jbooker82
Your talking about the sock or sleeve type that you slide over the silencer tube to keep from melting your outerwear right? I have them and they work great. They barly get warm on the out side. You can grab them with your hand. I would say they are about the best heat protection you can get. They hold up very well too. josh

jbooker82
I just have the half lenght ones. I use them on my Toomey T5's. If your going to be putting them on your shear pipes I think that people usually use the full lenght ones since the stingers go up and over the filters. I need to find something to keep them from sliding. A hose clamp would probably be a little harsh on them. I was thinging about trying a couple of zip ties. I dont think they would get hot engough that they would melt them. You can get stainless steel zip ties made for header wrap. That would probably work the best. RNBRAD
Had them for a while, yes they do work well. Thing I didn't like is they hold sand, dirt, moisture etc... cause they are a loose fit around the mid-pipe tube. I opted to go with some header wrap and really like that route much better. FASTOYS
Yes most O Riellys , Advanced auto, etc. and can order from Summit Racing also. I think most people use Zip ties on the heat shield wraps to keep most of the debris out.

jbooker82
If you get the kit from summit i think it comes with Stainless Steel Zip Ties. DEI is a good brand of header wrap.

cam2
http://designengineering.com/products.asp?m=sp&pid=22 this is what i use. i bought them from advance auto parts for around $14 for two. there is a steel ring at the unstitched end that has to be removed. i undid the stitching and slid the ring out. then i folded the now unstitched end and slid it on the stinger first. they will stretch easily enough to slide on. i didn't use any thing to hold them in place but if i did i would use plastic tie wraps because they won't get no where near hot enough to harm the tie wraps or the outerwears. i've had no issues at all with them harming the outerwears. i will definitely use them again if need be.
