  1. touche.... and for the record... I have two.
  2. Once you've had a 2 stroke twin, it's hard to be without one...
  3. Looking at getting another project. I'd like to find a good solid but cheap Banshee, no j arm, good motor with no crank or bottom end issues. if you have one, lemme know.
  4. which intake is it? Graydon, Trinity... what?
  5. 2 in 1 is a killer setup but it has to be tuned properly, more than just with a jet change. the 2-1 is very finicky with the needle but once set, BOOM, it's a killer ride. EEK is a good standard for the 2-1.
  6. I'd imagine 90% of the peeps here don't even know what Network 54 is/was... lol Whatsup mang!
  7. Pictures of the cylinder, think I can hone out the imperfections??
  8. whatsup guys. i'm 12 miles west of Sherman. We ride North 40, Lake Muenster in Oklahoma, Bulcher (Muenster, Tx). Rocky Ridge sucks and we rarely make it much farther than that.
  9. you can fuck a 2 stroke up to... but not as many moving parts... that's what I get for running that big of a cam with that tight of clearances and not keeping a very very close eye on my valve springs.... i had $1,200 in that head and it was a serious power producer.... the crank, cylinder and piston I'm getting ready to replace don't bother me at all, what scares me is putting together another head. i've decided this time I'm going to go with a +3 stroker crank that'll give me 480cc's, the same displacement I was running except all bore. it'll cost me roughly the same cost, I'll have a strong crank, with the same displacement as before, similar power and if/when I want more, it'll be much simpler with a simple bore/piston change. long ways to go from here tho.
  10. clearances were on the tight end but satisfactory. time on the springs... well, they've been on there since I first started running that head, a while now. this is a bad case of valve float. just a horrible demise of a killer running head. the piston crank and all is nio big deal, I can handle it but losing that head really pisses me off.
  11. Yep. Came out of the woods, hit the throttle pretty hard and after about 100 yards, grrrrr sound then it died. buddy behind me said it was puffing white a little when i got on it and then right before it died, one good puff of white. So, it appears that the exh. valves wanted to get a little closer / more intimate with the piston and were successful. I'm assuming that the right (brake side) valve hit first with how the seat, spring and all were raised up and loose. The right front tower bolt was loose, sitting in the head like it jammed the threads out. That picture of the piston was exactly how it looked when I pulled the head. So, now here I am with a screwed head, and in need of a new cylinder, piston and I'm going to replace the crank as well.... full rebuild. This thing was running sooooo good to, in the neighborhood of 58hp and it was a fairly fresh build. I clayed the piston 4 or 5 times with good numbers, tight but okay. The cam is a pretty high lift, long duration cam and the piston is a 14.25:1. Just sucks, I went from a killer build to nothing; starting totally over.
  12. it might not be "perfect" but a tad off isn't really going to hurt much unless your on an 1/8th mile drag and want to make sure everything is ideal. my paddles spin a little on the rim so I line them up as good as I can and then go on. main thing is, on hard ground or pavement, it'll vibrate like a beeitch.
  13. man, i don't have any experience with PVs but on my own banshee, I felt the Hi Revs had a very similar top end as the Toomeys but a much smoother stronger midrange. Granted, setup has a lot to do with it and I was running a 2-1 carb, so I'm not sure how the two would compare with two big carbs. With PVs, the Toomeys could have a smoother midrange, not sure.
  14. sweeet. did you just fire it up with the old race gas that was already in the tank.... j/k... bet it was good to hear it running again.
  15. Your right on with the PT Hi Revs, they are a very killer set of pipes, not drag pipe but good top end pipes. Smooth and strong up top but still maintain a good midrange and with the Powervalves, that should make them a killer all-around mid to top pipe. not really too sure how they work on the higher durations like that but not too many peeps have experience with them as they're a little pricey and a lot end up turning towards another direction.
  16. yea, they're close bone stock to bone stock, however, you got what you got with the 'shee. With the YFZ, you can pull the pipe baffle out, pull the lid and have a different machine that'll put the hurt on a stock banshee, and all for free, other than new jets. Also, the YFZ handles LIGHTYEARS better than a banshee. For general riding, the YFZ is a better quad.
  17. Procom = JUNK Use the stocker and get a timing plate and advance the timing.
  18. here's one of the only gas additives that is a true octane booster, tested plenty of times. http://www.kemcooil.com/products.php?cId=4 this is the most perfect scenario when race fuel is not available or your sharing gas with peeps who use pump and want to bump the octane level up some for your machine.
  19. a bad day at the drags is better than a good day at work..... whatsup Dale, how's it been going for ya?
  20. i think it was tithead who shoved the shee in the wagon, and he's from the UK, Scotland I think, not Ireland.
