  1. Elka shocks TCS shocks Custom Axis shocks Works shocks Motowoz shocks you can use stock YFZ shocks and be way better off than the stock Banshee shocks. there are loads and loads of options out there........ it just about how much money you want to spend. Look on ebay.

    v-arm pics

Just wait until you see the S-arm I'm coming out with.
  3. try some 360s and see if it's better.
  4. what he said and what snop said could help also. you may get a different needle, not that aftermarket longer one... that could be hurting you some causing you to need bigger mains than usual. nonetheless, for now, try raising it by lowering the clip some and see if that helps. above all, you and we need to know what the plug color is from a WOT plug run and doing it in 5th gear is fine, especially with that gearing.
  5. glad I was able to help some. the vacuum or lack of, in that carb doesn't quite pull enough fuel through at idle, that's why its so hard to get it raised. i remember what we were doing now. the idle screw has a spring inside of it. you can pull the idle screw all the way out then take off the spring and like cut it in half or cut some of the coils off and it'll let you screw it in deeper. you can try that if you need more. the screw is plastic usually which is bs.
  6. when you say, "it's lean" that's pretty vague. are you saying after a plug run it's lean? or it feels lean in the throttle when riding? if you feel it in the throttle, what position of the throttle? if it's the plug color after a WOT plug run, then richen your mains.
  7. They're worth at least another 20 hp just being Trinitys alone.... Seriously, good find.
  8. sorry to see they didn't sell man. can't believe you can't find a buyer here...
  9. I'm not sure if I'm any smarter now, after reading this thread...... FWIW, I used some Purple Power cleaner tonight and it did good on some stuff and not so good on others. It burned my nose if i got too close and on grease, it worked well. And it is purple.
  10. nice fresh cylinders ready for some porting.....
  11. best way to clean the carb is to remove it from the bike, pull the bowl off and then the jets. spray some carb cleaner through all the ports, orifices and holes and all. inspect the holes to see if you can see anything in there, dirt, etc. and then blow it dry with an air hose if you have one. also spray the cleaner in the jets and blow them out.
  12. john, your ignorance hurts. if you have an inflated balloon and you squeeze two of the sides, where does the air go, out the other sides, it deconforms the balloon and sends the pressure to the sides because the air is contained in a flexible surround. same thing with the brakes, when you pull the lever, it pressurizes the line BUT, since the line is a thin rubber tube that is weak, it deconforms and swells the tube robbing pressure that would've otherwise made it to the calipers. with a stainless line, the line is stiff and strong, resistant to swelling so all the pressure goes straight to the caliper. if you don't understand that then nothing else I can say. i would suggest you just stick to your way of doing it. part of the reason the newer bikes/quads have better brakes are because the lines, even though they're rubber, are much stronger and thicker, so with a yfz450 or a trx, there's less noticeable difference but with the banshee, the lines are thin and cheap. edit: I don't think "deconform" is a real word....

  14. Lee's always a busy cat. I'd buy a Hoodie and some T's but don't slather it with crap. Nice and simple Yammi blue hoodie with the tuning forks on the front, maybe a small BHQ logo and then on the back in a large arch with a gothic type font, "Banshee HQ" with a slogan underneath like, "Where it all starts" or something.
  15. what if I ride a Honda??? Those tuning forks might look a little goofy on a Honda!!
  16. sounds like a clogged pilot. take them apart and inspect the pilot jets and see if you find something.
  17. That is a nice FUGGIN bike for the price people. I'd kill to just buy that and be done but the timing is not right.
  18. Yep. It takes a lot more than an HRC kit and oxy fuel to hit 60. If he had a full pipe and the HRC cam with oxy, he may have been 46 or 47, no more.
  19. whatsup man, yea it's been a bit I guess. T-Dub Racing is who made that swingarm. http://www.tdubracing.com/ Hows it working? I'm actually banshee-less at the moment.... kinda sucks tho but thats how it is for the moment.
  20. nothing like the look of a huge block of an air cooled cylinder sticking out of a banshee frame..... just think of the weight savings by removing the water pump and radiator.
  21. that's close, but if you want the truth, and you probably don't, here it is. i got the 450 and had that and the banshee and was loving it; nice xc machine and a fun drag/dune machine. then I took my wife, who had never ever been on a quad except a couple times with me, to the dunes with me. I rode the Banshee and she rode the Honda. Well, she fell in love with riding, and my Honda so much that it only took 4 weeks after we got back for her to coerce me into selling the Banshee and buying her a 450r with the money. Somehow, she convinced me it was a good idea, but looking back at how much she really gets away to ride, I could've easily kept the Banshee and let her just ride the Honda when we go out and ride. I could still have my favorite Banshee. But, I wanted to embrace her newfound love for riding to keep her involved and I accomplished that, so now begins the search for a new old banshee that I can tear apart and rebuild how I want. I'm thinking an RZ topend stockbore build for a fun strong dune bike.
  22. thanks, now can you tell me why I sold that thing........ i was a fan of that project to, but I would've liked to put a smaller gusset in that front area I pointed out. can't do a big one as it can interfere with some pipes but a small pipe gusset would look OEM and be strong.
  23. sredish

    carbs

fwiw, the single carb upgrade is one of the best upgrades you can do to your quad, next to pipes.
  24. that'll work. just jb weld or something similar to seal the hole. that'll work fine.
  25. The Trinitys would be a good pipe for that powervalved motor but the he Toomeys would be a good pipe also. I would avoid any "drag" pipe like CPI, Shearer, etc for a race bike. They'll wear you out with the narrow powerband. You might just try and find the best deal on either. One thing about the Trinitys is I believe they're stainless or maybe they used to be not sure, but that could be a factor.
