I am thinking about putting some black wheels on my '98 banshee. It has nearly all white plastic with a hint of blue so I am not sure if it would clash too much. I have had a hard time finding a similar one with black wheels. Does anybody have any pics of one or thoughts on how it would look?

Cool Head Blowing O-Rings

This is the second time it has happened and both times its been on the left cylinder. I do know how to correctly install the o-rings. I use plenty of grease to keep them seated . I also torque to the correct specs. in proper order and don't over tighten. My set up is 4 mill mx port . Domes cut by same guy who did port job . Site sponsor here. Chariot head 21 cc domes running a 50/50 mix. Jetting is a tad rich but very close. No signs of deto. The viton o-ring on the left cylinder will get a thinspot in it and allow water into the cylinder this has happened twice since I have had these higher compression domes. Prob bout six months apart. I'm gonna try it one more time then if it does it again I know I def got a prob somewhere. Any suggestions on where to look Possible things that may be causing this ?

Extra Modding My Banshee

Hey everyone. Okay so i run Toomey T-5's, V-Force reeds 3, K&N with 270 Dynojet (Moose Racing Jets) 15/41 Gearing, Trail Tech Vapor gauge ++ small accessories eg. graphics est. My spark plugs has this nice tan-ish brown color to it that indicates a perfect jetting. I have an adjustable timing plate on it but its set to the stock position about to be set on +4 i'm also going to get a 42 tooth rear sprocket to run 15/42. What other mods can i do to it to make it faster i'm already quite impressed with its amazing banshee power! just want a bit more out of it i now hit 137.5 Km/h ( 86 mp/h ) top speed I was thinking of the Dyna Ignition CDI box or a aftermarket head like Pro Design Coolhead but don't know much about the domes and stuff. I want safe modding nothing that'll damage my engine or effect it much i use the bike a lot and take care of it very much.

I run 95 octane pump gas i live in Bahrain elevation is sea level i'm even thinking of increasing my jet size to somewhere like 290 and going for the dual K&N's that mount dierectly to the carb but they get dirty really fast so i dont think it's worth it. Also ive seen some banshees with different sparkplug wires (yellow) (red) they say it gives a bit more spark there cheap and worth getting any tips remember i want to stay safe and healthy.

Thanks for all your help.

Stator question

Sorry if this has been asked a million times already. Is there any difference in the oem stators by year? My f ing bike will not start and I am at the point of throwing parts at it. Everything is new or freshly rebuilt and no it is not a carb issue. I thought I had it figured out with the flywheel being broken but no dice. It gets spark and will briefly fire with new plugs and then die. I am thinking the stator is taking a shit. The stator and cdi are the only things left to replace. I am going to suck it up and buy a new oem one. Are they all the same by year?

How to know if you motor is bored?

I recently purchased a 2002 banshee. The second owner claims that the original owner, (I am the third owner), had the motor bored 60 over to a 410. I didn't pay big bucks for it b/c there were no receipts to prove it. However the bike is extremely fast, and I just had is serviced and found out the barrings were completely trashed, and even with the bad bearings that bike was super fast. So I am wondering if this is in indicator of the bike having the motor work down.

Any tips or suggestions on how I can find out with out taking apart the motor??

Wacko2000

Bought an Elka rear shock with LT linkage from him for my YFZ. Shock and linkage arrived as described but in a box that USPS had obviously mis-handled. The box was ripped open and I found one of the bronze bushings/spacers from the top of the shock to be missing.

I contacted Joe and told him of the situation. He asked that I call Elka, order the bushing and let him know the total so he could reimburse me. He did right away.

Long story short, I would definitely buy from him again! He took an unfortunate situation and made it right.

Thanks!

I want to get a slightly more adjustable shock for what I do.

These where serviced and valved by Mattscss just end of last summer. they have very little ride time on them considering I dont use them in the winter for TT racing...

They where done for 220lbs rider for trails.

The springs are for 165lbs rider so they are soft shocks. I was going to put the springs on them for me but want to try and go to a more adjustable shock instead of dropping more cash in them.

Ill start at 600 + shipping!
valving was 221 and I added the resi's for 150$.

New banshee owner

Hello to all on the board and thank you in advance for the information that is shared. My name is Trevor. I just bought my first banshee. I have been wanting one for a long time since I was 15 on my 350X Honda 3 wheeler and a banshee would walk right past me. Well I never thought that I would be almost 40 before I acquired one. I have an 02 blaster that I have spent over 4k on it building it up and making it a nice trail machine. I went riding with a raptor 660 up north and I couldn't hang with it. So I thought about going big bore on my blaster. After some input from the blaster forum and seeing how much more $ it was going to take and one member said just buy a banshee. I thought what the hell. I might as well take a look to see whats out there. I have looked numerous times for a banshee but I haven't seen anything running for under $1800. I found a running 92 for $900 yesterday. It does have issues. The a arms are worn out. The sprockets and chain is worn out. The headlights are missing. It idles really high. There is oil residue in the air box. There are a number of random bolts on it. The rear shock is leaking. Those are just the things I spotted in 10 minutes with the machine. I plan on fixing it up to safe trail ride able status and making it look nice again. If you have any input it is appreciated.
