04_blu_shee
What gearing would be optimum for me, All input will be appreciated. My setup is 421 chettah Cub cleanup on cylinders Alky carbs stock chassis +8 arm I weigh 195lbs. Gearing now is 16-40 75RO 12 stags. The motor has plenty of power but it just doesn't seem as quick as it should be compared to similar builds. I haven't had it on the timed track yet just out Dune Drags. Thanks what is your opinions on gear choice
J-Madd
Did you measure the roll out or is that what was advertised when you bought the tires? You're gonna need about a 14/43 or 14/44 to run 300 ft assuming you have a 2-5 override. If you're just grudge racing and going farther than 300' go with a 14/42. jmo. RadarRacing
Jmadd is on the money. You are geared pretty high with a 75" tire. With normal 72/73" 12 to 14 paddles you would be the same rear he recommended 43 or 44 and 15 front. With the bigger tires you want the 14 front for sure and a 43 to 46 rear.
