  1. yeah, he became kinda distant about the time the baby came.
  2. just try changing the needle, I see a lot of people complain about the low / mid and it seemed a lot of cases are attributed to the "Toomey" (aka Blaster) needle. I was informed awhile back that the "Toomey" needle is really just a Blaster needle.
  3. depends on how you like to ride and how your shee is set up currently. if you like to dune and mx, and your shee is primarily for mx and set up that way, spend the dough on a ds or raptor. it's your money, and we don't know how you feel, you may want the shee and then something a little tamer to ride, or for the gf, you'll have to make that decision. I will say, for me, it'd be nice to have another sport quad (say thumper) to have to beat around on and take it easy when I want to. I can do that on the shee with no probs, but I would like one.
  4. then it was your local area code.
  5. what number? oh, didn't see it up there...
  6. what's dial-up? If you have a clear view of the sky (and your in the US), you can get hi-speed. They didn't offer hi-speed here until a few months ago. About a year ago, I subscribed to Direcway satellite internet. Works a hundred times better than dial-up and you can get it anywhere in the US, just like DirecTV. In fact, you can get your DirecTV and Direcway through the one satellite dish, but it's not the usual DirecTV satellite, you need a new one. Take a look.
  7. fuel line out, slides in and out with no effort, you can see where it's been dripping, and i haven't washed it since riding the yesterday.
  8. nope haven't done anything. too lazy i guess. I'll deal with it tomorrow, I imagine. I'd post a pic, but my camera is at home, and I'm not. Really strange, the nipple the fuel line clamps on can be slid in and out.
  9. I think it's about time to start showing off the little one, we'd like to see some pics, maybe a couple on a raptor 50 with the long travel suspension.
  10. I'd put the stock needle back in and try it in the 4th clip. what are you running for a pilot, stock?
  11. I was out riding some yesterday (with dalegoldston) and after we had rode for a little while, I was looking in at the engine area, carbs and just checking things out. I noticed some dirt buildup on the backside of the petcock and realized some fuel was leaking out. So, I reached over to make sure everything was tight, and I wiggled the hose on the nipple and it was loose. I pulled on it, very very lightly and the damn thing came out and fuel comes pouring out. But there is just enough pressure from the length of the hose to keep it pressed in there tight enough that it doesn't drip, it must just leak some when I'm hitting bumps or landing or something like that. You guys think I need a new petcock or is there something that should be on there. His was very tight, so I think I'm out one petcock. None of the dealers are open today or I'd have one coming. Just wanted some thoughts from you guys. Later.
  12. Dude, that freaking bites. Remind me not to go to da bronx.
  13. Boonman, you probably know this dude, from Seneca, NY.
  14. That is the most awesome thing I've ever seen. I could look at it forever, of course I'd be shaking my head the whole time. Freaking "power band clutch", that is the ultimate.
  15. you sound like your from Griswald's European Vacation.
  16. yeah, ok. that will happen. then it's pipe, then cam, then compression... and I'd be starting all over again. God, how much fun that would be. Really, I don't know shit about the mods for the four strokers, never had a reason to pay attention to th. That's a really bad thing to hear, loco, because it just makes me want one even more. Tell you what, I've got a 4x4 I'll trade you straight across, even has blackwaters.
  17. Also, the clip on the needle is more towards 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. The pilot jet will affect the needle up to 1/4 or 3/8 throttle, so if the bog comes on early in the throttle, then the pilot jet could/would be the culprit.
  18. That does look badass, but how much extra fuel can that hold, compared to the expense and labor. I guess if your struggling to keep the regular look, like with fullbores, then that'd work. I'd probably do anything to keep the fullbores if i had a set.
  19. haha, no shit. I didn't realize that was the link i put. good call.
  20. gearing is all personal taste in your particular riding style. certain gearing does help the machine's ability in certain riding styles, but the best to see what suits your riding is trial and error.
  21. Is this at full throttle or half throttle? If it's wide-open-throttle, it's your main jet. You can kill it holding the throttle open and clutching it to a stop and check the plugs at the bog. The color will tell you if your rich or not. If it's a bog (not sputtering) and it doesn't die, sounds like it could be a lean condition.
  22. low end pipes are not top end pipes, a low end pipe will diminish your top end... if you want to keep your top end then your going to have to get a midrange to top end pipe. it sounds like you want some decent low and good mids, so an all-around pipe is what you need. FMF Fatties FMF SSTs Paul Turner Mids Pro Circuits those come to mind.
  23. Cool. I was just searching and reading. I swear I've searched before and not pulled much info, but I found some stuff this time. Faintly do I remember Banchetta's dyno that shows stock, +4 and like +7 or something, and his dyno showed +4 making the best power for stock and ported machines, up to +4 mil. I'll just leave it the hell alone. His dyno sheets have been pulled, so you can't see them anymore. Mostly, I was just wondering what the fellas running the more advanced motors knew that I didn't, you know, don't want to miss out on free hp, like that really exists. I know that the ignition curve falls off quite a bit at higher rpms, and maybe this is why the draggers like it so high, because they're in the higher rpms mostly and that allows a more advanced timing in that higher rpm area. Who knows. Later.
