  1. No one ever said I was a professional... FWIW, I just sent a good friend to call Gorr and he tried for 3 days and never could get ahold of anyone at their number. I have him calling FASTOYS instead. He's looking for a mild 4 mil trail/dune setup like exactly what you all are talking about. He's even going to try to use the single carb, which I'm for. I know most or 99% would say... WHAT?? but I feel for what he wants, it might work out good for him.
  2. Stephen was running a stock crank with his. Stock ports. Gorr ports. You can see they're a little bigger overall, but the shaping is perfecto. Size isn't always what matters... true dat! I can tell you point blank, the mother f'ers would flat out run.
  3. I'll give you $2,100 for it and come pick it up.
  4. No changes will be necessary with timing changes alone. Also, if your going to make the change, go ahead and make it worthwhile; like +6.
  5. well, it hurts to get sand in the eyes...
  6. two words = caller ID j/k I got a new phone and I'm 90% sure your # is on there. I'll give you a shout this weekend....
  7. all you guys are just in denial, but I'll let you keep your "one with the banshee" feelings... racing has been good, but so far this year our company is busting at the seams and don't think I'll have a lot of time to race, at least the first few. We've been working Saturdays and a lot of Sundays. I see this place hasn't changed..... j/k When's the next LS trip? I'm going in March sometime, not sure when yet.
  8. my son had a very small indoor quad at like 1 and a half or maybe close to 2. around 2 and a half, got the green Power wheels KFX dealio. Had it for a year and kicked ass on it. This past xmas, he was 3 and a half and got a little chinese 50cc. He's going really really good on it.
  9. try going up one size on the main when you get a chance and see if it gets better. i'm betting that it will.
  10. I'm not talkin bout no hybrid thingamajiggers, real Honda power baby!
  11. Remove the TORS. Search = TORS Remove the snorkel on the airbox lid. If you'd like some almost free power, remove the lid and jet up a couple sizes. Get the mains from the dealer, shouldn't cost much. Drain all the coolant and replace with Engine Ice. Search = Engine Ice If it's used, replace the engine oil immediately and replace the spark plugs. Another thing you should do is get a billet airfilter clamp and new filter to use. The stocker has a bad habit of leaking. Search = Pro Design filter
  12. All you guys suck. Your banshees suck and my Honda can whoop all your asses!
  13. **EDIT** Never mind... read something wrong.....
  14. I agree with Banchetta's needle statement. I don't believe CEK's belong on these machines with a stock port... Here's my suggestion, uneducated probably, but here it is anyways. Stock ports DEK for smaller twin carbs and EEK for single carb application. Porting (more than a cleanup) DEK for the twins and single. I just don't think the CEK lets enough fuel through.
  15. ok, where's your needle set at? try the 3rd clip? I'm going to have to say, I'm not sure how the stock silencers are going to affect the jetting. If they have some restrictions to them, which I bet they do, it'll affect jetting adversely. I'm going to say I feel you should be around the 240 range. Do you have your airbox lid on? If so, take it off and try some testing. Is your filter clean? Do you have new plugs in there, try some if not. Typically the Dynoport 2-1 jetting is in the 260 to 270 range. But if the airbox lid and snorkel is still on, then that'll take a few away. Go to the FAQ sections and search some for plug reading, plug chop, plug test to learn how to read your plugs. That'll give you the most info for jetting and knowing what changes are needed.
  16. I was going to say start at 320, I just have a hard time believing that the stock ports need more than that. 260 does sound lean.
  17. Yes, what he said. Also, it's hard for ANYONE other than the builder to tell you where you'll be with portwork. Porting varies SOOOO much. You could be at a 320 main or a 400 main, no one knows. Best thing to do when you don't know, is try something on the rich side but in the middle area, like maybe a 350 or 360 and do a plug check. From there, you'll probably be able to tell what you need. The pilot shouldn't change much, maybe a size. Best to fire it up and see how many kicks to cold start, warm start and how it idles. Basically, your tuning the pilot for idling and starting. The needle and main take care of everything else.
  18. Pilot: 48, 50 or 52. No 62, that's way too rich unless something's wrong. You'll probably need a 48 or 50. Needle: The DEK should be fine with a duneport, just depends on how aggressive. Try the 4th clip. Mains: The ones your taking should work. I doubt you'll be below a 190 with portwork, but it's possible. I would've said take 175 to 210 and you might end up in the 195 to 205 area. Keep in mind, ALL portwork is different, so the main jet stuff is totally speculation. Your portwork can make a lot of difference. It all has to do with vacuum. If the portwork is done right and your getting good flow (good doesn't mean volume, it means speed), then the vacuum will be there and you shouldn't need a huge main. If you find yourself needing a huge main (215+), try going to an EEK needle and then down on the main size some.
  19. What needle is in there? You ought to check, because chances are, you have a DEK. With stock porting, an EEK makes a lot of difference with the single carb setup. This has to do with vacuum through the large single carb. Since there's less vacuum, the richer needle lets more fuel through and gets the motor the fuel it needs. You can get the EEK needle from carbparts.com for just a few bucks and it'll make a lot of difference. When you step up the portwork, you'll get more vacuum and can go back to the DEK needle. Oh, and use the same clip position you did for the DEK. Probably the 4th.
  20. I'm going to guess that it has to do with the winter temps. Since it's gotten colder, the air has gotten denser and your motor is wanting a tad more fuel. If you were on the line of being lean before, now you really are, in regards to the pilot circuit. Go up one size on the pilot jet(s) and see if that resolves it. How many kicks does it take to fire it up when it's cold? warm?
  21. If you go to sudco.com you can find a parts listing for each of these carbs. just cross-reference the slide part number and see if they're the same. I think the 33 to 39 share the same parts mostly and above that, parts change, but I'm not sure.
  22. The problem with a 38mm, especially with stock porting, is that you'll have a vacuum issue at lower rpms. You could have a hard time jetting the needle and getting it to idle properly. Your low end could still suffer some due to the vacuum issue. It should pick up in the midrange and still give you smoother power than a pair of 35's, but remember that you need vacuum to have decent low end. The thing about duals is they provide enough vacuum in the lowend, but still breathe up top. That's something no one can answer, you just have to try it and see how it performs.
  23. Asking $3,200 or trade for a similar year thumper with e-start for the wife, something like a Raptor, YFZ or Predator. Have a little cash to go with if the bike is right. It's a 2002 black and white with a clean title in hand. It has: Professionally gussetted and PC'ed frame Gorr midrange port Paul Turner Hi Revs Coolhead / 20cc domes Fresh set of pistons on 1st overbore, maybe 4 hours Single 35mm Keihen Airstryker carb (have stock carbs to use or sell, worth $250 that go with) Durablue +4 axle Stainless brake lines Full set of iRazr tires at 80% mounted on it Set of rear 20" Sand Skate II's more, but can't think of it all now... Bike is not extreme and trails easily, but still is extremely fast. The portwork is some of the best in the industry and the powerband is uncharacteristicly smooth and extremely strong. It can easily take similarly equipped Banshees with ease. If you want something you can trail ride aggressively on and go to the dunes or drags and work some people over, this one will do it. Still, the portwork is mild enough that if you wanted to go full drag with it, there's plenty of room in the porting to go bigger.
