My Shee Will No Longer Be Referred To As A Banshee
sredish replied to sredish's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Come on guys, you know this. I couldn't find one damn picture of a yamaha service manual on the net. Haynes and Clymer list it as "Banshee" but my Yamaha service manual list as YFZ350 Banshee. Go figure. -
19's plus your +4 timing equals your need for race gas, stay with 22's and stick wiht pump gas.

My Shee Will No Longer Be Referred To As A Banshee
sredish replied to sredish's topic in General Banshee Discussion
You wait and see. I'm gonna start a new trend. No longer will I be calling her Banshee, she's now known as my YFZ. Pretty soon, everybody will be calling her that. In fact, I think we all need to write letters and petition an additional name for the 450 to be called. YFZ350=Banshee YFZ450=??Turdlicker?? Just a thought. -
Flywheel Lightened, 200watt Stator And Adj. Plate

Thought I'd post a pic of the flywheel installed. -
nah, enough to get the top of the rezzie wet but not too much, as soon as that shit came out I crammed that nut back so fast, to hell with where the cable ended up. It actually ended up perfect, but total f'ing luck. I totally knew better, but it was one of those logic out the window things. I was fretting over the hose rubbing a hole through.

that's gnarly. -
I run Tag's soft grips. I love the way they feel, but make sure they're cemented good, cause they like to slip. I love the soft grip feel. Scott

I needed to move the remote hose due to it rubbing on another hose and it was beginning to wear. There was no where to move it so I decided, like a dumbass, to slightly loosen the connection into the reservoir so I could rotate the hose around on the reservoir just a little to gain a different mounting angle. Well, I did loosen it a little, but in the process, I freaking let some fluid out. Not a lot, but some. How bad did this screw up the pressure inside and how bad is it gonna mess up my settings that I had set perfectly. I'll call Elka tomorrow, but i'm leaving early and won't be able to call them until I'm on the road. I did get the hosed moved, so that's good, but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to remove the shock to add oil, or add something back. I should've lifted the rear grab bar to relieve all the pressure on the shock, but I didn't cause I'm a dumbass. What do you all think that's gonna cause? Later.

My Shee Will No Longer Be Referred To As A Banshee

Hmmm. I think..... that's not relevant at the moment. -
you know, i started to download it, and realized I don't want to see it. The very thought of what happened makes me so f*^king sick to my stomach in disgust at those c*^ksuckers. I'm afraid that if I see it I will be so enraged, and there's nothing I can do about it, better for me to respect what he died for and go on. Scott

that's why I used a plate.

I'm going to try to remember my dig. video camera to get some pics / movies. We'll see. I may not want my ugly mug on the www bustin my ass. If so, I'll share. Later. -
I'm sick of the fact that all of a sudden, Yamaha comes out with this great new 450, and now, oooo, we have a YFZ. The "YFZ" has been around a lot longer than a year or two. I believe, if I'm not mistaken, the YFZ came about in 1987, better known as the banshee 350 twin, now all of a sudden everyone's on the YFZ bandwagon. Well, I'm done with it. Some punk, was just in the shop talking to me about my quad, and said, "Dude, have you seen one of those new YFZs". I said, "yea, your lookin at one, except this one's 2 years old". He didn't quite know what I was getting at. I think the new YFZ450, is a great great quad, and I'd love to own one, but technically, saying YFZ, is not specific enough for me anymore. Later.

How come no one ever told me this.

Sounds like your attorney and the thief that originally stole the bike are in on it together. It all sounds like a scam to me. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Only thing I can say is 6 months down the road, it will hopefully be behind you so you can get on with everything else. Scott

I don't use one on my T2s, i like the look without it and the pads for the oversized bars piss me off.
-
i agree. i've never ran a degree key, but from the response i hear is how "it could" happen and to some how it "did happen". The small chance of it happening is not worth saving $25. Of course, my 2 cents.

