  1. I agree, for the CPIs to perform they way they should, you'd be wanting some porting and some mods to really get it breathing. I'd say for the stock bike, T5s or T6s would work great and get the power your looking for, plus they'll take your future mods pretty well as the bike grows. Scott
  2. Raise/richen the needle a clip and lower/lean the pilot one size is what he was saying.
  3. check on ebay. you can find some deals on them sometimes. that's where I got mine, for like 4 bills.
  4. What a coinkidink!!! That's what is on my bike too!!!!!!!!! me too me too!! ooh, didn't notice how old this post was. i feel the gray hairs coming in.
  5. that's probably what your looking for. Like Mullet said, the 370 probably isn't going to do what your looking for. I'm all about the 404 kit. When it's time for the top end, she'll be getting a 404.
  6. You can go to the dealer and get 4 or 5 gallons of race fuel and try it to see if it goes away. That's another thought. No matter what, you need to check the compression. Later man.
  7. That ain't no shit. last time i was out on the main road of the south entrance, talk about inhaling sand. wind picked up and my tent was coated, inside, sleeping bag and all. later.
  8. Hmmm, why thank you. I'm a big huge fan of that setup. Granted, I know it's limits, but I don't plan on exceeding those limits. Limits would be serious 1/4 drag or super heavily modified bike. It would actually be a great 1/8 mile carb. I don't mean you couldn't drag, just wouldn't be ideal setup for long top end rev drags. You will not lose top end speed. That depends on gearing, but with the extra power you could actually gain speed because you could pull a higher gear. What I meant by, gain top end, low end, etc, is the power in the rpm range. You will gain a lot more power in the lower rpm range (we all know the stock banshee is lacking in that dept.), you will gain a good amount of power in the mid rpm range and you will gain more power in the top end rpm range. Basically, your hp will be increased from bottom to top, it will smooth the powerband, make it less on/off and let you pull a higher gear in the tranny, along with higher sprocket gearing. Here's a link to the Trinity website. I'd recommend the 35mm as it will take you farther down the road with future mods and not limit you as much. They claim 20% more power in the bottom end and 15% in the top, compared to stock carbs. There are other carb setups that will gain you more power but not by much and you'll be losing most of the midrange power your gaining with this setup. Trinity Single Carb Setup Geez, that's enough. Don't know why I get going like that.
  9. I'll tell ya when I get there.
  10. i don't know how well that will help, you probably should just start with the jetting. such a smartass.
  11. shit, you let some unconscious fool slip 3 g's on the ground. that shit be mine!!
  12. i know someone's gonna ask this, so I'll bite. Who in the hell would want pop ups and turn the shit off if it was working. Just thought I'd ask.
  13. Word on all that shit. I didn't clean here good before I went last time, so I'll be doing it this time. Thanks for all the good input. Sounds like Simple Green is simply "the shit". Later.
  14. prolly not but I dont have any grip glue on hand and Im sick of spinning grips so we'll see how it works. if not I'll drive the 40 miles to my closest dealer and get some grip glue for $7 per half ounce. Well, I've tried the paint and hairspray, in fact, my grips are hairsprayed right now, and they both spin, the left one really bad. After reading this post this morning, it's got me thinking about getting new ones today and some glue, cause I'm sick of them spinning. I always forget about it until I get on to ride, then I'm like, "damn grips". Later.
  15. Did you put your cable back in and try it again? Usually when it kinks, its because it's caught on something under the framerail or going up beside the rad. Hmm, maybe that's not it. If it's sliding good and looks good, then that might not be what it is. Stupid question, but is your thumb throttle adjustment letting slack in the cable when you let off? How is the carb boot on the intake side? Just trying to think of some things. Later.
  16. if you're going that route, extra hold hairspray works better. I personally don't think any of that homebrew stuff works as good as grip cement.
  17. I'll sell for $50 or best offer. It's in perfect condition, and works just like when it was new, I just need some extra uumph for my Hellas. Scott
  18. I cut the sprocket part of my stator cover off to make it easy to get to. I've since upgraded to a billet 3 piece cover. If you want my stator cover you can have it, but it doesn't cover the sprocket, just the stator. For FYI, it still seals the stator like it did before. Scott
  19. First, have you run a compression check to see what your compression actually is with that milled head? I'd do that first and foremost so you/we know what you're/we're playing with. Second, are you sure that the "premium" gas your buying is 97 / 98 or more like 91/92? I believe you might be needing to run some 110 in it to keep if from "knocking". I have a feeling your compression is higher than you think. I'm not a blaster guy at all, don't know the typical jetting settings so I can't help you with jet sizes. I'd try the needle a clip richer and see how that goes. What I can say is, run a plug check to see what it looks like and that will tell you how your main jet is sitting, then adjust the needle for best performance, same with the pilot. Get back after you check the compression and run the plug. Scott
  20. Great low, awesome midrange pull and great top end compared to stockers. You'll have added power across the board, with a huge increase in the low/mid. PLUS, only jetting one carb (takes about 4 minutes), no syncing carbs or screwing with the duals no more. Also, much cleaner around the engine area, no rats nest and easier to get in there and clean. Woooohoooo. Best mod I've ever added to my machine, bar none!! Most who have that setup will agree.
  21. I've thought about doing that so many times, but I'm much too lazy.
  22. I'd be lying if I didn't say I wouldn' tmind having one in my stables.
  23. Thanks, Lincster. I don't get to the dunes too often, maybe three or four times a year, but this year I'm gonna try to get there once a month or every 6 weeks. After I went last time, I had some sand caked up in around the motor and had a hard time getting it out when I got back. Not sure why it was sticking up in there. I didn't have any problems, just that I didn't have an inline filter last time and, like I said before, got some sand in my fuel and clogged my pilot. I had it cleaned in about five minutes (thanks to my single carb). That's taken care of now, and it was blowing quite a bit the second day I was there and I filled up that day, so that might have contributed also. I'll be sure to clean her really good before I leave so I have a clean engine area for no sand to stick to. That's probably why it was sticking, cause there was a film of dirt, or something a little oily. My motor's sealed fine and runs fine, no leaks. I'm going to change my carb boots as they are getting a little dry and starting to crack a little. I hear you on the chain, I use Chain Wax, and I'm going to try the Honda stuff this time since I've heard so many good things, but I like my Chain Wax pretty well. Thanks again. Scott
