My brother came by my house tonight, took the bike for a rip! He's amazed at the power difference and just how hard the powerband hits! Your porting and the Shearers are a match made in heaven!! The bike also shifts so much better it shifts better than when it was brand new!!!

I know it's easy to sit here and tell you start fresh, but start fresh with a reputable builder that everyone knows is legit and can vouch for, FAST, Redline- being in Virginia I would even consider contacting Sleeper06 here on Long Island.. He will build you a motor that will haul the fuel something fierce and be ultra reliable!!!!
-
It's thanks to you I met Sleeper last year this time when's put up a post here I was looking for someone local on Long Island to instal my new a-arms and shocks on my freshly rebuilt 250R and set up all the geometry properly.. You saw the post and suggested I contact him Sleeper, I did, found out he's 15 min from me, he put my 250R back as a roller and I already had my banshee there! He just ported my stock cylinders, tuned on kill for straight 110 and put my shearers on, new reeds my VF2's were cracked, and a bunch of other misc stuff. His work is meticulous! He will be building my 7mil, my "budget" is to make 100hp on stock cylinders hahaha - yeahhhhhh boyyyyyy!
-
Seems like what I am reading he is "taking care of his customers alright"- by bending them over his work bench, taking their wallets out of their back pockets then burying an axle up their asses!
-
Been there with another local builder.. Brought it to Sleeper, at the end of the day my banshee is the fastest it's ever been! And I have mild mild work done! I wasted $1300 having it a local shop who made a mess out of previous setup. Had I went to Sleeper from jump, I could have a nice 7mil built and not wasted $1300!!!! Lesson learned!

First banshee port, pointers or compliments or anything
Big Mike NY replied to Hudson1021's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I had an ESR older style cylinder 350cc stock stroke ported by Eddie himself. The whole setup was all ESR, and it ran phenomenal, the torque was everywhere and with the 41mm pwk carb the top end was equally as fast. I now have his new 430 6mil, again all ESR incidentals right down to his pipe and silencer and it is a rocket, the power is anywhere you want it, crack the throttle and boom it's right on like a switch! ESR does good porting, but there are better builders who port better but my experience with ESR has only been his motors built by him... Just thought I'd add that info.. -
need a mechanic in NY or something?

Sleeper06, Carl. Done. -
Yup, just call tell him what you need, Jeff is mad cool and customer service is amazing! You'll get an invoice mailed to you right away and shipping is F.A.S.T...

Aim that budget high! Personally I wouldn't deal with any shop EXCEPT FAST or Redline! They are the at the top of the hill (no pun intended) on going fast and overall knowledge and are fairly priced- that's a relative statement.. But one thing is for certain their customer service is unbeatable and their motors flat out rip!!!!!

Trooper are you referring to Rich at house of horsepower? So the rear can be rebuilt and the fronts I need to buy new, correct??

DRAG PARTS! STOCK PARTS! WHAT YA NEED?
Big Mike NY replied to 1bad4millbanshee's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
What kind of a-arms oem or after market? Please elaborate... -
I just recently purchased a +4 swing arm and over the next month I am ordering +2+1 a-arms (manufactured undecided yet). For the trail riding and hill climbing I do I decided to stick with the stocks, can anyone recommend a shop that can rebuild the stock shocks to accomodate the new swing arm and a-arms? Did you guys hear Andy Maul the shock professor from Maultech ATV was just murdered by his father in law RIP ANDY! Thanks ! Mike

best motor build around $2500
Big Mike NY replied to nailpounder's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Fwiw I got a quote from Redline for a 7mil motor complete tear down and rebuild bottom to top all bells whistles chips and dip, utilizing my stock cylinders for under $3k. When I'm ready the motor will either go to him or I might keep it local and have Sleeper06 build my 7mil with stock cylinders as I'm all about the sleeper look as well! -
Big bore sleeves or new cylinders

The only thing I was told to buy from Vito is the Italian peppers and sausage hero at the food cart on Madison and 53rd here in the City.. Vito makes a mean peppers and sausage! -
Send the entire motor to FAST or Redline, rebuild based on your budget, problems solved! Depending where you are Sleeper06 on Long Island, Carl, really has his shit togther and can build you anything! Since I'm 20 min from him he's my go-to guy for everything since I met him last December.. Just mentioning it in case you'd rather not pull out and ship your motor across the states.. Good luck whichever route you choose...

Running my Banshee in cold temps
Big Mike NY replied to FTSFTWNFU2's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Sleeper 06 knows what happened to my buddie's brand new 4 mil built banshee with all the bells and whistles built by FAST. We took it upstate NY back in early February this past year to make its maiden passes. Mind you the heat cycling was done prior to this. The temps were 12* F without the wind chill. I video taped both passes, the first pass he took off banged the gears like it was an automatic and the bike fucking flew! Came back about 5 min later on a WOT pass coming towards me, and the bike sounded off and it was breaking up. We killed the motor and called Jeff from FAST and told him what happened. He asked what the ambient temps were and when we told him 10*-12* Jeff's exact words and I quote " I'll bet the farm you hurt that motor" with less than 15 min on a brand new motor. Lesson learned! Sleeper 06 did the rebuild because he's awesome and he's local, he could probably tell you the extent of the damage he saw... Lesson learned!! -
My banshee is at Sleeper06, he's putting on my shearers and retuning it. I noticed the pipes had oil drilling out of each tip. Upon inspection Carl told me my VF2's (the originals that I bought with banshee brand new). The VF2's where cracked and I immediately went ahead and ordered the VF4's from F.A.S.T problem solved!

If you decide not to go with brand new pipes I have an excellent set of FMF Fattys, chrome is 8 out of 10, no dents and mufflers just repacked. $200 shipped email me if your interested for pics ammarca@optonline.net Mike

Carl my bike has no shift issues that you can tell, right? I guess we'll address the shift star and gear and clutch setup when we split everything open to build the 7 mil...
-
I've repacked pipes with the FMF packing, pot scrubbers and even housing insulation R39- I have no issues worth the FMF packing and that shits cheap!
