People Magazine Slandering Atv Use. Must Read

That's kinda what they were saying in some ways in regards to the fact is unregulated. Going about it correctly wouldn't be too bad if it was done correctly, although I hate to see the government get involved with quads at all. It seems when something get regulated, it's never the right way and it funnels to a smaller and smaller hole that ends up biting the people that love the sport or whatever it may be. I don't have a problem letting a 12 year old ride dad's utility, if dad is there with him and the kid is wearing a helmet and the dad exercises some responsibility. But clearly that's not the case in the article either. 2 years ago, I probably wouldn't have known what it's like, but I do now. I have a 22 month old and if I lost him to something like what happened in that article, I know it would be my damn fault and I would blame myself. Hell, I'd feel so horribly rotten that I'd probably have to go on medication. How can these parents sleep at night? I just really don't know. -

I've got the router setup for "Auto Configuration DHCP", whatever the hell that means. I have the MAC filter on, along with the WEP keys and the Firewall is on, if that makes a difference. No VPN. -

Office & Laptop - Win XP Pro Office pc is wired via ethernet to the router, laptop is the pmcia card Both are new models from Linksys. Uuuuh... my old network was a P2P, but I'm unsure if the router changes that or not. Dude, I'm network unfriendly. The connection is satellite, Direcway to be exact (I'm in the boonies). The connection is going into the router and out via cable to the Office pc and wireless to the laptop. Hope this helps. Any more info, let me know, I'll sure be glad to do it. -
Forget the mag. glass. Look here at the color on the strap and ceramic. That's about what you want. Although, here the plug was used so little that the outer ring is still shiny, when ran right, that will be the same color as the strap more or less. Mine is usually dark brown.

I had this shit up before. I had my broadband coming into the "office" computer and my laptop networked to it and using the connection. Well, yesterday, I purchased a new Wireless G router / AP and new card for the laptop. I installed and plugged everthing in. Hooked it up and set everything up the way I figured it should be. My internet is working great on both. I can't freaking share files, nor can I find the printer that is connected to the "office" computer. WTF. It worked fine before, all I did was change to the router and re run the network setup wizard to allow for the changed connections. (The office was wireless before, now it's ethernet to the router.) When I try to connect, it says "XXX is not accessible. You may not have permission to access this network resource". Well, I sure as hell had it yesterday. I've checked all the folder permissions, and everything's hunky dory. I disabled the firewall on the router and the Internet Security software, sill no go. I'm at my wit's end. If you guys can't help me, I'm calling in the big dogs, and opening my wallet to them. Also, my wireless network (WLAN ) on the laptop will connect, then disconnect, then connect, then disconnect. WTF is up with that? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. You guys helped me huge when I had to build my own site, now that's up, surely someone can chime in on this. EDIT: Oh yeah, I've tried pinging the IPs and it timed out. Later.

I Raced A Honda 450r Over The Weekend
sredish replied to SICK BOY's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Good info, though I also feel the banshee's first gear is too tall. I never use it but putting around, should be a hair lower. I'd like to get on a Honda 450 then a Yami 450 and see how goes. I might end up buying if I rode one, better not ride one. Later -
that would be a fun race. i'd say a lot has to do with rider ability, but my choice would be cr, then yz then kx, but I feel the cr and yz will be awfully close, with the kx not far behind.

You don't have stock carbs on there is your running 175 mains..... If you have 175 mains, then your running keihin carbs Absolutely right. Damn, why didn't I catch that. My guess is you bought the quad used and those carbs were on there. You'll need to do some jetting & plug reading to get it figured out where you need to go. Good call Banchetta. Your always cleaning up my messes.
-
Absolutely, post a pic, if you don't know how email me a pic or something and we'll get it up and get some opinions on it. I'd really hate to see you have problems over something really simple. You want the strap over the center to be black and the ring around the end and the tip of the porcelain (the end of the plug) to be a chocolate. It is true that a lot of people read them differently and I'm sure many are different than how I read mine, but the way I read a plug requires no extra tools or crap. I just pull the plug and look at the strap and end of the plug and I know where I need to go.
-
yep, check the petcock (an inline filter is an easy way), then the carbs. the vent cap is a very good suggestion, if it's kinked under the bars or has gone bad, it could prevent flow. mine twisted at the dunes once and did that, prevented flow, i was panicing then realized it and shee started right up after unkinking.

I'm putting this back up for the people away for the weekend, and with only 198 views, there's more of 'em out there. -
Basically, unplug the white triangle plug thats under the left side of the gas tank. then unplug the plug that's in the parking brake and follow it down to the left side of the radiator and unplug that. You can buy a tors eliminator kit that will have new caps and the necessary stuff to put in idle screws if you want that, but I ran my shee for a year without it, no probs.

I'm getting ready to go get dynoed this week. There is a guy who will meet people at the stealership, your house, or where ever, he has a portable dyno. Anyone have any experience with this, is it "trustable"? I'm going to be trying to get all the power out of my machine i can, i'm not adding anything, just rejetting for the warmer temps and seeing what i can do for her. Any tips on what the best way to go about it is and what to start with or just anything in particular? I know how to read sheets, but that's about all the expertise I have, so I just wanted to check first to be fully prepared. Later.

Hell yeah, glad to hear it. Now you need some Norton Internet Security to keep shit out. Oh yeah, try not to stay up all night lookin at naked girlies.

You know, I get off the pc and i'm fine, then i get back on, check here and read the new posts and get pissed off all over again. I feel you Motul, in regards to the old school quads. The lt250r is my all time fave, not because the speed, or handling, or this and that, but because it was my first real quad and i had a lot of good times with one. I could rant and rant, but I'll go and do something more constructive for the time being. Thanks again for the feedback, good to hear the feedback and glad you all get as wound up as i do over this shit. -
220 sounds pretty lean for those pipes. are they pipes new, or uninstalled?? by changing the reeds alone, you shouldn't have much of a change, if any, but if your installing the pipes, you'll need to go up to say 280 give or take a several sizes depending on what your bike likes.
-
i think around 37 or 38. pretty close anway. someone correct me if i'm wrong.
-
yeah, that sounds really lean. that just ain't right. how long have those jets been in???? did you check the plugs after you installed them???? I'd say you should be at a 270 or 280 minimum with Bill's pipes and stock carbs. You need to work on your jetting and/or make damn sure you know what you've got before you ride anymore. Otherwise..... BOOOMMM, no more shee to ride. Also, bigger carbs will do virtually nothing for you until you get a lot more mods. The cost way overpowers the one or two hp gain you get. Trust me, it's won't help at this stage of the game. Wait until after you have your portjob and maybe are ready for some stroking. Only exception to this is if you were looking for more low/mid power and the single carb setup would be good for that.
