  1. It definitely sounds like a pilot problem. If it's backfiring when you back it down some, it's probably getting closer, but since it's still rich, it's loading up and backfiring. Honestly, I'm not as familiar with the PJs. I'd back your pilot on down until you can get it to idle, and don't give up after a few changes. Holler back and let us know.
  2. I also agree. I don't think the plugs alone would cause that. Try a new set and check them at wide open throttle, even if it dies, hold the throttle open and kill it, then check them. I also feel the main could use some tending to. What year did TORS start up? If it's in there, it needs to come out of there. "Grip it and rip it."
  3. I'll be there along with everyone else in the "Little Sahara" post down in the Sand forum.
  4. the people at bluetraxx are just not normal. that's really the only way to put it. there is just something wrong with every single one of them. it's funny how we all feel the same way, though we don't discuss it, so it must be true.
  5. I felt the same way. Only problem is, I see a few with over 2,000 posts and they're still a pro, so we don't have much of a goal anymore. They should make 2,000 and up an Expert or, this is good, "BHQ Brother". Congrats.

    Airbox Lid

The back 2 inches of my lid is cut off. I want an untouched airbox lid to use while washing. Scott
  7. It should be a 33 or 35 PWK, if it came straight from Trinity. 72 Pilot Put a 50 or even 45 in and lower the needle to the third position. The 4th is great with pipes, but with stock pipes, the 3rd would be better. The 50 might not be perfect, but starting and idling should be better. Your going to have to jet your main, or make sure your plugs are coloring perfect, then fine tune the pilot to start and idle good, and it's dependant on your elevation.. With pipes and reeds and all, I'm running a 55 pilot and 220 main at 700 feet. I'd say 150 is maybe close, you might need to come up a little, but you might need to go down some also, you'll just have to do some tinkering. No prob. Patience and this prob will be overcome.
  8. You'll have to go up some. You are now getting more air into the motor, so without more fuel, you'll be lean. You have to add more fuel into the motor to match the extra air. Make sense? Let us know where you end up.
  9. The thing is, it's not too hard to get the tires off and can be done rather quickly with a couple flatbars. I don't like to do them because I end up scratching rims. Now that I run some Black Labels, I'd rather have a shop do it and keep from scuffing my rims. Also, my good bud works at the dealer, so I do it myself down there, just walk in, use the machine and I'm gone, no questions asked. It always helps to have a friend at the dealers shop.
  10. Just wait till you get a set of pipes on 'er. Talk about power.
  11. Sorry, didn't mean to sound so insulting. I had just replied to several questions that all were easy lookups in the manual, not that I don't want to help, but there's no way for me to explain them as good as the manual can, especially with wire routing. Scott
  12. Just tap them out. Nice and easy.
  13. Don't know where exactly, probably Durablue. When you get them, make sure to get 4 or 5, because that shit happens a lot with spacers.
  14. Oooh damn. I'd sure hate to clean that mess up. I'm thinking the shifter seal myself, but like he said, could be behind the sprocket also.
  15. Don't we all do stupid shit? Drain everything and and get the new fuel in it. Depending on what ratio you normally use, you might consider using a little more oil now. The existing 1/4 tank might have really helped you out and kept it from locking altogether, but I don't really know. All I can say is put the fresh fuel in, maybe run a tad richer premix and see what happens. Good luck.
  16. Another fool without a service manual.
  17. Well well well. It's very obvious to us now that you do not have a banshee service manual. I feel like not even anwering this question just because you don't have one. I'll tell you but only if you swear to get one first thing Monday.
  18. As cheap as they are, I wouldn't touch a stock one. If your going in there, you might as well replace the very thing that keeps your shee alive and running at it's optimum and get you a PD Impeller on ebay for $59 or whatever he said it was.
  19. That ain't no joke. 5 days for me, but I'm anxious as hell. This past week, I've been working like crazy to get the bansh all broke in for the new year. I got the new axle on and all new brake pads & fluid, coolant, oil, new fuel filter, new air filter, the old is now the spare. I have two stripped rear lug nuts, so that will be tomorrow's job. Have we decided where everybody is going to camp, north or south? This is the scoop I have so far: LedoftheZep: (if I remember correctly) Johnnyrebel: Wheeleymaster: sredish: Who else are we missing? I talked to someone from Texarkana who was going, and I mentioned we could meet up and either ride together or caravan and he said that will be cool, but I can't find the posts.
  20. Wasn't that your raptor I saw with the gold spokes and the pimps hanging around it?? Very trick.
  21. I f'ed up my fuel line installing a new inline filter. It needed to be changed anyway and I have some coming from Rockymountain this week. However, I would like to ride this afternoon. I bought some regular rubber line from Auto Zone, but the dufus told me that premix would eat through the rubber, therefore I needed a special synthetic designed for a premix fuel. I hadn't heard that before, but my current hose is not a regular rubber, so I thought I'd check in with you all. I imagine I'll run it anyway, if it goes bad or starts leaking or whatever the f*^&, then I'll just take it off and steal some one else's whose dumb enough to leave their machine unattended. That usually works. Scott
  22. How many cranks did you go through?
  23. What kind of bars do you run? Maybe time to get an AntiVibe stem and some fat bars.
  24. Ingersol Rand are definitely very nice. The nice thing about the higher quality air tools is they use less air to do an equal job. You can't go wrong. One thing, if you are on a budget, they Campbell Hausfield from Tractor Supply really aren't that bad. They might not be IRs, but they will definitely get the job done, and much easier than old fashioned sweat. You can probably get a couple tools there for the price of one IR gun. I use a CH 3/8 impact and I like it very much. Only thing, like I said before, they're not as efficient as some high quality guns so they might use a little more air than the IRs.
