  1. any way to take a pic? You take paypal?
  2. you mean it's not too much work???? bike's looking good in that sig bro.
  3. use it for your weed...
  4. You should bust 47 pretty easy, I'd guess mid to low 50's. Just remember you can't compare one person's dyno to another. While they'll be close, Dynojets typically see an 8 to 10 % difference in readings which be around a 4 to 6 hp difference; so say you have a 54 hp machine, you could hit 50 on one and 56 on another.
  5. you could take a dome, put a spark plug in it and then use a 30cc syringe, fill it to 30 on the money, then squeeze it into the dome. when it's full, count how much is still in the syringe and deduct it from 30. that's how big your domes are.
  6. cam, in case you didn't notice, I already agreed most of that point. it is hard to be the dollar / hp you get from a banshee. i wouldn't have a problem lining up with any banshee, not saying I'm going to win all the time, i know more than most what banshees are capable of, but I promise you'd be surprised by my lil 450.
  7. Banchetta is dead on. IMO, fatties are one of THE best pipes for the money. They pull and work great on a stock motor, rev out good and still provide goot torque. However, the more you do to the motor, the better they perform. They are one of those pipes that rewards you as you mod. I would not dump them for T5's, I personally don't like T5's and would rather have the Fatties over the T5's, but if money's not an issue, go with some PT Highs!!
  8. those are some true words. with the mids, you can most definitely pull a taller gear and spread the trans out some. I ran a 15/39 with my Mids and a 15/41 with my Fatties. I think the Toomeys would be more preferred on a mx track. I'd like at two things. First, the compression. Did I read that it had 100 lbs, even 105, put some new rings in that thing and be sure to check the bore size that it's still in spec. It will hurt performance but worse, as it wears, it moves more in the cylinder and can eventually break something if you let it go. No reason not to throw some new rings on it. If you want more power, mill the head while it's off and bump it up to 140 / 150 and call it good. Secondly, if your wanting more power than that, it's time to look at porting the cylinders which is also something that can be done while they're off for the new rings. Do those three things 1. Rings, 2. Mill head and 3. Port the cylinder and you'll have more power than you thought you could. keep the toomeys.
  9. come on man, where you been... or more like where have I been.... :shoothead: Yep, been running the 450r for a while now. Banshee's been gone for a good little bit as well... :: I surely wouldn't trade the 450r for my banshee, but I do miss having a banshee in the stables. I'll get another one very very soon! I see your running PT Highs now. I got the chance to run them for a little bit before I got rid of the banshee and I ran then back to back with the PT Mids I raced with for 4 or 5 months and I have to say the Highs were the best pipes (seat of the pants) that I ever had on the bike, for my ride style. Still had good low and a strong mid but revved out great and super smooth. I really like them and will get another set when the next banshee crosses my path.
  10. jmd, tell him to get a cam and a full pipe, then it'll be different. dstrokes, thanks a lot man, there's a lot of time and effort put into my bike, but it's fun!!
  11. I wouldn't run 34's regardless of mods.... largest I would go for my personal bikes is 30mm but for stock and stock / ported, a set of 28mm's or stockers bored to 28mm work ideally, unless you want to go to a 2 - 1 carb setup.
  12. it's ignorant to think the bike has NOTHING to do with it. Think 45% Rider / 45% Bike / 10% Luck. The secret is in making the best of the rider and the bike, then with consistency, luck will pay off. These guys have mastered it. Yes, they can win on YFZ's, LTR's and TRX's but that's mostly because the quads that are out today are far superior to what they used to be, better geometry, more travel, more controlled power, so they can really master the consistency and reliablity.
  13. MBRP has one of the best fits. Straight piping the stocker is not really what you want unless you want people to think your part of the Dukes of Hazzard crowd... nice and loud with no real benefit on pipe sizing. The idea is to step up a little to help flow. Also, you don't generally want to just dump 4" out of the turbo; you want it stepped, so 3.5" out of the turbo, then into 4" a little farther down will yield the best flow. Removing the cat really helps out so keep that in mind. Don't worry much about it, just find a good kit that will take care of all that for you, like MBRP. Banks is decent but definitely OVERPRICED.
  14. thats cool and it's definitely a "to each their own" kind of deal. I raced my banshee for awhile and have been racing my 450r for awhile and it's night and day for me on the thumper. I can lug it and rev it a lot more and eliminate the constant shifting that's needed to keep it in the power. Not too mention, with good suspension, I have 12" of travel up front and 11" in back which helps with the bump soaking. If you like and prefer your banshee, then that's definitely what you should be on, in the end it's all about our own personal preferences and what makes it fun for us. Before I got my 450, I swore I'd never make the switch, but I finally gave in and now can't believe it took me so long. You are right tho about the pros using currently available models and all. I do think they'd still be on the 450's without a question tho, in fact, they're the ones that sort of help move it with the old hybrid 450's but still, they're going to run what the mfg's who pay the bill tell them to. They could probably beat me riding a blaster.
  15. Here's my Gorr ported cylinders, intake side only. You can "do" it yourself, but remember, there's A LOT more to it than just opening up, there's volumes and measurements and then there's A LOT more to it than intake only. If you do some cleaning up, just make it flow better and don't open it up much or you'll defeat the purpose. Good luck on it. Stock cylinders Eric Gorr cylinders
  16. Washburn, I understad what your saying totally. But, racing is more than just fun, it's trying to win and it's using everything available to help. The newer four strokes give faster times and do it more consistently, just what it is... nothing to do with the fun factor. I agree that 2 strokes in general are more fun, provide more "hit" but that hit can work against you, especially in the woods. Not to mention the advancements in suspension.
  17. not starting anything, just wondering why your "not a fan of Hondas"... simply curiousity. Everbody is surely entitled to their opinions for sure, just wondering if you've had a bad experience.
  18. Seems the majority of you missed this part. he's not that concerned with dragging so he'll have to approach it differently. 8" wheel - more flex, better launch, softer ride but less ability to slide and turn 10" wheel - less flexx, more stable, good ability to slide and carve the dunes I'd go to a 10" wheel or a 9" at the least for a good compromise. I'd also recommend the Skat Trak Edges. They're a V paddle but they hook up incredibly well for a V and will give you a killer overall ride on the dunes, excellent carving and sliding but still enough hookup to be plenty competent in the drags when need be. Get a 20" tire in a 8 paddle.
  19. I have always been a promoter of the single carb intake setup on a Banshee. Most that bag it have never tried it. True, it may not be the ideal drag setup but for duning / play-dragging, trails, xc and pretty much every other type of riding, it's a huge benefit.
  20. 8 paddle triple buff Haulers or my personal favorite, comp cut STU Padla Brats.... in an 8 paddle. Contact this place for any and all questions regarding paddles. Good prices and excellent knowledge and service. Fullerton Sand Sports 8322-A Standustrial Stanton, CA 90680 (714) 898-2049
