RadarRacing
I'd say have jeff port it. I just took my 54 stroke 392 apart and have my new 4mil almost together. It's a lot of money difference over just porting. My 392 was pretty fast but I just wanted a little more.

J-Madd
Mine has some port work and has run 4.21 at its best. I'm trying to decide if I want to get more port work done to it as well. 190 lb rider, lightened stock chassis. 4.23 is a good time for that motor, imo. J-Madd
Just noticed you have the 358 cub. My reply was referring to my 392 Cub, just for clarification.

shanYE west
my best time out of my 421 is a 4.16 with no bar... If that thing is running that good.. I dont think I'd change a thing. For a motor that size.. thats flat out ripping.
quadgod211
its a fast track as well,he only drags the 1st 100ft and it packs down hard at the big end....good dirt though,,prowedge is the only hooking tire..... now in the sand at grayson with 13 paddle extremes i can only turned mid 4.3's.. J-Madd
My times are on a stock chassis, I assumed yours were as well. I think you can get more out of it than 4.20s on a ridgid. Ran my best ever time on my 421 (stock chassis) a week ago 4.07@75.6 mph, 1.45 60 ft. Its all about gearing and tires. I finally found the sweet spot with this motor, I think. RadarRacing
I wouldnt get rid of it either. I know my new 421 runs, but if you have a 190 or 200 lb rider on a stock stroke cub running low 4s dont tear it apart by any means.
dajogejr
Word...don't touch a thing. Play with gearing, timing and air pressure....but you got a good running motor there!
2bzy2p
thats kinda odd going faster on dirt then sand and especially running a 4.2 with prowedges. must have a bad motor!
quadgod211
its a fast track,,,anything over a 7 mill cub overpowers it on the big end,,,i mean a stock 450yfz's with wedges strutted with a wheelie bars can run 5.0-5.3's on the tracks you all run i normally turn around a 4.36-4.40's i got a buddy that runs a 10mill at planet sand he ran a 3.75 and at this track hes a 4.0 man cause of traction...
