PWK 28 jetting help

Recommended Posts

Hey guys having a hard time getting my new carbs dialed in. With stock carbs I was running 350 mains, 30 pilots, air screw 2 1/4 turns out and it always ran great. Put VForce 4s in and had a bog/hesitation around half throttle. Found a good deal on Keihin 28mm PWKs. Rich off idle and still has the stumble in the midrange. Cleans up great on top no sputtering. Plugs are pretty dark and a little wet. Started with 158 mains went down to 155 and now on 150s and still rich. Running a 45 pilot (only one came with cabrs) air screws 1.5 turns out. Stock needles middle clip position.

Mods are -

FMF SST

HJR Aggressive trail port with boost ports

VForce 4 reeds

Stock head milled .030

.030 over bore

Stock stroke HotRods crank

Lightened flywheel

Clutch

28mm PWK

Pro Design Pro Flow filter kit (investing in pods when I have extra cash)

Just under 1000ft sea level here in Ohio

Im going on a riding trip in two days and would love to be able to ride my Banshee. I can take my YZ250 as backup but I don't wanna ride a MX bike in trails/hills if I don't have to. Any help is appreciated! Thanks

Yeah Im gonna burn it up while its too rich. Makes sense

An overly rich mid range can mask a lean top end to an extent.

Looks like Burke's a little burnt

Slit your wrists and go the fuck away, seriously.

You're making big jumps in jetting... It doesn't take long to melt a piston... Have at it

This.
