  1. Do it. Like he said, go for it.
  2. That compression is fine if your happy with running the super octane. If its a PITA for you, then back it off to 19 ot 20 cc. I'd keep it where its at if its running good. Like Ducman said, maybe you'd be happier with some FMF SSTs.
  3. gbf4ever, I'm sure you can get more of that girl's clothes off. I've always been fond of yamaha blue. not sure why, just like it, especially mixed with black.
  4. a pair of 30mm keihens.
  5. I use Engine Ice and think it works better. It comes prepackaged and ready to go. Most dealers should have it, if not, Rocky Mountan ATV, Magic Racing also has it I'm sure. Here's the site for it.
  6. nah, I think you'd be alright now.
  7. Oh yeah, 'cause you'll never have it all together again.

    My Top Speed?

    Exactly what I got. If you stepped up to a 15 tooth front sprocket: 10,000 - 93 11,000 - 102.4 The 14 tooth setup is a 3.00 gear ratio The 15 tooth setup is a 2.80 gear ratio I'm running a 2.73 ratio currently.
  9. There is another guy here who was having similar problems, fouling and smoking on only one side. His problem were the reeds. Are you sure the reeds are fine, you said they're new, but could they have been damaged, or not installed properly?
  10. Well, its got black, blue and some white. Simple, but I like it.
  11. bingo !!! i had the same problem, right side kept fouling out, turns out the reed was wasted. damn, why didn't I think of that.
  12. The SSTs are kind of an all-around pipe. They boost the low end some, the mids quite a bit and the top end some. The Gnarlies are supposed to boost the low end, but hardly any top end. If you go FMF and don't want to foot the bill on the SSTs, get some Fatties, those are good strong mid pipes that work through the top. The PTRs produce the most mid power out off all the twin pipe setups, and are probably the best choice.
  13. What were the compression numbers?
  14. Well, I may have spoke too soon. It depends on how extensive your porting is. Read your other post HERE where I said: In other words, I'd leave your carb alone and stay with the 35, and get the pipes. After that, if your not happy, then get the dual 34s. As for your current setup, there is no other single carb setup that would be much, if any, better than what you have. If you change carbs, you oughta be changing back to duals. Also, they normally frown upon multiple posts in different sections. So beware.
  15. I think you need a special sized K&N filter from Pro Design.
  16. With your porting, you'll probably want go back to twins, or your motor won't be getting enough air. The 34mm keihens seem to be the carb of choice for the porters, while your not stroked, it would still probably work for you. And if you want to go bigger with stroking or boring then you'd be set up. Generally the 2 into 1 carb kit is the best mid setup in regards to intake on a stock bike, but when you get into porting and stroking, it tends to not give enough air. With mild porting, you'd probably be alright. In my opinion, I would stick with the 35mm single for awhile, and invest in the pipes your wanting. Afterwards, if it isn't enough (there will be a huge increase in midrange) then you might step up to dual 34s, but wait first. I would by no means go down to a single 33. I'd also recommend not doing too much at one time, or you won't know what is doing what. If you do the carb and the pipes and the this and that, then you won't know what mod is favorable or not. If you get the pipes and like the power, but want more. Then get the carbs, and then its not favorable, then you know its the carbs. Make sense? Good luck.
  17. I will say that xr's are a kick in the ass. If I had to own one thumper, it'd be an xr.
  18. You have replaced the plugs with new ones correct? And your air filter is clean right?
  19. That 33mm is not going to do it. Check here.
  20. Your not going to get the power your looking with the pipes you have. The carb sort of emphasized whats already on your machine. Your Toomeys are going to keep you from getting the powerband you want. You have hi rev pipes and are wanting the low/mid power. You need to sell the Toomeys and get some PTR mids, or Fatties. Changing from a 35mm to a 33mm is probably going to hurt you seeing that you have some porting. You need all the air you can get. Your limited to your top end power by your pipes, thats it. And another thing, that carb setup isn't going to be the best choice for most port jobs. It will probably do, but a set of 34mm pwks would probably better fit the bill.
  21. yep, wheeley, we'll be the loners meeting up with everyone. Thats cool.
  22. I'd imagine you'd be somwhere around spoin's recommendations. 300, 310 with lid.
