  1. Or should I say, how hard is it to make them competitive? I know IMS/Elka has a pretty sweet 700. I've never ridden one, but with a pipe and some other small mods, how competitive can they be? I've been getting the itch for a thumper in the XC stuff and have been weighing some options. I don't want the yfz, partly because there is so freaking many. I'd like a Z400, but they're just underpowered and I'm afraid it'd take too much $$ to get the power there. I know some of you will say how slow or bad or something, but they actually handle pretty damn good, if they just had a few more ponies, they'd be right on top of the yfz. The idea of the KFX700 is really intriguing me, something big with an assload of torque. I don't like the auto stuff, but I've heard the power is so strong and it actually clutches pretty good, I've also heard there is an aftmkt company that will be coming out with a manual conversion, maybe i'm wrong but I heard that. I'd sure like some valuable input, not immature bashing. Later.
  2. No no no no no!!!!!!! 155lbs and under, 93 and under. around 160, 97, maybe half race, half pump. 180, your gonna want some 110 or higher race fuel or else your gonna detonate and do something very bad.
  3. I'd like to go. I already got the "if you wanna break a promise" thing when I mentioned it. Funny what you'll say when your hurt and sick of getting lectured to.
  4. i've got 10" fronts and 9" rears, so the rears wouldn't work, unless I wanted to buy new rubber, and I'm not ready for that. how much you want for just the front two (if your willing to part them) and how much for the whole lot. I'd probably just get all 4 and then save the rears or somethin. so you partin your shiz out yet or still holding on.
  5. My 10 year old Bell Moto 5 or something (been so long can't remember) has been the shit, and I'll never give it up. Go Bell, don't know if RMATV sells them or not.
  6. there's a plug under the gas tank on the left side on the top frame tube. unplug it. the parking brake has two plugs, one up by the lever and then one down lower by the radiator, unplug them both.
  7. 310 main, 27.5 pilot, 4th clip on the needle. unless your higher than 1,000 feet, then back off one main size per 1,000 feet.
  8. agreed! trade them for some 28s or maybe 30s, and do yourself a favor. that's just way too much air unless your stroking, even then that's too big for my taste unless your draggin...
  9. 180 is not a problem as long as your using the proper gas. If you want to take it down, then buy a head from someone on here or buy a head from dlnoss aka Noss Machine.com.
  10. I like torque!! Torque is your friend.
  11. Likewise. I have never been out due to banshee problems. If I go to the dunes, the trails, hit the track, don't matter. Others have had to sit sidelines due to some issues, but I've NEVER been left out. Only time she can't be rode is when I'm adding new shiz.
  12. sounds like a rich circuit in your carb. is it happening at idle, mid-throttle cruising or after a hard wide-open-throttle run?
  13. Sup fellas. I'm wantin some different wheels. They need to be fairly tough, like .190s, but as far as style, it's not too important. Douglas .190s or ITP C-Series may work. The ITP Bajas are pretty nice also. Depending on what you have, I may consider trading my stock A-arm/Spindle/Tie Rod assemblies, but they'll have to equal the value. Post what you got, pics are always nice and let me know what your askin. Thanks.

  15. Sounds like Minkia got to him before anyone else could, doubt we'll see him again, he shoulda just kept his mouth shut! Poor harley_sr.
  16. have you cleaned your airfilter?
  17. Paul Turners, the mids anyways, are great midrange pipes but they do fall a little short on the top end. I'm telling you, the Fatties will get you some good low end, with great mid and really good top end. The Gnarlies are going to fall short as well in the top end compared to the Fatties. If you dune, that's going to be important. BTW, thanks for the "Ballturners"!
  18. C'mon man, this is fun!! Agreed on making this post a sticky. In fact, asking about what oil and what premix should be officially banned, there's 4 topics at this very minute on oils and premix. That's what the search feature is for.
  19. Just go up a couple sizes on his main jets.
  20. yea. sorry didn't give more info. roosthrower posted the links initially. Inframe pipe test
  21. Dyno curves for : T5's T6's CPIs Shearers Fatties HP Sheet Torque Sheet You'd be surprised at how close the curve is for the Fatties and the T5s.
