then come build me a track.

I do like the brake light for night riding and when hitting the tight trails. I took it off when I first got it, but it didn't take me long to put it back on. Headlights, oh yea, only the best of headlights.

Thanks, that's a great idea, never thought of that.

Need new company name, due to adding offroad facet
sredish replied to sredish's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Well, let's see. I hate to be plain, but I think to the point is the best way, and like . said, I think my name should be a part of it. There are lots of good ideas here and I appreciate every one of them. I think I'm going to go with "Redish Performance & Off Road". I'm going to start looking at some domains and see if I can find something, maybe RPOR.com or RedishPerformance.com, something like that. I'm going on vacation tomorrow and am in a desperate need for one, so I might not do anything on this till I get back. Later fellas. -
WOT is the main jet's territory. Sounds like it's hesitating and you may be a little lean. What are your mods, air filter setup, elevation and so on? Have you ran a plug check to verify your main jet? I'm guessing you have a single carb, and with pipes, normally around 178 or so. More info on jetting: [url="http://www.bansheehq.com/index.php?option=content&task=category

I'm going to experiment with a spare main jet I have. I want to drill it out, but I want to incrementally go up from the 230 jet. Anyone know where on the net you could find the inside diamater sizes for the jets? I'll call carbparts.com tomorrow, but they're closed now, maybe someone knows where to find them online. later.

Yep. NYUK is the source of info when it comes to drags.

your main first, start at 300, then your needle clip position, then your pilot. dialing the main in first is key. then let 'er rip.

Well, the 5520 is hard to find, he can't find one anywhere. He has a 6420 in stock. I went to look at it and told him to deliver it after I get back from vacation next week. This thing is freaking loaded with features. I won't know what to do with myself. LCD 5" display shows diagnostics and other computer crap. I'll need to go to college just to run this thing. 24 forward/reverse gears. You select one of the six ranges then push the up or down button on the shifter to choose between 4 gears within the range. The forward/reverse lever is on the dash up front. When roading, plowing or other situations where different gears are suitable, you can set it to automatically shift at certain shift points to quickly gain speed.

pic please.

Maxxis is usually 32:1 to 60:1. 32:1 is absolutely fine, in fact, there is probably no oil that won't work with that mixure. BTW, if you decided to go with 40:1, it'd probably not do anything to your jetting, that is such a slight difference, it'd take a huge change to really do a lot to your jetting. Might try a 40:1 and see how it runs, that's what I mix at. It's your call and your fine with that mixture.

scott m`s tuna fish can pipes uuuh, what pipes?? nope, haven't heard of those.

Exactly, with some pics, we can probably identify where the problem lies. I have a feeling it is an a-arm though.

man, i don't think your going to get that done. there is no way your stator will even come close to running a winch. you'd without a doubt, need a battery to run that. you could possibly set it up with an rz wiring harness and the generator/alternator from the rz. i don't know shit about the rz, don't know what it uses to charge the battery, but it's got to have something that would supply a charge to the battery, and the batter would allow you to use the winch. that is the only way I can see it working. What i'd do is just get a hand winch if you really need one, that will work fine. just store it on your rear grab bar, or better yet, get a six pack rack and keep it in there. i don't see the electric winch happening on your shee, call me crazy. there are no banshee winch bumpers. you could also use the six pack rack for a winch mounting point.

Damn tats. Your gonna be alright though it sounds like so that's good. Anything other than bruising? Wonder what happened, just hit a wake and missled off that bitch huh? If you'd have done that with your shee, you'd be f'ed up right now. I freaking love pwc's. I had a 96 Doo XP with porting, high comp., pipes, carbs, other shit I don't even remember and an impeller. Don't know what she put out, probably around 150 or so, but she freaking flied. If you pegged that throttle, it was flat gone, only weighed about 350lbs, compared to the newer machines in the 6 and 7 hundreds. One of the most insane speed rushes I've ever experienced. I had all the stock decals on it and the only thing you could tell to the mods was the sound of the exhaust. I was going to get into racing, but it never panned out. Not much around here and don't have time to travel. Anyway, we were all beached, hanging out and this one kinda friend runs out and hops on the fucker. I was kinda pissed but figured it'd be alright. About an hour later, he's still freaking gone. We hop in the ski boat and go find him about a mile away at the dock with it hooked up to jumper cables and his truck. I'm like WTF? Turns out, he was showing off around the dock for the girlies and dunks it. It died and won't start, so he thinks the batter is dead and freaking hooks his truck up to it. He's turning it over and turning it over. I fucking freaked on his ass. Spent 12 hours straight (from 8pm till 8am the next morning) trying to get the water out and pumping the motor. Took the head off and was spinning the motor and doing everything i thought I could to get the water out. The next morning, I took it straight to the Sea Doo shop and told them to help me, I didn't know what to do. To make it short, I had to get a $800 shortblock, put it all back together, then a $400 starter from killing it trying to get the water out and a $200 battery. That thing still was never right. I paid $3500 for it and traded straight across for my banshee that I have now. I got the banshee when it was 6 months old and virtually unused. Sat in a garage cause the owner travelled for work. Even with the damage done, I feel I got pretty close back to even and the guy paid me $500 for what he did, that's all he had. I might get another one day, but I'm still pretty sore with what happened, I'll just keep using the boat. Later, sorry for being a post pirate, just wanted to share my experience. EDIT: I doubt I was getting that much power, I was thinking about that and I was probably short of that number.