Not really close, but in Gainesville, there's a Yamaha dealer with a pretty nice newer blue banshee. Looks like it's in pretty good shape. Didn't ask how much cause I'm not in the market. The dealer ship is: Gainesville Powersports Gainesville, TX Call them and find out.

We left at 4:30 this morning and just got back. Went out to Lake Texoma (about 10 miles from my house) and met up with a friend (also a guide) who took 4 of us out Striper fishing. We caught 36 fish totalling 226 lbs. of uncleaned weight, the largest being 12 lbs. We had an awesome time. Normally, striper fishing is over really quick, you sit for an hour, catch 30 or 40 fish in an hour or so and then your done. Today, they weren't biting as fast, but a little more spread out over 4.5 hours which made it really nice and fun. It was a freaking blast. I'll work a few hours this afternoon, then I'm headed off to the dunes tomorrow morning (have I said that before ).

If anyone feels like tagging along, nows the time to say it. I'll be gone at 8am tomorrow morning, headed for LS Okla. Later.

The changing of the sprocket teeth is gearing. Smaller front / Larger rear = lower gearing Larger front / Smaller rear = higher gearing One tooth change on the front is equal to three tooth change in the rear. Gearing is all preference, some like it a little lower, and others like it high. Your machine can only handle gearing so high. If your on a tight track only, lowering it is a consideration, if you like to open it up in the dunes or something, you may experiment with it a little higher. The only way to know how you like it is by experimenting, and as you change mods and add power, it will handle specifc gearing differently. I like it stock until I got all the mods i have, now I like it one tooth bigger in the front (15) and stock in the back (41) for a little higher gearing. This way, it pulls the tranny gears a little longer and there is a little less shifting. As far as chains. Most typical oring chains are sufficient. Thing to look for is tensile strength; should be over 7,000 lbs. DID makes a very good chain, very strong and high quaility. There are many others. If your chain is worn out, a lot of times it's a good idea to change the sprockets also. The reason why: Your sprockets will wear to the chain and if you change the chain, it can have a tendency to not wear well with the sprockets and either wear your chain or your sprockets or both very fast. Cheap steel sprockets, like JT for instance, are like $25 for the front and rear and hold up well. That's all I use. If your chain is worn out, you probably ought to change the sprockets, if it broke, then you'll have to look at the sprockets to see how worn they are. If in doubt, change them. Later.

WTF! I got one here, right here, come and get it.

Flywheel Lightened, 200watt Stator And Adj. Plate
sredish replied to sredish's topic in Product Reviews
Whew!! Just in the nick of time. I didn't have a lot of ride time with the new setup, just a quick warm-up, plug check and a few minutes jammin my little "course" out in the pasture. I'll be headed to the dunes first thing in the morning. I'll know a lot after I get back. Dunes baby!! Ha Ha suckers. -
yep, sounds like a two-stroker.

Whatsup all. Just installed my boonman special, lightened flywheel. Along with that, I installed a new 200 watt stator on an adjustable plate. I could definitely tell the difference in throttle response with the flywheel. Much much easier to rev up and easier to kick into powerband. Throttle is pretty much instantaneous, you hit it and the rpms are there. Another thing I noticed which I hadn't heard about was how fast the rpms would come down when the throttle is let off. Before, when I'd let off the throttle, it'd come down kinda slowly on it's own. With the modded flywheel, they seem to pretty much drop to an idle, which I like. It seems the rpms are easier to maintain and vary based on your liking. A "friend" told me I'd lose some midrange power with the flywheel, and it's quite the opposite, I may not have gained power, but I can hit the powerband easier now from a midrange position. I'm extremely pleased with how it runs. The motor seems to have more of a "go-get-em" attitude now. I'm sure that's also due to the +4 timing she has now. I can pull a wheelie from one gear higher now without clutching, not that I'm much of a wheelie monster. Not to mention the lights are bbbbrrrriiiiigggghhhtttt. Cool, later fellas. Scott PS- Thanks boonman, shee is sweeet. Wish I could keep that flywheel out in the open with how trick it looks.
