  1. maybe a loose connection. I'd check the wires from the headlights all the way through to the voltage regulator. If that's not it, check the voltage on the headlight side of the regulator with the rpms up. Also could be something going on with the lighting coil.
  2. I probably wouldn't recommend it either. In theory, it should work, but the off balance probably won't be very good for a lot of the components, bearings, bushings, etc. It's your call, let us know how it goes if you do it.
  3. First off, you didn't tell us how big the carb is, or your airfilter, lid on or off. If it's rich at 200, then go one size down and then another until it's perfect. If it's really rich then go ahead and go to 180 and try it. Only one way to find out, and we can't tell you. No experience with the tuners.
  4. Yep, pretty much. Going to aftmkt pipes will allow you to rev much higher.
  5. I run 20s in the rear and usually 21s in the front, but now that I've thought about it, I'm anxious to try out the 22s. Like you said loco, I'l probably won't be able to tell the difference anyway. Later.
  6. I think he wants the actual numbers of the stock needle. I don't know off hand and my manual is in the shop. I'll get it later if no one else chimes in first.
  7. I agree with this statement for some dual carb setups and stock carbs especially. It's been known to happen for some dual carbed shees to be leaner on one side than the other, for the above reasons. That's one of the many reasons I like single carbs, so both cylinders get fair and equal treatment.
  8. Is the axle moving in the carrier, or is the whole axle/swingarm unit moving? The bearings in the carrier are easy to get out and even easier to get back in. I use a rubber mallet type hammer to gently coerce them in. They go right in, no prob.
  9. They may not all fire at 180 degrees though. Surely most inline engine tachs should work. It would be nice to have.
  10. I just ordered 22" Front Pros, I meant to order the 21s. Now that I think about it, I might like the bigger tire in the ruts and holes. What are you guys running on the front, I hardly hear anything about the front tires. Later.
  11. Hey all, I have the stock axle from my shee up for grabs. It's in great condition, not abused, raced, or pounded on. I'll get some pics and get them on here. $75 obo Scott
  12. They are slick as shit. Very sweet, especially for you poor f*ers with dual carbs . I can rejet really quick, but those duals are a pita. A simple turn of a dial and your ready. You can adjust the equivalent of 10 main sizes up and 10 main sizes down. And it works really well.
  13. I'm such a dumbass. I forgot about the parking assembly. I just backed out the screw on the parking brake side and it let the piston go on in. I just ordered a damn blockoff plate a minute ago. Thanks for the input Motul. Scott
  14. I just finished the install on my axle, and everything is good. It spins pretty free and I tapped in a zerk fitting, although, the grease won't really go in there. Is the seal so tight that it won't allow grease to pump in? I was thinking of sliding the axle out just a little to open the seal. Stupid? And yes, I did remove the little seals on the bearings. Anyway, main question. I replaced the rear pads with EBCs R pads. The piston won't open anymore. It's on the rotor, and I can spin the axle some, but it's pretty tight. I haven't replaced the pads before, so I was wondering if the pads will "conform" after a short ride or something. I'm gonna change the fluid today. The pedal is a touch soft for my blood, think I'm gonna be ordering a set of stainless lines from Galfer. Thanks, LATER PS - Like the new smilies.
  15. Plain and simple, Laegers kick ASS! However, you pay for that ass kickin too.
  16. I run my needle in the 4th position, but that is probably due to the single carb setup.
  17. Don't see anything to add here. Carbs, reeds, compression, timing. Sounds good to me.
  18. I have the stock thumb throttle cable that I'll trade you for the twist. What kind of twist is it?
  19. says who. The only reason the dealerships push them is because they're a guaranteed money maker. In the service shop that is, and that ain't no shit. A friend of mine is the svc. manager at a Honda / Polaris shop and he says the owner pushes the hell out of the Polaris just for that reason, they'll be back in no time.
  20. Very very nice. Can be a little brisk though, but I doubt it. Here's the official website for Little Sahara, OK. Little Sahara, OK
