  1. Try the radiator cap thing first. If you take the cap off and start it, and it's flowing by really well then you probably won't have to take the big cover off. If you drain the coolant, fill it back up with straight Engine Ice. It will run about 45 or 50 degrees cooler with that stuff. Sometimes you can get it at the dealer on short notice, otherwise order it from RockyMountainATV.com or something like that.
  2. I really like the look of a factory sponsor bike. Only thing is I have a problem putting a sticker on my bike when I'm not using that company's product. I don't have any Roll Design products, though I'd like to, therefore, I'd feel like an ass having their sticker on my bike. I have a big ass pile of stickers in a special drawer in my box, and I'll probably never use them. When I get lots of shit, then I'll put all of them on at once, from the mfgs that I'm using. FoxBanshee has a very sweet Yamaha Blue banshee with all the sponsor stickers, looks sweet as hell.
  3. Yeah, that's his quad. They live in LA and that quad is on a farm in England they own and travel to. I saw and episode where his fatboy son was cruising around on it. Didn't take it outta 3rd by the looks of it.
  4. The radiator should be a little more than warm. It should be hotter than hell, well around 150 degrees unless it's overheating or not circulating. Even if it's not circulating it won't be cold, because there is coolant in the engine that will be really hot and it will warm the rest of the coolant up, maybe not hot, but warm enough to know it's warm. Easy way to tell is take the cover off the radiator and start the motor and see if you can see it circulating. It should look like it's flowing by the opening. If you have ANY doubts, drain the coolant, pull the cover and look at the impeller. An aluminum impeller is $30, is that little bit of money and the time to check worth damaging your motor? I hope not. Scott
  5. Yep, any one of them. The stockers don't have idle screws on the carbs becuase they're incorporated with the TORS crap. If you upgrade carbs they'll be normal.
  6. Boy, someone is pretty attentive. Hope you do have a good birthday. Today's my 6th anniversary, and where am I at, on this board. Well, fixin to be working on the Jeep some too. Happy Birthday, Scott
  7. Yep, unplug 'er. I've been wanting to switch back to twist also, just haven't had the motivation. Later.
  8. Oh yeah, I heard the Duncan sticker kits are like that.
  9. The overall jist of how to read plugs is the same. If I'm missing something, please fill me in.
  10. actually, my leaf springs have the "made in mexico" bs, but that's all I could find on with that. The build dates are going to run different unless you get one built in the last few months. The '03 6.0s had some serious problems to begin with. International sold them the rights to use the motor BUT NOT the electronics that operated it, so Ford had to design and make their own. Well they initially F'ed that up and that's why there were so many problems. Then they got it straightened out. Towards the end of the '03 model year they had the computer on track and it was running great (my truck for example is a late '03 and it hauls). The programming for the computer was updated damn near every month, and if you had a November truck and went in for service say in December, your truck would receive the updated December flash. I don't know off hand wha the most current flash is, but they got better around December and some said the January flash didn't seem to run as hard as the December. Mine hauls ass and I am very relunctant to let the flash my shit. In '04 they started using new injectors, so the '04 trucks have a somewhat different injection system than whats on my truck. So they have made changes and they are running really good right now. I will say that they do have a 6.4 Powerstroke in the works for a future SuperDuty. I don't know when it will come but I say in 2 years, maybe 3. But, Evil, that's why one will run different than the other. My truck with a mere 110 hp module will flat haul ass. My last truck was an '01 7.3 PStroke F350 dually with a 4" lift / 35"s, 120 hp chip, air intake, 4" straight exhaust, 1.0 exhaust housing, and lots of other shit. I could boost 34 lbs and that f*^ker would scream, and sounded like a 500 Cat. I had it dynoed at 410 rwhp / 770 torque. It was a pulling monster and was bad ass. I traded it in on this truck and honestly feel this truck is more powerful. It probably won't dyno as much as that one, although with an exhaust system, I bet it'd be close, and I feel it gets power to the ground a whole lot better and the new tranny is unbelievable. What I'm saying is I had thousands of dollars into that 7.3 and I've spent just 6 bills on this one and this one feels much stronger and with a little more massaging would be twice the motor. Plus, I get 17mpg average, on the hwy I can get 20. My 7.3 was a 15mpg average and 17mpg on a good day. I can hit the quarter in just under 14 seconds, give or take depending on the launch. Evil, I'm a small time dealer, but I can get some good prices on such and since it's not my real business I can usually pass that one to others. Let me know if I can hook you up, I love putting smiles on peoples faces. Damn, sorry for the long post.
  11. Whoooo, a little too scary for me, keep a good eye on them and get some new ones pronto.
  12. If there isn't anything to grab to pull/twist it out, maybe you can drill it out. Then JB Weld the hole and retap or, better option, take to a machine shop and tap a size bigger for bigger idle screw like they said.