that's very likely why the popping is occuring. 380s are pretty fat. the only unsure thing you have is the port and polish. that could require a lot more fuel, or not much at all. Like reas said, throw in a 320 and run a plug check and see if the popping subsides. Let us know what you get.
-
Don't rely solely on the "sputter" or "hesitation". 260 sounds pretty lean just from my experience with them, but the ONLY way to really tell is by reading the plugs. If it's sputtering, so be it, run your wide-open-throttle test anyway and see how the plugs color. That will tell you what you need to do. If it were me, I'd just go ahead and throw in a set of 300s and hope your rich, then you can work down for the ideal main jetting. The way I see it, if you start lean and work up, you won't really know if you need more fuel without trying it, but if you start rich, then you know your rich and you can work down into the ideal air/fuel mixture. If your a tad on the rich side, your fine, but if your a tad on the lean side, and something happens or it overheats or something, you'll be running the risk of some nasty shit. Once your main jetting is where it should be, based on plug readings and bike performance, then dial in the main by trying several clip settings. Try the 3rd, and the 4th and see which runs better. Then you'll be flyin...

Wouldn't have thought any different...

That's too bad. We understand. Man, I gotta get up there and ridin with you homeys... That is, if you Yankees will let me in.

Yeah, I meant to say a sprocket change also. 2 to 3 quad lengths sounds about right for what you compared to. Yep, some pipes, reeds, air setup and you'd be right in there, but he'll still be tough. Problem is, they're easier to ride so if you miss one shift or are a little late, he's got you. Get your head decked for less than a hundred, in fact, Boonman on the site does it, and I think he's really cheap and his work is first class quality. I know from first-hand experience. Changing the front or rear doesn't matter, just depends on the gearing your looking for. One tooth change to the front is equal to 3 teeth change in the rear, make sense? I run a 15 front tooth and fine tune the gearing with the rear sprocket. Gearing is all personal preference. Since sprockets are so cheap, I'd buy a 15 front and 2 rear sprockets and play with them to see what you like better. Later.

nah, i'm going home to northern colorado, steamboat to be exact, with the motorhome and the Jeep to do a little jeepin, playin, golfin, mtn bikin, raftin, oh and drinkin. However, the shee will not be going and I'm upset about that. Probably because my wife knows that's all I'd be doing and she's probably right. I'm still going to try to sneak her under the Jeep. Have fun at LS, I'd love to go. I'm going to try for the weekend of the 12th or whatever that weekend is there.

Give it a try now, but your going to need to be on your best riding day, and you'll probably be a little behind him with his mods, he'll be hard to head off. To really make a statement, the below will help out: Pipes, compression, ProFlow air setup, Vforce reeds, timing plate. Then ride the way it needs to be ridden and you should be good to go. It won't matter, because once you start, you won't stop. A year from now, you'll be, "what about a +4 stroker", and it never stops. Good luck.

I'm kind of a fan of tandem when you got some weight. However, the key to pulling good and not being a PITA to tow is weight distribution and axle position. You'll want a 60/40 distribution with the majority of the weight towards the front and the axles in the back 2/3rds o the trailer. If the axle is in the middle, there's just as much trailer in the back wanting to swing around and it will want to move around a lot more. Tandem axles will help this also, but the weight distribution and axle position is key. My truck can handle some weight, I have some airbags and stuff on the rear and I'm not afraid to put more weight on the truck and that will keep it straight.

Where can I get instruction manual?
sredish replied to nebraskabanshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
only thing i can think of is a factory service manual.
