  1. What more can I add? Reeds will change things a little. Any hoo...
  2. Thanks fro. The site is going slowly. I still don't have the software on this machine up and running for it, so I've been trying to spend a little time every day or so (that really ends up being about 2 or 3 days a week) on my wife's desktop working on it. I've got 3 new houses to start this week and just poured a slab on Thurs. so I'm just too f'ing busy, I guess. I'm gonna ride tomorrow though. That's all that matters right now. Here's a close pic of the wheel/tire.
  3. I'll be anxious to hear how those work for ya Banchetta.
  4. Here's the new wheels/tires. They didn't send the god damned caps, so you'll notice that. They're supposed to be here Tues. I like the setup, maybe need another 2 inches or so, like I mentioned earlier in this thread. Later.
  5. I look at the ring at the very tip of the plug at the tip of where the threads start, or you could say, the very first part to go into the plug hole.
  6. I swear by it. It should run cooler, bottle says 50 degrees, I don't have a temp gauge, but it does let it run cooler, and it's way better than watter wetter. No faults, all good, I won't run anything else.
  7. Just get them from MagicRacing.com or RockyMountainATV.com.
  8. We really can't tell you what pilots. If I had to guess, I'd say 27.5 would be all you need and maybe the 25 with the snorkel still on, but the only person who can know that is the rider. If it's not fouling or sputtering off idle, and your off idle responce is good, then just go with it, if it starts sputtering or cutting out some, then you might go down one size.
  9. Man, it sounds like your jetting is all f'ed up. With T-5s, you should be running more than 2 sizes bigger mains than the stockers, like around 290 or 300. Chances are, the reason your fouling plugs is because your pilot is too rich, and it's fouling when you fire it up and go cruisin around. Before I do any more "high revvin" in the back field, I'd run a plug check to see if your mains aren't too lean. Once I got that all figured out, then I'd adjust your pilots. Answer this, when you cold start, does it require the choke? What pilot are you running currently and what clip are the needles in?
  10. I agree in using the 33mm PWK's. They are great carbs, plus, I believe that 33mm carbs are an ideal size. Anything bigger and you will begin sacrifing some low end for your top end. My opinion.
  11. Alright, I'll see what I can do. Go to an open area and accelerate wide open throttle, holding it pinned, to 5th or 6th gear. Once in that gear, still holding the throttle pinned, kill the motor and roll to a stop. Pull the plugs. What your looking for on the plug is a dark brown to almost black color on the base ring (the outer ring at the end of the plug. Your also looking for the color to go halfway up the ground strap and then lighten a little out to the end of the plug. Most people do plug chops, I've even done quite a few, but I've learned that I can usually tell just about as much by looking at the base ring and the ground strap without chopping the plug and without having to ride all the back to the shop to chop it. I'll run two or three runs and check the plugs three times to make sure the readings are consistent then rejet as needed. Rejet as follows: 1.) After the WOT runs, adjust your main jets to obtain the necessary color. Check the color several tiimes to ensure consistent readings. 2.) After adjusting the mains, adjust needle clip to eliminate any hesitation, or bogging at mid-throttle. Keep in mind, adjusting the needle can effect the main slightly. Several clips are equal to about half a main size. 3.) Once your needle is responding good, adjust your pilot for smooth idle and off idle response. Good rule of thumb is, if you can cold start without choke, chances are your pilot is lean, if you need the choke to keep it idling or start when warm, then you pilot is a little lean. Note - Make only one change at a time. If you make several changes, then you might not know what caused what. It can be time consuming, but patience pays off. Following those guidelines should get you to a properly running banshee. Hope this helps. Also, the BansheeHQ FAQ section has some decent info regarding jetting.
  12. Just imagine how fast it would be with the lid off...
  13. go up one size on your pilot jet and see if that will help, sounds like you might be a little lean on your idle circuit.
  14. Yes, your premix is not what you want to tweak to reduce fouling plugs, try jetting and you'll get what you want.
  15. To get more out of the holeshot, gear up not down. As long as you have the power to pull it, a higher gear will get you there faster, because for every rpm the motor turns, the more ground you cover with the higher gears. That's why draggers run like a 17 front and some run 18 fronts. The secret is finding the right combo to get you the holeshot, but still pull you around tight. Seriously! I run a 15/41 and will take a similarly modded or even more modded shee with 14/41, not because of the power, but because of the rpms of the tires compared to the motor. With my 15 tooth front, I still start out in 2nd in a holeshot or dragging, and still have enough low end to pull the corners, but can accelerate fast enough to not have to shift as much takin corners and such. Anymore, I always run a 15 front tooth and just make subtle adjustments with the rear sprocket. later.
  16. In fact, I have a standing offer for anyone with Rockets who wants to trade straight up for my Fatties.
  17. I don't particularly agree with the concept of gearing down for bottom end. If you gear down, you'll still have the same amount of bottom end, but the gears will be closer. You'll be shifting a whole lot more and it should pull a tad more out of corners and such. Best way to see if you like it is to try it. The lowest you'll want to go on the front is a 13 tooth. Stock is 14 and then you can run a 15. I actually like the 15 best. I tinkered around with it for a month or so to see what gearing suited me best, and I tried the 13 because I've read where it "helps bottom end power", but that wasn't the case for me. Later.
  18. The 35's not really any harder to jet, you just get a little more air flow and it's like anything else, a little time reading plugs and it will pay you back. I'd say go for the 35, that one will help your top end more than the 33 will. You shouldn't lose any top end with the 33, but it surely won't help the top, the 35 should bring a little more out honestly, that is if you still with the stockers. I've got the same pipes, reeds, air intake, and all and I love the shit outta mine. Trust me, you won't regret it.
  19. My single syncs right up, no probs.
  20. I might get in this myself. I'm not too sure about dates at this time, but I've been wanting to check out kermit. I might consider bringin the 40' Motorhome as well, seein as the services are so outstanding. I've heard the dunes at kermit overall are prety good though. later.
