  1. Yes, 2 35 watt bulbs on the front will pretty much do it. I run Hella 500s on mine and before I could afford a 200 watt stator, I just ran 35 watt H3 bulbs in it, the lighting was better than stock with the better Hella housing. You can get 35watt H2 bulbs, just do a search. Scott
  2. I like a 22" tall tire, but the widest I go is 8" wide. My current fronts are Razr II 22x7x10. An 11" wide is pretty wide for the front. I don't have experience running a front that wide, there shouldn't really be any problems, if you want them, then try them. Scott
  3. Did you guys read the "Wideopen" editorial in the front of Dirtwheels in the new June issue? This is EXACTLY what he's talking about, the media's portrayal of atv use and their one-sided analysis of how dangerous atv's are. Good read, check it out. Scott
  4. well, that's not exactly how I meant that to be interpreted. my bad for not being thorough. However, it's not totally uncommon that one cylinder will get a slightly different air/fuel mixture due to the choke circuit and how it's setup on dual carbs. i would make sure the carbs are clean and no clogged jets. I would also suggest running a wide-open-throttle plug test to make sure your main jets are jetted correctly and that your plugs look like they're burning the same. Also, be sure to try new fuel and new plugs, old fuel can burn crappy and old plugs can keep from burning a complete combustion. After you've ruled that both cylinders are running the same and there are no air leaks, carb problems, etc, and you're just having a smoking issue, it would probably be alright to adjust the pilot in one carb slightly different the other but I wouldn't adjust more than one size different than the other. If it requires more than one size to clear the smoke, you may have some other issues. Also, don't run your needles in different clip positions; always keep your needles and mains exactly the same. Above all, make sure you have no other problems or issues before, so you don't mask another problem. Later.
  5. Yeah, I was thinking 400ex or z400. They're both easy to ride and can be a lot of fun, even for you if have to ride out (like if the shee's under repair). I think the z would be more fun overall for the both of you and she'd have an easier time keeping up. Later.
  6. Depends on elevation, but should be around 125 to 130.
  7. If it still hesitates a little in the midthrottle, then that might be a good idea. personally, richening the needle is good for response, but not to the point of bogging it out. i didn't ignore your other post, i just was trying to think and kept forgetting to get back.
  8. damn, why didn't i think of telling him that. exactly. that will eliminate your cable altogether. damn, i hate to be outsmarted.
  9. Anytime, and don't be afraid to ask, that's the only way. BTW, if you run your wide-open-throttle plug test and your unsure or anything, get back with the color and we'll help you get her straight. If she bogs out or fouls on your wide-open run then just back her down a little and go again. Little by little and you'll have it, plus, you'll learn a lot about how your machine runs and what your machine likes. Good luck. Scott
  10. If your duning quite a bit, don't get something with the top end limitations of a 2-1 pipe setup. The 2-1 pipes are great, but they're better off on 100% woods, mx and tighter areas. If your in the dunes, your gonna want some top end power that the 2-1s aren't gonna give. If your 1/2 aggressive trails and 1/2 dunes, then FMF Fatties, Paul Turner mids would both be awesome pipes with that carb setup, they'll emphasize the power that the carb is adding and really bring it on. The PT mids make a little more power than the FMFs but they're very pricey and the FMFs are an awesome bang for your buck pipe that responds extremely well to future mods. I have the single carb with FMF Fatties and it screams. Runs awesome on the track, runs great on the trails, and still gets out on the dunes and hangs right in there at the drags and ripping across the razorbacks. Trust me. BTW, if your able to, me and a few friends are kicking it out to LS, OK this coming weekend, why don't you join us. Hey, you can see the carb and pipes in action.
  11. have you checked to make sure you need a colder plug and what do you have that requires the need for a colder plug? the only place you can really tell is on the strap of the ground electrode that comes off the base ring. if the color changes on the bend, that's the correct heat range, if it changes at the base ring, then it's too hot of a plug and if it changes out on the end (over the center electrode in the center of the plug) then it's too cold. You might check that to see if you really need a colder plug.
  12. Yes, but they'll be quite soft. To help that, tighten the adjustment on the bottom of the shock, that'll help stiffen a little.
  13. no, and i don't see any need for a change in the heat range. there are many people running highly modified that don't require a heat change in the plugs.
  14. if your @ 155 with 21cc then you'll be needing race fuel with 20cc, at least a 50/50 mixture.
  15. I was just looking at all his auctions, and the powdercoated is $359, but if you want all triple chromed, it's $530. Not sure which I'd want, the chrome are nice as hell, but the price for the others are right on. What about warranty, anything there Fox? I don't see anything on the site. What did you decide to do on your shee, sell it or keep it?
  16. Thanks cheezehead, i really needed to see that deal. Looks pretty nice. Fox, you like yours huh? I might just have to try a set then.
  17. Most of the people here say that Metallica sucks is too young to know who Metallica was. Don't follow Metallica much anymore but when I was in highschool and somewhat before, Metallica was totally f*^king awesome. Don't give a f*^k attitude with the metal to prove it. I still have my "Cliff 'em all" video. That's some good shit right there.
  18. Wait, what did I say, did I say something? Hmmm, must have been someone else. HA!!! We're all kinda freaky that way.
  19. Here is they way I go about jetting. Keep in mind, this is my way, everybody has a different way. 1) Install guesstimated main size 2) Run plug check 3) Dial main jet in where it needs to be (may take 2 or 10 plug checks) 4) Dial in pilot for off-idle response 5) Dial in needle (dial in by running bike and adjusting needle for best performance) Note: When richening needle, leaning pilot may be required. So, what I'm saying is, get your main set first, even if the off idle is a little off. Get your main set where it needs to be then work down. If you try to worry about it all at once, it's overwhelming and a PITA.
  20. I'll mail you a set of FMF stickers if you want, you could put them on and resell them as FMFs. Throw em on and see how they work. Scott
  21. Maybe a little fat, I was thinking more on the lines of 320, give or take. No one really knows, you could 320 or 350. Do a plug check with the 350 in and you will soon find out. If it's all wet, then yeah, come down one size at a time till the plug looks the way you want.
  22. well, i've been trying to figure out where on my machine the freaking boost bottle goes, I can't seem to find the hole for it.
  23. That ain't no shit. last time i was out on the main road of the south entrance, talk about inhaling sand. wind picked up and my tent was coated, inside, sleeping bag and all. later. i mean north entrance. i like it when the girls put on the string bikinis and get nasty.
