Need Help With Stock Staor Plate

hi guys

 

need help with this. i want +4 advance but i dont want to waste 80 or even 35 bucks on aftermarket plates. Are there any pics or instructions about this item?

 

I did a search :whoa: but didnt find any post about it.

 

will this mod make an improve on my shee??? my mods are pipes, air filter and reeds.

You can use a die grinder or dremel and elongate the hole in the stock plate so that you can slide it to advance the timing some. It's very easy, I think like a quarter inch is about 3 degrees.

 

Someone else will post a pic or link and give you a more accurate measurement I'm sure.

Pretty sure it is clockwise. The + marks are above the 0 and the - marks are below, and they're on the righthand side. So if you rotate it clockwise, you get into the +1, +2 and so on, or rotate it counterclockwise for reversed.

I just recently used this same pic. that BDbanshee posted to modify my stator plate. I matched mine as close as I could to the picture, and checked afterwards with a timing light. I measured about 4 to 5 degrees advance.

It seemed like 1mm. = 1degree. :headbang:
