Stop gifting PAYPAL, use your Bank Account for free.

Recommended Posts

About a year ago PAYPAL enabled a feature that allows users to send money from their bank account for ZERO FEE. I haven't seen any one even us this yet and people still demand that their money be gifted so that they are not responsible for fees. Normally this is ok, but there are always a few shady fucks that seem to fall out of the norm. Meaning that if you gift your payment, you are shit out of luck. But now you can use your checking, debit, and I believe even your savings account safely and free. Protect your purchase as well as save some money. Doesn't get any better then that.

Ummmm, what are you talking about?? I've never noticed what you are talking about, my paypal is linked to my bank account, either you gift, you pay fees, or the seller pays fees. Or you add 3% and pay normally and you will cover the fees on a normal purchase for goods.

Can you explain what you mean if it isn't something I just mentioned?

Seller always pay the fees. If you send a payment like a gift you have to pay with you linked account or paypal balance and they won't charge you any fees for the transaction but if the buyer pay using a credit card no matter he choose the gift option they will charge him the fees.

Dunno, I've bought a bunch of shit through guys here and none of them paid fees nor did I.

If you say it's a friend and still claim goods you can be protected and not pay fees. It might not work for the guys who are obviously running a business like JD or something. But so far it has been free all year for me and the folks I've bought from.

Paying for "goods or services" costs the sellers the fee whether it comes out of your saving, checking, Paypal acct etc. Sending money to "friends and family", the fee is waved when paying with a good standing acct, savings, debit, checking or Paypal acct. "Gifting" the payment is good for saving the 3%, but does not cover you in the buyer protection program they have. That protection has to get funded somehow. 3% is cheap insurance on values of items we buy here.

It's fucking simple. We are all friends here at HQ. You are simply purchasing goods from a friend. This transaction is protected unlike regular "gifted" payments. All purchases I have made on here lately have been that way and the seller has never had to pay fees nor have I. Do it how you want. Pay the fees or risk getting took. Don't bitch if it's the latter of the two if you were given a better option.

I agree with you, we are all friends. However some people aren't to friendly and scam us or send items not as described! "Friends and family" paying isn't for paying for goods. Just loans, gifts etc. If you pay through "friends and family" you are NOT covered through their buyer protection program. Photo below is from Paypals website, it clearly states you are not covered if you pay with "friends and family". Paypal just changed the transaction name from "Gifting" to send money to "Family and friends" about a year ago and at that time they started waving the fees when paid in certain ways. I believe that is what the OP is talking about.

I rarely use paying for "goods" myself because I don't want to pay the fees or have the buyer pay them but, to each their own! Again, Paying for "goods" protects the buyer from, Yes, the scammers that are out there. If the seller is known and is reputable, avoid the fees.

There is no "Better option" you pay fees or risk getting took. The way you are describing sending money is "Gifting" or "Sending money to family & Friends" Either way you are actually risking getting took if you don't pay fees, Just FYI
