  1. I'm running +4 now, but I have very minimal time on it, in fact just about 3 hours, and I also lightened the flywheel so in the 3 hours it was pretty hard to determine what caused what. I have a buddy who is running like +10. A few on the forums are running +7. When is advancing the timing enough and what would one person expect to see going from stock to +4 and then what would they expect to see going from +4 to +7 and even more? You obviously don't want to get it too advanced, but how far is "too advanced"? I never really have heard a flat statement regarding the timing, so here's the chance for everyone to speak up. Later.
  2. there are a lot of parts from Ford that are made in Mexico. In fact, some joke that the only American influence to the SuperDuty is the assembly, a lot of the stuff is built in Mexico then shipped by train to USofA and assembled. Don't believe me, the first and easiest place to see this is on the leaf springs. They should have a Made in Mexico stamp. I bet 75% of the parts are made there for the good ol' Super Duty.
  3. are you trying to sell it or not??
  4. how bout the swingarm linkage connecting bolt washer?
  5. I run a 15/41 gearing generally. If if get's a little tight or sometimes at the dunes, I'll switch to a 40 rear. That's a good combo. I run the cheapest sprockets I can find. Like JT sprockets from MagicRacing or Primary Drive from RockyMountain, they are just plain ol good sprockets, with nothing fancy to raise the price. The DID is a very good chain, can't go wrong with it.
  6. I hope it works out. Sounds like your pretty close if not right on. Just keep an eye on the outer base ring at the end of the plug, around the outside of the thread, you'll want it to be pretty dark also. On this plug below, it's not colored hardly at all on the outer ring because it's new, but you can see that the ground strap is pretty dark, should be a dark chocolate color, then where the bend is on the strap, it'll darken more, probably to black. If these two things, the strap and the outer ring, are lighter than a brown, you'll want to richen a little more. I'm just putting this out there for FYI, the jets your running sounds just about right for that exhaust and if your bog is gone, then your obviously getting it dialed right. Glad you got it worked out, if you have any more problems, let us know, someone here can probably get you fixed up.
  7. There in Images, just can't remember for sure which thread, but I think his "Toys" thread.
  8. Hmm, don't know about tv on the net. No DirecTV or Dish Network huh, that's too bad. If I see something, I'll forward it your way.
  9. I'm with money, sounds like a seriously raving bitch, but it would be the shit. I don't think it would really work, nor do I think the finish would be what you'd expect without a nice clean polish put on the cast metal. The thickness it adds is not as thick as I expected. Basically, you'd just be anodizing the exterior surfaces, that's a lot of masking, and one slip would be mucho problemos.
  10. Slotting the stock plate is pretty easy. You want to be able to rotate the plate clockwise, so the slot should move to the left of the mounting hole. 1mm equals about 1 degree of timing, so if you slotted 5mm to the left of the hole and slid it all the way over, you'd have about 5 degrees of timing. I'd use die grinder or something. Even a small grinding tool on the end of a drill would work. That light metal will grind/drill really easy. If the stator is fried, get a new one, don't mess with trying to repair one. Like J.J. said, go to RickyStator.com to get a new one, a stock watted is pretty inexpensive and for a small bit more, you can get a 200 watter if you ever plan to run lights, you'd have enough power to burn the ass hairs off of a cow from 200 yards.
  11. Aaight. I'd like to go, and if there is any way to hook up, I'd like to make it out there. Never been there, don't really know where the "first pond" is. I have a prior engagement of playing golf with my dad in the morning. He wants to go early, this probably means 7 or 8am at the latest. I also have to go to D/FW around 6pm. So, if I play 9 holes, I could be done by 11. You'll be gone, but I guess I could meet you. I'd be out there by noon, then could ride for 3 or 4 hours, and head home. What do you think of that? I'd need to know how to get in and find you though, I hate going to riding places and not knowing anyone at all, plus the last time I rode, I busted some shit up and needed my buds to get me to the hospital. What are friends for right? Cool, tell you what. My cell phone number is 903-651-5151, it's on 24/7. I'll be up late tonight working, probably till 2 or 3am, you can call me tonight, or call me in the morning before you leave and we can work on it from there. I live on the west side of Whitesboro on Hwy 82 (north side), where Hwy 56 come in, right at the westbound on ramp. Hell, we are super friendly, you could drive up and we could ride together if I can get done. Later. Scott
  12. Yea, it won't run worth a shit if they're in backwards.
  13. Oh yea, i'm a dumbass. I've been by there a hundred million trillion times, though I've never ridden out there. Is there a lot of space to ride?
  14. That is a pretty good oil from what i've heard. i had a bud in colorado that raced mx with it and his cylinders were always in good condition and didn't have any excessive wear. I second the 40:1, that's what i use with my 927.
  15. Great info man. I appreciate the detailed reply. I'll be checking out the Swish and all that jazz. I'm headed there now. Later.
  16. we're cutting hay right now on about 100 right now and discing up some of the rest for replanting. i've also gotta get ready to spray fertilizer and herbicide this next week.
  17. yes, reeds can also be a possibility. when did you check the plug for this issue, at idle, or wide-open-throttle, or maybe after a short ride. what i'd suggest is to first, run a WOT test, and what I mean is get out on a straight stretch and run it up to 5th or 6th gear at wide-open-throttle. When you get up to 5th or 6th and your holding totally pegged, pull clutch and kill the motor with the throttle still held until you stop. then get off and check the plugs. See how they look that way. Then when you get back, let it idle for 3 or 4 minutes and check them again, this will give you an idea as to how it's normally running ( w/ the wot run) and then how the idle circuit is running. the reason i say this, is because it could be a choke circuit issue at idle, but when you get out and go riding, it's no longer an issue. And, if that's the case, it's not unheard of to have a larger pilot on the left than on the right, and I don't mean a drastic difference, i mean by no more than say one size. check it out, you may have already done this, i'm just trying to isolate the issue. Later.
  18. really, golly that's so nice, i shoulda just asked. just send me the money, i'll be sure to get the stuff out to ya. i'm workin my ass off to get this thing up. I've got 150 acres we're farming right now, 5 custom homes going, my wife is out of town, playing golf, needing to go ride all at the same time. Whew, I'm trying man. I probably shoulda just paid someone to do it for me.
  19. Damn, trying to put something together is tough. I can't figure it out. I found a "flash generator" and it actually looks pretty sweet, but it has a freaking address on the bottom that I can't get off, so that just screws it up. Say I do find, or get a good flash animation to use as an intro, how do I link it up with the site, and what would I name the page that it's loaded on, and then I'd link it to my index.html page right? This is pretty new to me. Later.
  20. I don't think i've been to Rocky Ridge. Where's that at? I have to head to D/FW around 5pm to pick the wife up at the airport. I'd be interested in hittin it but have to sure I can make it back.
  21. I really like the main menu setup. Pretty slick. Seems to be loading very quickly, and i'm on high speed.
  22. it means my sausage is 51mm wide and yours is 25mm long. couldn't resist the smartass attempt...
