2. ok cool, thats what I was told before. I thought it mighta went deeper than that.  Like I said in the old long travel thread, I shoulda used more "smilies" to show walter I wasnt being a jerk.  Im thinkin' tho..... what snide comments on the side did I make, and when did I cower ...... and what the hell are you talking about "wanting pity" anyways    Whenever I would try to explain my postings\stand up for myself, Id get the "whiney bitch" shit you give me.  I asked Walt what comments he didnt like, and he never responded.    I apoligized to the guy for pissing him off for whatever reason he got pissed off, and I get "I want pity".  I think I pissed him off when I said that Gibson products were expensive and they're geared more towards the full time quad racer than the rec rider.  Thats about as snide as it gets and frankly there's nothing wrong with that comment and it wasnt said under my breath.  I dunno man.  Its fuckin' weird that he get so worked up that he wont' even visit or post here anymore.  We cant even agree to disagree, cause we agree on just about everything that was discussed about front suspension.  I just kept asking more questions and he thought I was making snide comments I guess.  WTF walter... how am I, just an average guy with a high school education, working a blue color job... how am I susposed to know all this crap about frame geometery and angles and flag placement without asking my questions.  If anyone here has been reading my posts for the past 5 years, they should know I ask alot of questions.  My thoughts are.... that I asked Walter to many questions, asked him too many times to explain things and he took it as... me trying to fuck with him.  When I tried to make amends, I get told I was being coy and looking for pity.  All I wanna do is work 40hrs a week, be a good dad to my son, ride my quads and have fun chatting about them here at bhq. I have no alterier(sp) motives to chip away at someones character.  Anyways..... monkeyman I wanna be your buddy, lets start fresh.

A word of wisdom to everyone here.  A little "ball bustin" could get you in alot of trouble.  Watch what you type, what could mean one thing to you, could mean something totally different to someone else.  A'la Loco's thread about de-tuned cub cylinders.  His first post in that thread seemed very harmless to me and next thing ya know there's guys jumpin' all over him. Its fuckin' wrong man.  never take this shit too seriously and keep smiling.

lets get back on subject now  .  sorry for hijacking the thread(not looking for pity :P )

  4. I'm a hair on the tall side and the 450r feels better to me... but it's a dog compared to the yfz. I personally don't like the way any of them feel stock... with a +1stem and cr-hi bends the yfz is a helluva mo betta. Basically... I just don't like stock suspension... im spoiled.... everybike I ride stock feelsl like it has 2x4's for shocks and they just crumble on a hard landing. If your intrested in buying an new ride and your current one has aftermarket anything... stop riding for about a month or so and then test ride...Just my .02.

  6. took her riding today with a few friends and she rode a blaster didnt like it. rode a warrior didnt like it..she dosnt want a honda (ok i dont want a honda) so i guess she gets the z400..she likes the craptor now too so its the craptor or z400..what do i get??

    391290

z400 has nice ergos., nice suspension, slow and not as wheelie happy as the craptor.... craptor is faster, narrower, harder to ride, feelsl like a sawhorse on wheels.... I vote for the zuk.

  7. i would never in my life pay that much for arms. to me, 4130 chromoly tig welded is 4130 chromoly tig welded...get my point? among the big name guys i seriously doubt that there is that much difference in strength and quality. i had my new craptor arms custom built with whatever i wanted for 500 bucks.they are 4130 chromoly tig welded. i would trust them just as much as roll, lsr, or anyone else for that matter...

meat, im with you man. fuck paying arm and leg prices when the "smaller" companies can produce the same thing. ill prolly never run roll stuff just because of their price. quicksand and eyeball are less known but to me have withstood my tests. i have never broke one of their products...ill stick with them for now..

I didn't say I paid it... the shit is over-priced and that's all there is to it.

  8. Yep. I think my wife is the only one that actually enjoys a stock bike. Anything else is too much for her. She can still ride like a maniac and keeps up great though.

But the first thing I think of when I see a new bike, or anything new, is what can I do to make it better. They NEVER make it perfect from the factory. Thats why machine shops exist.

I dont know if I dare ask, but are 450's trail friendly?

    :D

    390690

    My 450 isn't trail friendly  .

  9. They can charge that much b/c they know people will pay it... same reason cd's are 18$ and why fuckin 30 packs of beer are up to 25$ now. The arms that i'm running (jrd) work with custom axis... just like elka/roll setup. They're ment for each other... my fuckin front end cost a hair under 3000$.

  10. It's gonna take more than just a deep pocket to make a 'shee competitive on a track.... You have to be a damn good rider if you ever plan on making it outa the amateur B class. Running a 380lb machine with the geometry of a M1 tank against the new 450's isn't a easy task by no means...
