and still, a long ways to go.

Think that would be about the same with the 35mm? I started with 175 main and have went up 2 sizes everytime. I've gotten all the way up to 190 and it flattens out on top. No backfiring, just doesn't pull any harder at full throttle. I threw the 175 back in it yesterday and I think it was actually better, so looks like I've been going the wrong way. I'm not sure at all which way to go with the pilot. It has a 48 in it now. It won't start cold without choke and it hesitates a little right off idle. I'm thinking it's too rich and I need to go down a couple sizes, but you would think it would crank without choke if it's rich. you guys are checking your plugs along with the main changes correct?? if it's a tad on the lean side, it can trick you and it'll feel like it's running even better, so be sure to read the plugs. Krmit, you could've gotten to 190 and when it flattened out, it may have just wanted a little more fuel for that extra uumph. i've know several runing a 200 or 205. I myself am running a 220. Just check the plug to be sure.

yeah, it's pretty hard for a 4-wheeler to beat up on a 2-wheeler. they just get the power to the ground a lot better. Get you some CPIs and a coolhead. That's not gonna do it, and you'll need some pretty hefty mods to show him his ass (i.e. stroker, porting, fat carbs, etc.), but that will help a lot. Also, learning how to shift her just right will help you get the power to the ground best. Maybe gear it up a tad to keep it from spinning so bad. what kind of carb are you running for a 175 main, sounds like a single 33mm Keihen, yes or no??

People Magazine Slandering Atv Use. Must Read
sredish replied to sredish's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Boonman, that f'ing awesome. Thanks for the links. I was about to begin searching for that, I didn't have the time earlier. You know, I don't really expect much more out of a shitty magazine, but what really gets me is the ignorance time and time again. The fact that these parents are so quick to blame anyone/anything but themselves, when they, in fact, put their kids in danger by letting their young son get on a big machine that explicitly states must be over the age of 16 to ride. Are they so f&^king blind that they don't see that. On top of it, you know they let him ride with no helmet and then hooked it up to a trailer and let him yank that around. If I turned my back on my 2 year old and he fell in the lake and drowned, I'd go to jail for negligence, and would deserve it, but in this case, it's the goddamned atv's fault. WTF. Thanks for all your guys feedback and the fact that I know you feel the same way I do. -
My wife buys People magazine from time to time. I picked it up last night and was just thumbing through to find an article on atv use in the US. Basically, the article starts out with parents that lost their 10 year old in an atv accident on their farm when he was riding their "500lb." utility quad with their permission. It says nothing as to whether he was wearing a helmet, or not. The article states how dangerous and unregulated the sport is and how atv sales have doubled and the injuries have doubled. They mention how "children are injured and maimed by these deceptively risky, and almost totally unregulated vehicles". The more I read, the more flabergasted I was. Oh, and of course, there is a throw regarding how "last year, rocker Ozzy Osbourne was seriously injured when he crashed his atv", but no mention of helmet use. These kinds of articles are totally ignorant and only for the use of media sales. I doubt there was much research done. If you all don't feel the same way I do, then please tell me. My wife read the article and was equally dumbfounded, and she is not even close to an avid ATV'er, hell I can't even get her to ride my shee. I am not requesting, I am DEMANDING, that you all use the link below and read the article I've spent hours scanning, loading to pdf, and putting up on my website. When your through, and get over the false statements and accusations, I have also included a link to People magazine's editor for you to email your "respectful" comments. The file is approx. 4.75 MBs, so if your dialup, please be patient, and please take the time. Scott ATV article / People magazine editor@people.com

Choke 1/2 Out Great.choke In Bad!
sredish replied to BansheeBrian's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Okeedokee. Never mind what I said. You may need a slight adjustment on the pilots, but yeah, I wouldn't worry too bad, the smoking is normal, mine sure likes too when warming up. -
Just searched for backflip. First Backflip On Quad Ever!yfz!
-
agreed, it's new and untainted so far. could be another shee stop. we'll have to wait and see.

Choke 1/2 Out Great.choke In Bad!
sredish replied to BansheeBrian's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Is this when your running it hard, or only at idle, or where exactly? You might need to go up a couple on the main, like a 310 or maybe 320. What you really need to do is a plug check. Get her in the open and run her WideOpenThrottle in the highest gear you can, 6th preferred, but if it cuts out that's fine, just hold her wide open throttle and kill it in the highest gear you can get into for now. Check the plugs and see what they look like. If they are light colored then your too lean and need to go up, if they're wet and oily, then they're rich and you need to go smaller on the main. Once you get the main set, then get to the pilot jet. Dial it in for good throttle response, chances are your going to be at 27.5, so I think that might be ok. What clip is the needle in, 3rd? You probably ought to change it to the 4th clip from the top/blunt end. If you ever have any doubt as to the jetting, run a plug check, it will tell you what it needs. Check the plug and get back to us as to how it looks. Scott -
yeah, i'd cut that back to a 27.5 and see how that works, then put your needle in the 4th clip from the top/blunt end and see how you like it.
-
well, you must not be riding hard enough. Seriously, sorry to hear about your crash.
-
dude, totally depends on your riding style, location and how you like to ride. If you want more low end and don't need the little extra top then go for it. If you strictly mx and want some more low for that, it might be a consideration.

Yeppers, the one with the black plastic head.

Good luck with it all, we'll be thinking about you.

I'm looking to get a new 200 watter and will be ordering the adj. timing plate also. I saw that Ricky Stator now offers a flywheel with "heavier magnets" to give a lot more lightt in the lower rpms, which I would really like. I would like to have boonman either 1) lighten my current flywheel or 2) lighten the RS flywheel before it's all installed. My concern is that I don't know if it's possible or more difficult to lighten the flywheel with more / heavier magnets. I don't know where you pull the weight off exactly and if the additional magnets would be a problem. Almost forgot, anyone see on of these flywheels in action or done something similar? I'm wondering how much it really helps and how much extra "low rpm" light I'll get and if it's worth it. Later.

Why More Power At 3/4 Throttle Than Full Throttle?
sredish replied to mrmatt's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Just as an FYI, I'm at 220 and have no internal work done, so your not totally crazy. I'm just trying to figure out what to do when I get my port work done, may be drilling some mains. I'm not sure if you can get bigger mains directly from Sudco, maybe so. Just follow the plugs lead. They will tell you what they want. Let us know where you end up. Scott -
Nothing like overpopulated Long Island . You cannot find a house for $200,000. Damn yankees.

I need to find a dyno and see how goes. Those sheet comparisons are pretty damn informative.
