  1. To each is his own with the gearing. The ONLY way to tell what your machine can do and how you like it set up is by trial and error. One person may like the gearing to be low for whatever reason and the next may like the gearing super high. Just try it out and see how you like it, if you don't like it go to something else. As cheap as sprockets are (for the cheap steel ones, all I use) it's an inexpensive trial and one of the biggest things you can change.
  2. How bout a Booooooaaaaaaawwwwww sound? Maybe a 2" port 3" long towards the back of the box. Get some pimpin bass that way.
  3. Hell yeah, I'm sending you a pm. Where do you live, in town? I'm right out at 56 & 82 on the highway.
  4. the wax dries to a film that is dry and not sticky and makes it harder for stuff to get in there, so the sand doesn't stick to it, where some lubes the sand will stick to it.
  5. that's great. I'm much happier now, I'm shoveling down some Mcdonald's and feel much better, or maybe it's brcause my axle just got here.
  6. Oh, man. Let's just call this shitty computer week! My computer crashed about a week ago. Last night was the very first time I was able to use it. I had to have my hard drive reformatted and my os put back on. I have been installing and updating for the last 16 hours. My eyes hurt and I have a huge freaking headache. To make it worse, I had two big meetings, one on Friday and one yesterday. For both meetings I needed several files off of my computer. Well, didn't have those, had to spend all weekend working on my wife's to redo the files and I had to redraw two huge blueprints. I'm going freaking nuts. I am just now getting this thing back to normal, only bad thing is only half of my documents were saved, mostly the bad shit I don't care about. Boonman, sorry to hear about your predicament, hope it everything gets back to normal.
  7. I don't think that's too bad of a deal. Some will say that you should be able to find one cheaper, but for a 2000 in good condition, I'd probably pay 3,000 for it. Read the "What kind of Maintenance / Up Keep Is Done" thread for some info on that.
  8. Throw some 30s on it and you'll be tickled shitless. I wouldn't run 36's unless I had a +4 stroker ported insanely and used strictly for drag.
  9. TopBulb.com has all the bulbs you need and can you can order the wattage that you want. If you want to order them in 35w, check them out.
  10. I believe you have to use SST silencers with SST pipes unless you are going to modify the mounts and hangers. Using other silencers, they'll end up short.
  11. Don't forget about any graphics kits, those are good for at least another gear.
  12. I asked about this kit in the "Repairs and Mods" a week or so ago and didn't get much response. The only response I received was based on the cylinder walls being thinner and the possibility of it getting hotter, but no one responded with any actual facts. The majority of your components will be fine. Your clutches can handle more than that, same with the crank and trannie. There are people who throw a hell of a lot more power in them than that with no problems.
  13. any type of midrange pipe will work best with that setup. FMF Fatties are a great and not too expensive set of pipes, Paul Turner mids from Duncan are the most powerful and somewhat more expensive. If your looking into the ultimate low/mid range motor, the DMC 2 into 1 pipe will work good, just be prepared to lose more top end.
  14. I am a longtime Maxima chain wax fan. I like that stuff a lot, it dries to a nice dry plastic-like coating. I have just bought my first Honda Pro chain lube and have not used it yet. But I have heard such rave reviews, I feel stupid not to at least try it once.
  15. I'm a Castor 927 man all the way. It's a little finicky in the winter but overall it's a great oil, and smells as sweet as honey.
  16. Well settle all you want, cause we'd be here forever. Which is better, Powerstroke, Cummins, or Duramax? They all make power, and they all serve differently. Same with the below exhausts. IMO, Paul Turner Mids aka Duncan. Oh, and the Powerstroke is better.
  17. I'm using 11 ga. square tubing for the entire frame and everything, much cheaper than 3/16". I'm riveting the aluminum onto the steel tubing, then mounting the truckbox on the front of the trailer.
  18. just a single. I make my own using 2 3/8" .190 pipe and a hub setup from a local supplier, it's good for 6,000 lbs. did you say you were gonna build one for only 300 bucks?? i dont see how this can be done. 3 years ago when i built my 6 x 10 i spent about 900. maybe i didnt understand how you were going about building it. I spent about $125 on the square tubing. I'll have another $50 or $60 in aluminum. The hubs are around $50. The hitch and tires will be about $75. I have the pipe left over from some fencing and I have the truckbox I took out of my work truck. I didn't allow for the paint or wire for the mig in that though. That will probably be "rerouted" through the ranch, that is if Martha Stewarts DA isn't watching me.
  19. and you'd be wearing yourself out with the shifting.
