I would probably wait until you could afford some better shocks, you won't regret it. However, for a-arms here's a link to quicksand arms at a dirt cheap price.
I ran quicksand on my 'shee... they're just as good quality as roll... just 400$ cheaper....

Well i'd have them setup for woods riding... the problem with buying shocks off ebay like that is you have no clue who they're coming from.... the valving is almost impossible to get right... your best off buying them direct from the manufactuer or a race shop that's licensed to sell/rework the shock... IMO I'd go with some tcs triple rates with remote rezzies.... the remotes are nice to have for if/when you roll over you cut a hose instead of busting a rezzie... TCS tend to run a little cheaper than axis, ohlins, and PEP...
The TCS's should run you right about 750$ brand new... as for a-arms you can find them used... save around 200$... if you want new that's an extra 550$
Legacy ATV, East Coast Atv, ATV Four Play, Precision Concepts, Baldwin Racing and J-H racing are all great race shops...

Wait until you see how fast they wear :baseball_bat: :baseball_bat: :baseball_bat:
Jeff, The mx6 is the 2006 version of the holeshot.. it's suppose to be like 15% lighter and wear like the klaws... too bad nobody at the track runs itp unless they're sponsored by them...

i also noticed if you can stay in front of everyone else you dont need them
That's the plan... the guys I practice with are fuckin narly though.... I don't run shock covers... for one they look stupid as hell on LT shocks unless you run the quad tech ones... which are over-priced and damn near pointless... Just wash your quad and keep it oiled....
Mike

Why would you do that :baseball_bat: ?

Works AT steelers are bottom of the barrel in the shock world... They can valve them for whatever weight/riding style you want... Tell us what the majority of the riding you do is.... Then we'll go from there... shocks can range anywhere from 320$ to 1700$...

joke joke joke arms. that guy has no idea hoe to build arms. lets start with the shocks rubbing on the upper arm. how about those shitty hiems that misalign before the shock is full bump. beware you get what you pay for. maybe other people have a good experience but imo they blow :yankyank:
Word... those things are bad news bears...

Ok here are two pictures. one is of the seal head with necessary groove cut into it. this should give a pretty clear of whats needed and ill explain why if anyone has questions. the second is of the stock valve. the third is of the gold valve.
and it wont let me post them, so if someone wants to help me out.............
bustedshocks111@yahoo.com ... I'll hook it up cole...

Thanks for the reply guys. I ended up buying the arms with crome tie rods and axis fully adjustable long travel shocks (1 ride on them) w/shock covers for 1400.
That's a pretty good deal....

"You have to use long travel shock with this front end. Elka is the shock company that we recommend do to all of our development with" straight from roll design
Those shocks are LT.. crop a pic of your frontend and put it next to that one.. you'll see the difference... Those are were actually better than I was expecting for e-bay.... 650$ is still tops though... mainly b/c roll stuff is overpriced to begin with.... Not to mention another 800+ for some LT banshee shocks... Just something to kick around... You are definately in the right track for you 'shee... I'm still against the LT setup on them though....
Just a thought.. you could get some BRAND NEW quicksand arms for 550 plus shipping with chrome uppers... 600$ for full chrome... then drop about 750$ on a decent set of used shocks and a rebuild for them... have a whole new front end for about the price that's gonna cost you when it's all said and done... You can usally pick up a used aftermarket rear for about 500$ too...

Umm Yeah, I agree totally. I cant stand that bitch of a host. Parades around like he knows whats hes talkin about. They make something that should never have drama, have nothing but drama. All this he said she said, wa wa crap. I agree it should ALL be heads up. Not sure why they call it pinks when I have seen several episodes where they let the losers keep their cars. They have NO organized system of what they are doing as trex mentioned. I have seen some sweet cars on there but there is to much lame shit for me to stomach that show..
RIPPEN
Took the words out of my mouth.... deadliest catch is good tv...

That guys is out of his mind... they are barely over 1$k brand new...
BTW: Those sure don't look like standard travel shocks to me... I don't even think that would work...
Mike

The only way I would attempt this too is if I had access to a race shop like you do... I've seen it done before and it's quite simple.... I could see how it would be extremely time consuming your first time... mark baldwin rebuilt my buddies shock in 30 mins at the tx national....
BTW, Cole... great post... I don't have the power to make it a sticky or it'd be stuck...

Be sure to snap some pics of the seal head process... everything else is easy cheese.... I've always wanted to do a shock using one of those race tech kits... then again.... I'm lazy as hell and time is money...
Mike

yea their lobo II's but the guy is using a std travel shocks so I'm guessing the arms are not long travel.
HUH!?.... Hook it up with a link to the auction when you get time.... If they are what you say they're worth 500$ + shipping...

I got up about 15-20ft by mistake, ended up in a nice huge ditch. Couple of broken bones and a complete rebuild later... IM done getting high
Accidental air is the worst.... 5 ft feels like 15 if your not ready for it...

Ummmk...I wonder if your "Super Duper" bike will keep up with Ford gt's? Only bustin man
Ill get some video of the drag races with the yz450 my shee and the Kx ASAP
Do you mean yfz????... if you beat a yz450 on a piped 'shee one of two things are true...
1. that guy sucks balls at riding and should stick to volleyball
2. you have the baddest piped 'shee on the planet..
I never said anything about my bike being fast either... IMO slow unless your sporting at least a +4 swinger...

crf will smoke a banshee i have both bone stock 04 crf450. 00 banshee with t5 and 2-1 35mm. no comparison. crfs rip 217lbs 46+hp at the wheel stock
yz450s only have 4 gears so i dont doubt you can pass em on a banshee.
yz426s are turds
I've rode a 4speed yz hybrid... really sweet once you get use to it... Top speed is not affected by much either... My crf hybrid stock burned the shit out my 'shee... it had every bolt on motor mod possible.... My long time friend has a 03 crf with an fmf pipe and kibble's.... if you have a production quad it's pointless to even try to run him... You can't fuck with that power/weight ratio....

They Are quick bikes, yet I have friends who are big into the MX scene, one has a KX 250 the other has a yz 450, when they drag they are even off the line and the KX slowly pulls away for the last 100 feet of the race they were dragging around 300 feet. I raced the yz 450 too we were going from a 20 mph start and he accelerated like a motherfucker, but I soon caught up and passed. From what I see they are as quick as hell, even though I beat it I do not think I would beat it 10 out of 10 times
Bullshit...

What does it matter unless you don't like them? I've run cr-hi bends on every sport quad i've had...
Mike
-
Your best off not even looking into front end componets unless your sittin on at least 800$.... That's if your scraping it together with used shit through e-bay... Then again.. the shocks you buy prolly won't be setup for what you want so there's another 300$ for a rebuild...

i want one..
Bottom of third... barely on the gas for that jump.... crfs are infuckingsane...

About to Purchase New Tires
in Banshee Repairs and Mods

Like I said... nobody runs them :baseball_wibble: ... I'll never run anything but the klaws... The holeshot mx fronts I had were the worst tires i've ever ran... next to grooved radials...
