those cyls set up for a 7 mil rank? Are you running a spacerplate? Whats your compression at?
  10. Thanks tithead! Feels good to be back.... I just hope the next few months go fast and w.o a hitch so i can get back here on a schedule Scott; no better school than the school of hard knocks! Everything else is over rated chozen1: As stan said they can bite you in the ass.... I think they have their place if you plan to refi, or relocate again before the loan matures. Let me know if your interested and I will get you his contact info. After talking with him there are a LOT of jackass' in the vegas market that will try to juice ya, so you have to be carefull who you deal with out there. Let me know when you get settled in and we will hit Dumont! RZ: nice to see you around too! What have you been up too? You still hanging out over at Planetsand? Let me know what I owe you for the griles..and I'll send you my new address so I can get them out west. Thank you again!
  11. Stan: Thats the difference with riding with prople that know the area better than the back of their hand. They make it look like its a walk in the park. I cant remember the last time I've been able to ride WFO 5th and 6th gear flat out..... God I'm gettin a woodie thinkin about it! Even tho the major part of my move may be in the middle of June... I'm gonna do my best to make the St.A's trip. Even if I have to drive up for the weekend. (Yes I will drive 900 miles to ride the weekend! Your more than welcome to join us Stan!
  12. Hey Chozen1! We will have to get together sometime..... I'm gonna be burried in shit (work and buying/selling a house) for the next few months. But we will have time next season to dune! I just started visiting BHQ again recently, and hope to spend a little more time here. That will depend on my schedule tho. I have a crew of riding buddys here... Plus there is www.dumontduneriders.com with another bunch of good people. I've ridden with them boys too.... Good god do they like to party at night! Whats makin ya move to Vegas? If you cover 13 states then what the hell do you do for a living?? Good god thats one hell of a territory! Do you already have a place or are you still looking for a house? I have a friend that does mortgages so let me know and I will hook you up. He is TOP KNOTCH and is DAM good people. The housing market has slowed down out here and currently there are 1800 house on the market. Thats unheard of for Vegas. Its a buyers market for once. Keep in touch and we will have to get together sometime. Brooke: When am I picking you up at the airport? As for having 10 wives!!! The ONE I have now drives me insane... I cant imagine having 9 more! All one needs is a good mistress on the side...
  13. Mike: I've wanted a TRUE LT on my shee for a LONG ass time.... I just cant see spending the $ on whats available when its almost no better than standard travel. Trust me I will have one if I can just get some time and $ to play with it. I may have to find a spare frame to mess with. If I do... You know I will put all the details on my site. Brooke: I have a prize for ya! Payoff is at the end btw honey... site is back up! www.roostfest.net Duece: Thanks for the welcomed return.. Only place ive had the pleasure to ride so far is Dumont.... Once i get settled out there I'll be lookin for more places to ride. Rocks are no worse than back east... Hell riding down Denny's way you need 1/4" plate steel skid plates.
  14. I have a set of mohawks that are basicly brand new. After riding several other bikes with different tires I want to make the switch. Just the weight savings is good, but I want something with better performance. When I get a chance to look into tire prices I may sell my Mohawks... If interested let me know and maybe we could make a deal. As for the diff....... everyone here is spot on... Smoothies I think are best for straight line drags. If your into hard core duning then I dont think they would be your best bet. You wont have the control for tighter turning because the smoothies will just wash out from under you, and "push" in the corners. fasterthanU: Check your steering stop, If your bars are turning too much then thats why the steering locks on you. Mine used to do the same too.
  15. While its NOT glamis... I will give my opinion. (for what ever thats worth) I'm moving to Vegas myself and have been to dumont 5 times in the last 2 months. I've been to both Mother G and Dumont. Yes Dumont is smaller, but it makes up for the size in hills, bowls, and just kick ass riding. Since its smaller there are less people there (off weekend) Any big weekend will be chaos in either place. What John was trying to explain above is its mainly Razors in Dumont where Mother G has a lot of rolling hills. I've had many people in the past tell me that Dumont is very dangerous and not for amatures. While I may agree with that I look at it as predictable. If you acknowledge that almost every hill you climb is a razor then you dont have to worry. Approach all hills as a razor and with caution. But once you get to know the area,,, Its hard to beat. I'm not saying its better or worse than Mother G, but being that its 100 miles from Vegas... How can you go wrong? If your into the party scene, and actually enjoy hanging out with the crazies... then Mother G is for you. Here are some pics from RF04 http://www.roostfest.net/images/ride%20trips/roostfest04/
