  1. i don't come here often lately so i just now saw this thread. i will say with almost no doubt that those cylinders were not done by ed toomey and ross barron racing.toomey done mine back in 1997.now a days you can buy a cub setup for half or less than half of what it cost to have the conversion done.those might have been done by andy at grr.
  2. I got a JJ&A gun drilled drag axle and it did help trim a little from my et's in 500ft dirt.As mentioned they are considerably lighter and allow for more adjustment of the rearend width. Steve
  3. I have a 2 piece flamed billet stator cover i will trade for a good set of ready to run v-force 3's. The stator cover has a few minor scratchs and could use cleaned and buffed but it still looks pretty good. I don't get on here much lately so if your interested in a trade shoot me a pm. steve
  4. if they are 34mm carbs they are not air strykers.if they are air strykers then they are either 35 or 38mm and will have 2 fins in they inlet side .if you have 34mm keihins they are most likely pj's.the main difference between pj and pwk keihins is that you set the idle on pj's by turning the choke knob and pwk's have idle screws.as for the the pilots as far as i know the smallest pilot jets they make for them is 35's.
  5. Ihave ran on ashpalt and have ran on 300ft ,500ft and 600ft dirt and always just dump the clutch and go. As for the springs i run all heavy and have extra weight added to the lockup fingers.I have never ran sand so i won't argue what works there and what don't.I do know I SlowerThanyou is an extremely knowledgable person to take advice from when it comes to anything drag racing and drag racing anything. Hey Bryan i'm glad to see your much better and sorry to hear about your accident. I have'nt been on here much lately but i can see there's still the same old drama from the same old persons, lol. Steve
  6. i'd wait till you get the motor back from jim. try what jim recommends. also you should most deffinately get a lockup on that thing if you did'nt already. with your weight you might do a bit better with a +6 or +8 swingarm. i think your gonna notice a big difference when you get it back and get it tuned and running.
  7. bike looked like it was running pretty good bryan. you know it might get a little dirty tho running sand ,lol.
  8. wanted to add also in case u did'nt know . with a pvl you will not have any lighting capabilities.daylight riding only.
  9. if it were me i'd try starting with 52 pilots and probally 162 mains turn air screws out 1 1/2 turns , clip on needle in middle position. i'd also do a check of the plugs before running it to long or to hard.
  10. here ya go . its a link from penton with the full instructions for installing and setting up a pvl. click here >> PVL SETUP
  11. t rexs can run very good but it takes alot of porting . in my oppinion for what it will cost to buy the t rex kit you are further ahead to buy a cheetah cub setup. the t rex was great in its day but alot of them were known to have the bridge in the intake break.
  12. hey thats great to hear madmax. jim does without a doubt do excellent work.
  13. lol, thats known as a hyper charger. the only real power gain comes from the k&n filter.
  14. is it ported ? if so do you know who ported it?
