4mm dune port 28 pwks k&n pods chariot cage boysen reeds +4 timing. Not one person has been able to identify why my plug chops are grey and I've asked a lot of people lol.

What fuel are you using?

Our plug chops are grey using leaded race fuel. I have a VP fuels tuning guide that states that's the proper color for their fuel.

I'm using 93 gravel. Since I finished the bike I've dropped mains changed heads domes coils boots retarded timing. I obviously didn't do those things because of the color of the plugs but I've ran chops before and color has always been grey. Hell man I was running VP116 and still got a grey chop

Color is not a big deal. It depends on fuel brand as well as oil. I have seen black/gray , brown, and even yellow plug chop rings. Lucas synthetic oil is great stuff but gives me bright yellow rings on the porcelain, no brown or much color at all so I do not use it for tuning. I think the gray you have instead of brown is just the color of ash that oil leaves behind. It appears your ring is at least 1mm tall and that is more important than color really. Richer will leave a much taller/thicker and darker ring, leaner will leave a thinning ring untill it fades away to nothing (way too lean) . Our sweet spot is in between.

You also read the flat base at the bottom of the threaded part of the plug and yours shows heat and plating burn there going around the base. The left plug shows burning from 6 o'clock to 9 o'clock and the right plug shows burning from the groundstrap 1 o'clock to 7 o'clock. That tells us quite a bit as well. If these plugs have one or two very long runs on them or numerous hard passes then they should be safe but if it was only 300 feet a few times then I would go up one jet size. This base plating is how we read alcohol plugs as well.

I've decided I'm just going to get this thing on a dyno. I don't understand with my build and carbs how I'm running that hot. A 158 with a clip on the rich end should be more than enough when there's people running 155s with crazier builds than I have.

True, I took a 2 hr ride yesterday normal riding through trails when I got back the strap looked fine no signs of heat damage but in my opinion my plugs were too white no carbon build up at all. They didn't look washed just didn't look like they had 2 hrs of ride time on them
