Hey guys,
I just jetted the banshee, but it didn't quite go according to plan. Mods are: Toomey T5's, K&N Filter, K&N Powerlid and VForce 3 Rad Valves. I used 280 mains, standard pilots and Toomey needles on the 4th clip from the blunt end, as advised by a few members of the HQ.
When I fired it up I had to give it a touch of revs to get it to idle and while puffing a little smoke from the right pipe it shot a flame. I was a little worried, and my brother suggested unburnt fuel. No worries, so I kick it over again and the same thing happens. I've heard that the smoke could be a result of the carbs not being synced properly, but the flames from the right pipe have me very concerned.
At this point I had had enough fun for the night. Have you guys got any ideas as to where I've gone wrong? I'm meant to be going on a trip in two days so I need to get this sorted ASAP. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Cheers,
Mike

Do you have the TORS kit?
Are the carbs Synced?
What pilots do you have?
Whats the Elevation?
Whats the Temp?
When was the last time the plugs were changed? I have had one that cracked and would only get spark every now and then.
Is the choke tube connected?
Read up on this site as well for help with jetting.

TORS is still in place (ie. no TORS kit)
To the best of my ability, but I don't have the tool (will need to get one and do it)
I'm running the standard banshee pilots. The only thing I touched was the main jets, the needles and the air screws.
Elevation is roughly 6m above sea level (so basically sea level).
Temp is roughly 25-35 degrees celsius
Plugs are maybe a month old.
Choke tube and everything has been connected.
I hope something there helps. And sorry for the metric measurements.

Do you still have the stock needles?
Do you have 27.5 pilots
If it was me. I would put the 27.5 pilots in. Pull the power lid. Put the 280s back in. Turn the air screw 1-1/2 turns from fully closed. Make sure the carbs are really clean. But I also think that your mains might be running lean with the temps being cold and all. But remember when Jetting. Set the main first. Then the needle, then the pilot-air screw.

You should be close with that jetting. If anything i would say go one step up on the pilot. But i wouldnt think a stock pilot would be that far off. I ran t5's with clamp on KnN's with stock pilots and 280 mains, needle in the middle, and it ran great