  13. I have a ranch and own a general contracting construction company. I tow something probably 3 to 5 days a week. Could be my 14k lbs. backhoe, my 40' flatbed with my pipe material on it (weighed at up to 26k lbs fully loaded) and anything else you could imagine. If you are going to tow, I highlly recommend getting a set of Air Ride airbags for the rear suspension, they will make towing a lot more comfortable and less bouncy, and you can totally adjust for different loads, all for only 4 bills. Also, I own a side business in hopping up diesel motors; exhaust, computer mods, turbos, intakes, and anything else you can think of. It's not a big company, but I try to stay pretty informed regarding diesel motors and trucks. I don't think there would be a bad choice given either PStroke or Cummins. I, myself, am a Ford guy. Partly for the motor and partly for the truck. I think the Powerstroke is a very good motor and very reliable, but the same could be said for the Cummins, as they are a very well proven motor in light trucks and semi trucks. Sure, being a Ford man, I could tell you, Powerstroke, don't get a Cummins and so on, but it's not true. I, personally, will never drive anything other than a Powerstroke, because that is what I like. I have driven Fords since I was 16. We have 4 Fords on this ranch. My last truck had 80k miles and was never once in the shop, my new truck has 16k and has never been in the shop. Nor has the other three vehicles EVER been in the shop for anything. I've know plenty that have, but I have been very fortunate. The 6.0 PStroke problem is long gone, it was a short 4 month issue that has been cleared up so don't worry about that. If I were you, I'd drive both vehicles and see what you feel is more comfortable and what appeals to you more overall and then compare the prices and make your decision based on price on features of the actual truck. If your weighing it on motor only, it'd be a 50/50 toss up. Good luck.
  14. Your thinking of trans fluid and power steering fluid like joe said. Brake fluid is a little different.
  15. That's what I'm saying!! So, whats u going to bid Scott? You don't even want to know!
  16. Get you a helmet, chest protector, boots and good gloves. Take it slow, and hold on. You'll love it and have fun.
  17. The Banshee Is Almost Done (and a 2-1 trinity) Trinity, 33mm CV Manifold Kit Trinity Cv Single Carb System, does it work? Trinity Single Carb Kit.pros And Cons. Best Carb Size For Mx Trinity Cv Kit, Weighing What You Guys Have Said Single Carb Cv Single Vs Stock Carbs - Dyno That's enough to get you started. Has this question been asked, oh hell yeah. Scott
  18. Yeah, well the DAJ anyway, still uses a main jet and it has a tube that attaches to the float bowl and then you drill and tap a small hole on the intake side of the throat. If I remember correctly, you set the DAJ on the neutral setting and then jet the carb based on that. Once set, you can adjust up or down the equiv to 10 main sizes. Dial-a-Jet
  19. I'd say the needle needs to be in the third clip from the top/blunt end, and maybe fourth. That will bring in your midrange a lot better. One size on the needle is equal to one half main size, so if you move two clips richer then it's also like going up one size on the main and you might have to make and adjustment, but the adjustment is well worth it, and the needle is a very important part to dial in for best performance.
  20. Go up on the needle to the fourth position. Then see how it runs. Second clip is lean, especially with cleaned up ports, and no lid. One clip is equal to half a main size. So by going richer two sizes, it's equal to one main size and you might need to back it off to 330 but your midrange should come on better and should hold better.
  21. 300s or 310s might work good. I'd say def. put the needle in the 4th clip and that will probably help some. One clip position is equal to about a 1/2 main size, so by going one clip leaner you can run a tad bigger main, so if you figure 300 with 5th clip, 310 with the 4th might be just right. Also, reading plugs is easy. You don't really have to chop it every time, I only chop mine if I think there's something funky going on or I'm having trouble making out the colors or something. Look for the strap to be black (not wet or oily) and the ceramic tip to be chocolate colored. Here's a good article on reading plugs. It's important to know how, becuase you can't properly tune your carb without reading plugs. Reading Spark Plugs.
  22. The TORS is completely eliminated correct? If so, what about the parking brake cables. Both Blue and I witnessed a fellow banshee rider at the dunes have a deep gurgly sound on his shee and it wouldn't run at all, Blue disconnected the parking brake cables on the lever and down by the radiator and wallah, it ran normal.
  23. spray painting your rims, though the additional weight of the paint might cause you to lose 4 or 5 hp. Seriously, I got my Fatty pipes off of ebay pretty damn cheap and they have been great, and I've had them over a year with no probs.
  24. ok, i'll leave now. Seriously, the stupid posts are, well stupid.
