  1. Glad you had fun and broke in the 21st right.
  2. Sweet. Glad you got it figured out. It's funny how something so simple can freak you out. Happens to all of us.
  3. Need I say more? Click. Or maybe one of these...
  4. Where are the damn pictures, can you imagine?
  5. What show is this? What channel? Don't think I've seen it.
  6. I like my DGs quite a bit.
  7. Do not lose that wife!! What a great chick. Sounds like you got a pretty nice bike also. Welcome. I think Motul has gotten you answered pretty good, so I'll leave it at that.
  8. Hell yeah they work. Only reason I don't have one is I run a single carb and jetting is easy. If you have duals, a Dial-a-Jet is the only way to go. You have the adjustment of 10 main sizes down and 10 main sizes up, so 20 sizes altogether. Going from winter to summer, going from one track to another; with anything like that, the Dial-a-Jet will allow you to fine tune your bike to the area's conditions with the simple turn of a dial. A buddy of mine has them on his +4 stroker with all kinds of shit. Puts out around 90 horses. He has dual 36 Mikunis (now he wishes he had more low end, go figure)and he runs the dial a jet and he can dial that sucker in a matter of minutes and easier than I can with my single. If I ran duals, I wouldn't be without them. Good buy if you decide to get them. If you do, holler back and tell us how you like them.
  9. how would the jetting be affected between stock carbs and bored stock carbs on a motor such as mine? Well, you'll be sucking more air so you'll have to have more fuel going in, how much depends on your "volumetric efficiency". (I just wanted to get that in there ) If you have stock carbs and you get them bored, you'll have to rejet and will be jetting it richer than it was to match the extra air. Sorry, I didn't read your question right.
  10. How do your plugs look with the 410 in it? If your coolant is no longer, then replace it with some Engine Ice coolant, it will run 40 or 50 degrees cooler than properly mixed auto coolant.
  11. Yep, your running hot. Check the jetting and other areas to diagnose why your shee is overheating.
  12. I also run a 35. I wouldn't go any bigger than that unless you have some good porting and/or a stroker kit. 35 is plenty for a more-or-less stock motor, the overbore won't make much difference. In fact, depending on what your looking for in the performance, the 33mm is said to have better response than the 35 with a stock motor. I have plans on some porting and maybe a 409 sleeve kit, so I opted for the 35mm. Also, when I get the kit together and installed, I will be trying a 38mm to see how I like it. The bigger the carb gets, it will move your powerband a little farther upward in the rpms. For instance, with the 33mm, the power will come on a little sooner than the 35mm, and I would the same for the 35 and the 38. Good luck with your decision and let us know how you end up. Scott
  13. I would recommend powdercoating only. With one exception, if your bike is strictly show or maybe drag where shee's not going to be beat on too much like mx, xc and so on, then you might get by with standard high quality paint.
  14. stop f*^king laughing at me, dammit. that's not really me.
  15. I would be careful about recommending that low of a main....You'll feel sorry if he blows his motor up because of lean jetting......I rode in California and had to bump up my jetting 5 sizes on the mains...Both areas are at sea level... thought that at first but that is the setting when you get a stock shee from the yamaha dealer withou any mods the dealers are required to "prep" them upon delivery, which usually includes a jetting adjustment based on the area. Just imagine, a banshee sold in FL with a 260 main and then a banshee sold in N. Colorado, elevation 6,900 (my hometown) with a 260 main. These two would most certainly not run the same. Yes, Yamaha does use that as their "stock" configuration, but the actual stock main jet will vary depending on where it was bought.
  16. I would definitely check the cable, could be kinked somewhere or pulled from the top as Banchetta mentioned. Just the other day, I was tinkering with the needle and put it all back together. I kicked her over and BWAAAAAAAHHHHHHH. WTF. First I panicked and pulled the needle back out and put her where she was to begin with and started it. BWAAAAAAAHHHHHHH. Ok, then I stopped and thought about it a little. I followed the cable and sure enough, it had been pulled just alittle, but plenty to make her Wide Freaking Open, and it' enough to startle you. Good luck.
  17. What domes you run are dependant upon what compression you want to run. You don't just throw in a set and hope it works. You need to know what the outcome you want is. Do you want to run a 50/50 mix or straight, or avoid having to use race fuel altogether. You want to stay at 155 or under to be ok with 92 octane. Here is a Coolhead Dome Chart that will tell you the compression with a given dome based on your elevation. These numbers will vary depending on the amount of wear your machine has on it. Check here and see what your compression would be. Adeezy, if you were at 4,000 or 5,000 feet, a 15cc dome would probably be alright for 50/50 mixture, so I was ahead of myself with the above comments. Check it out and get back if you have more questions. Scott
  18. I've been here awhile, not as long as some and a lot longer than others. This has been the one place that has helped me along the way in learning about my machine, the sport, and the people that enjoy the sport. I have to come in at least two or three times a day "just to check in". I would be very dissapointed to find the site no longer here one day. I'm sure there is enough people around to find someone that would be willing to take over. None of that is my business, nor is it my business to know why you can't in the first place. It has been a lot of fun and I hope to be able to continue to learn here and help here. If there is anything I/we can do, please do not hesitate to let us know. Thanks Lee for your dedication to making this a great place to be and I hope everything works out in your favor. Scott
  19. My old lady could give 2 shits about riding any fourwheeler. The first one she had ever been around was the lt250 I had when she met me. I had them then and I have them now and it ain't gonna change. She still doesn't have any interest. Thats ok as long as she doesn't give me shit when I wanna go ride, I give her the, "i'm not making you stay at home" shit. She will ride around with me some but shows no real interest. Now I have a 21 month old and he tries to kick start his little 6v plastic four wheeler and makes the two-stroke noise and he freaks when he sees my banshee wanting me to give him a ride. So that's a done deal, she'll either have to get involved or continue to be left at home. Her choice. When little Cole is big enough to have his own machine, I'll get her something equivalent to the 400ex (who knows what'll be out then) and I'll make her ass ride. I'll be like, "Sit down bitch, push that f&*king throttle in." Yeah, I'm a tough guy!!
  20. Dammit. I got invited to go, but couldn't. Now I wish I'd have cut out in time to make it. Sounds like it was a fun weekend.
  21. Just now saw this. Thanks for the link.
