  1. First off, be careful, you don't want to be running it with it super hot all the time, if you know its overheating, take special care not to run it hot. The stock impeller is a plastic piece of dog crap. Get a new Pro Design impeller thats a lot stronger and flows better. Second, get rid of all the "collant" and get some "Engine Ice" coolant. The local dealer should have some or be able to get it. It will run cooler than the coolant. You have a Noss head, but with what domes. A lot of people buy the heads expecting to run cooler but throw super high compression domes and that offsets the temp. drop. You may get some inline coolers, I don't know if they help, but some like them. Check your radiator for proper flow, make sure its not stopped up. There are other things you can do, and you may check in to getting a gauge so you can tell what the temps are exactly. If all else fails, and everything is good, you may have to get a high capacity radiator. It shouldn't just run super hot, so chances are, with some investigating, you'll find it.
  2. If it was me, I'd go for the newer T-6 pipes. They are similar to the T-5s except they help a tad lower in the powerband. They're not mid pipes, but they pull a little earlier. If I must choose from the list, with your mods, the T-5s have my vote. I'll vote that. If it was strictly duning, I'd say Toomey all the way. I'm not a big Toomey fan cause I like midrange pipes, but if I was to stay in the sand, I'd have some Toomeys. Like Ducman said, start porting and the CPIs may be a better choice, I don't know.
  3. You can use whatever tail light you feel like using.
  4. alright, little sahara, OK. What date?
  5. The overflow comes off of the back/bottom of the fuel bowl. The other two that are up high, ones by the choke lever and the other is directly across, are the vents. The fuel feed is bigger and is the only one that is pointed upwards a little. Its on the same side as the choke just towards the back. Its really simple. Really all 3, other than the fuel feed, go towards the back of the bike, I don't really think you can mess them up, and if you have the fuel feed wrong, you'll just dump fuel onto the floor. Scott
  6. lets get back to the point at hand.... ex/banshee ride.
  7. Its fun listening to your girls squabble. Keep it coming.
  8. When I changed to the single carb, I also switched to the Uni. I see more dirt on the uni, but I think it catches more. A friend doesn't like to use the uni because he has to clean it more often, and i think there's a reason. The only time I use the K&N is when I'm in sand.
  9. can u say that again, i didn't hear you the first time.
  10. Just to stick my $.02 in here. I run almost the exact same setup on my bike. Fatties, open lid. Stock porting. Now, I run 310 mains in the summer. I am on 27.5 pilots. but, I like a little leaner pilot. I have heard of people running a 30. I would get a 27.5 pilot, and some 310 and 300 mains. Start with the 310's, or even 320's and see what it does. What is your elevation. Mine is 800'. You are lean. If you don't change, sever engine damage will result... With my fatties, open K&N, reeds I was at 310, 27.5 over the summer. Thats at 2,000'.
  11. I've done some business with magicracing.com and have always had really good luck with them. If you buy from them, you shouldn't have a problem. Scott
  12. There was one banshee I've seen in dirtwheels before that the guy painted the black & white camo himself. He had a jetski painted the same, and his helmet had that paint. I'm not sure if the one in this dirtwheels is the same, but it looked like it.
  13. Go out and ride and get them hot, and try to wipe that crud off while they're hot. That may work.
  14. I run 32:1 in the summer, and I've got a 36:1 in right now, but my next tank will be 40:1. We'll see how that goes. I may start running 36:1 in the summer also. Thanks for the input.
  15. Sweet, thats easy enough. Ooh, like the front number plate. Thanks for the info.
  16. I like the tag grips, in yamaha blue.
  17. Boonman, I'm a big fan of the Hella 500s. I'm going to be putting a pair my bansh, but haven't looked to hard on how to mount. Since you've been there, I didn't know if you had any great ideas on making the job easier. I was thinking of making a bar to fit across the two mounts with tabs welded for the lights, but was concerned with keeping them upright, not rotating back. What wattage are you running, 55w?
  18. and remember, the cooler the helmet looks, the faster you'll go.
  19. what he said. You can only pull so much air through a 26mm, so your air/fuel mixture will only be so great. Move up to a 35mm and your pulling that much more air, which allows you to pull that much more fuel. Make sense?
  20. Those mods will only emphasize the power your bike is making, not change it. If you like the way it runs, it will be the same just a little more of it. To answer your question, if you like the way it runs, you'll really like it after those mods. Hope this helps. Scott
  21. I did a search and here's what I found. Dyna Fs Ignition, worth the money or not? Dyna Ignition Vs. Ignition Plate Dyna Ignition, worth it? I was just searching this the other day, so I knew there were some there.
  22. damn nice sled, I'd like to take it for a spin, although there is no snow here.
